Welcome to the George Sports Colosseum in Prince George where we will see the first game of this season between the Prince George Firebirds and the Detroit Falcons. Both teams have had very similar results so far leaving them at the top of their division standings.

This game was really weird Detroit had the most pressure in the game but was not effective with their tons of chances. PGF on the other hand scored on the few chances they had and won the game trough that and stellar goaltending by Waters.
Overall 35 shots to 23 for the Falcons. 3 goals for PGF and 1 goal for Detroit. The first period was actually in favor of PGF with 11 shots to 6 but both teams failed to score a goal. The Falcons were the better team in the 2nd period outshooting PGF with 14 to 6 but they got scored on twice. The last period was certainly an interesting one. Detroit almost trippled PGF shots with 15 to 6 and Zach Evans let his frustration out by skating into PGF goalie Ben Waters and fought with Ricardelli because of that.

Turning Point:
The turning Point is a combination of the ver good goaltending of Ben Waters and the 2 penalties of Detroit players Merica and Free that led to 2 goals for PGF. These goals gave PGF a huge momentum boost. These Goals combined with Waters godlike performance frustrated the Falcons because they were down by 2 goals but had more shots in the las 2 periods than PGF in the whole game

Actually a very confusing matchup. Waters had a godly save percentage but his advanced stats are the worst I have ever seen. McSieve's advanced stats are ok they are not good but acceptable. Waters on the other hand has really bad stats. Almost 42% of his saves resulted in rebounds and ALL of them were bad ones that gave the opposing team possesion. One of these bad rebounds actually resulted in a goal for Detroit so we have to ask ourself is that solely Waters fault or are his teammates also responsible for this? Not being able to chase a reboun.

3 Stars:
3rd Star:
Ben Waters. At first glance he should deserve the first star but once you look a bit further in his stats you can see that he just allowed way too many rebounds. The worst thing about that these rebounds were all bad ones and one of them even resulted in a goal. Nonetheless you have to respect his 97,14% save percentage on 35 shots.
2nd Star:
Frederick Boone. He had 2 points tonight which consisted of 2 assists. 1 shot on the goal and 2 hits while clocking at a total ice-time of 20.16 minutes. 3:59 on the PP and 5:24 on the PK. He also had face off % of 59,25%. Boone was overall a very valueable asset for his team in that game.
1st Star:
Eduard Selich. Selich was the most valueable player in this game scoring 2 goals on 3 shots and playing 20 minutes in total. 3:59 minutes on the PP and 5:37 on the PK the most out of anyone in this whole game. He was also a defensive presence with 4 hits.
