Will the league ever move to an 82 game season?
#1

Just wondering, it's something I've wondered for a while. Would just be cool to compare our player stats and seasons to some of the seasons that real players have had. Be able to compare our careers to others.

I have two recommendations:

1. Treat this game like the game it is.
2. Multiply your stat lines by a factor of 82/50.

No. Compare your player to those in the past in this league, since your player is in THIS universe, not the NHL universe.

Alonzo Garbanzo Final Tallies (Among Defensemen):
2nd in Goals (208), All-Time Assists Leader (765)*, All-Time Points Leader (973), 3rd in Hits (2587), All-Time Blocked Shots Leader (1882)*
*All-Time Leader Among All Skaters

Yes, would probably be possible if we decided to get rid of juniors, integrate those teams into the SHL and held a dispersal draft of the current 12 teams.

Maybe get rid of draft altogether, have NPCs with locked in TPE totals available (league created players get randomized into a 7 round, 12 player per round draft)

E.G I make a player who is 758 TPE, and is put into a huge pool of players, 84 is taken from that pool per year, never updated, once regression happens autoretire, no work at all for updaters and gives newer teams something to build around.

Regular people can sign with a team after 48 hours, then play their first game. New Starting total is 500 TPE, and before anyone bitches, most of us played in an age where you could get 7 tpe for a gfx and written PT.

Otherwise, you get fucky schedules, or too thin teams.

Multiply? Is that, lIke, a math thing? We don't really do math in North Carolina.

Colorado - 9 High Active 1 Low Actives
Detroit - 7 High Active 2 Low Actives
Vancouver - 6 High Active 3 Low Actives
St Louis - 11 High Active 3 Low Actives
Kelowna - 10 High Active
Prince George - 9 High Active 1 Low Actives
Halifax - 6 High Active 2 Low Actives
Montreal - 7 High Active 2 Low Actives

Influx of 65 active prospects + 14 Low active

If we dumped Juniors.

I dont think its a terrible idea to delete juniors with the activity on some teams being lower than others.

Realistically most teams like to have 9 Forwards, 4-5 D and a starter as their actives. So lets say 15 players.

210 spots on rosters on 14 teams.

240 for 16. Could do a pretty solid 74 game schedule then (6 games vs Inter conferece, 4 against outter).

Yes, there would be 155 TPE players potentially on teams, but if everyone has them, then there is no arching disadvantage. Teams will always have a high number of High TPE players, so rebuilds will hurt for sometime potentially, but thats how it is in the real world.

If 16 teams isnt enough, creep it up by 1 or 2 at a time til it's a healthy fit for a model like that.....

Juniors is a fun introduction. I do not support getting rid of them and I don't understand how that discussion even came up.
