Kyle Wahlter's Experiment With Isaac Kaiser is a Failure
The 21-year old has struggled to keep up with Jakob Tanner's system, and with his high price, low return, the former 3rd Round Pick could be the next one packing his bags.

Kyle Wahlters: We've waited patiently, we gave you a season for this kid to improve, and somehow he's managed to become a worse player.

When Wahlters signed RFA Isaac Kaiser last off season to a 3-year, $9.5 Million dollar deal, the entire Portland Admirals fanbase was promised someone who could bring a mix of grit, grind, defence and offence to the team. Instead, what the Admirals received was a hell of a locker room cancer, 4th line plug who was only good for being mic'd up and swearing from the pine during games. Isaac Kaiser has to go, and it will only be time before Wahlters realizes his mistake and sends the fringe SHLer to another team.

Let's review the numbers. In just 100 SHL games played, Kaiser has recorded a whopping total of 10 points. 10 points for a cap hit of $3.12 Million! Sports writers typically aren't the best mathematicians, but that is not the best point per game average for someone who's paid for at least 20 points a season. That's not all, Kaiser's play on ice has dragged down the quality of play from his linemates, particularly in Cikgnar Konstantinov, who is mainly relegated to defending both Kip O'Callahan's and Kaiser's mistakes on ice. The lack of defence by a supposed "shutdown" 4th Line is one hole that Wahlters needs to address this upcoming off season.

Who could Kaiser be traded to? Free Agency would be a start. A buyout of the rest of Kaiser's contract would ensure two things:

1. The Admirals are free of a mediocre player on a bad contract. As much as Kaiser is liked around the locker room, he is not worth the money. With many hot prospects needing money for their big league contracts, the players who can't live up to their contracts need to go.

2. Kaiser can frolic to greener pastures. Another SHL Team, KHL, AHL, Europe, whatever. Isaac Kaiser has shown he is incapable of playing in the SHL. If he were to be bought out, he wouldn't be a hot topic on the free agent market, and teams would not be lining up for him to listen to their offers. Honestly, Kaiser would be lucky enough to even be considered for a depth role on a rebuilding SHL team.

So, with this little experiment out of the way. How about the Admirals stick to players who can actually play hockey. The Admirals have a lot of recent draft picks who can step into a bottom 6 role, produce at a higher rate and play better defence such as Teemu Sirius. While Portland may not have any short term replacements for such a useless player like Isaac Kaiser, it is at the utmost haste that they ditch him so that they have a chance of making playoffs and hopefully the Challenge Cup.

Alright, you get all of that Wahlters? Or are you going to extend Kaiser to a 8-year, $73.5 Million dollar contract the minute he needs an extension?
