After their heartbreaking defeat the day before, the Raiders started to pack their gear for the road. Their next stop would be at the Pacific Coliseum, home of the Vancouver Whalers. It was the first home game for Vancouver and they were coming to their rink after a strong victory. However Halifax were looking for a chance to crash the party. A victory in the home of a team they will be facing 10 times during the season would be precious for the team morale of the Raiders.

The first period was rough for the goaltenders on both side of the ice. FourFour Jr. was the first one to be outplayed when Vancouver’s Ouellette slipped one by him after a great pass from Chiclets. The Raiders did not manage to answer the goal right away and, a few minutes after, Chuck Bernstein was sent to the penalty box after hooking a Whalers. Bernstein was however quick to redeem himself after the 2 minutes and scored on Vancouver’s goaltender Carrick Murray. The goal destabilized the netminder who, after hearing the bing of the post on a shot by Boyka Jr. was unable to stop the shot of Downski. The two raiders helped their team take the lead 2-1. However, the whalers never gave up and managed to score two more on Jordin FourFour Jr. during the period. Both goals were scored with 33 seconds between them by Chiclets and Ouellette for his second of the game. While leading 3-2, the tension started to go up between the two team and Kikkoman got caught cross-checking a Raiders at the end of the period. Fortunately for him, Halifax did not manage to score during their power play.

In the first couple of minute of the second period, FourFour Jr. managed to stop 3 shots on the goal. However, Brandon Gauthier of the Whalers found a small opening in the goaler positioning and propulsed the puck in the net. This goal was the end of the night for the Raiders goaltender who was removed of the game. Larry Enticer took his place in the crease of Halifax with the missing to give his team a chance to come back the 4-2 deficit. However, Gauthier did not share this idea and buried his second of the night past Enticer at the 9 minutes mark of the second period. Wit gave a small chance to the Raiders at the end of the second period after being sent to the box for High Sticking, but Halifax attack felt shot.

During the third period, Marino and Downski played with fires after getting caught by the referee for Hooking and Roughing respectively in the first 5 minutes of the period. Fortunately for them, the Penalty Kill unit stayed strong for the team and no one managed to score during the last leg of the game. The Raiders headed back home with a defeat after leaving their goaltender under opposing fire without finding a way to answer.

The unsung hero of the match for the Raiders was Oliviz Klozoff who assisted on the goal of Chuck Bernstein and managed to win 50% of his face-off. He spent 19 minutes and 37 seconds on the ice for the raiders.
