Kelowna Knights S33 & S34 Team Awards</div>
The past two seasons have been busy ones for the Kelowna Knights. In S33, we went on an unlikely run for the threepeat only to be defeated in game seven of the finals by the Montreal Militia. After losing significant members of our team to the SHL, we made a decent showing in the S34 regular season but were knocked out by the Detroit Falcons in round one.

These team awards are to acknowledge the hard work our players have put in and the individual success they’ve enjoyed. And to those who moved on to the SHL for S34 and/or S35, thank you for being a part of this team. Once a Knight, always a Knight.

<div align="center">Erik Chisling Award for Best Defenseman</div>
S33&34: In S33, rookie defenceman Eddie Andrezjeck faced the challenge of filling the spot on our top pairing left by Cara Hohenberg, and he more than lived up to the task. With a point record of 6-22-28 with an AMG of 21 minutes, Andrezjeck held down the blue line for the Knights all season long. He continued that success in S34 with a record of 12-27-39 and an increased responsibility of 23 AMG. He was a crucial part of our special teams for both seasons. Andrezjeck is undoubtedly the best defenseman on the Knights two seasons running, and we’re extremely excited to see what more he can do on the ice this season.

<div align="center">John McBride Award for Playoff MVP</div>
S33: Fully committed to the #neverbeeneliminated slogan and the goal of his third Four Star Cup in a row, Captain Cory Knouse practically dragged the Knights to game seven of the finals by himself. With a record of 12-13-25 in 20 games, 3 game-winning goals, 2 game-tying goals, and 24 average minutes per game, he is undoubtedly our playoff MVP for S33.

<div align="center">Elias Armia Award for Regular Season MVP</div>
S33: Though Cory Knouse was the top scorer on the team in S33, he and John Langabeer were close in almost all respects throughout the season. However, Langabeer made a change from wing to center that was crucial to the Knights’ success. He took on a large burden of ice time with grace, notching 56 points (26 goals, 30 assists) and posting a faceoff percentage of 52.54%, making him our regular season MVP.

S34: In his fourth season with the Knights and his first season wearing an A, Leafer Rielly blew the competition out of the water with his league-leading 65 points (26 goals, 39 assists). His constant presence both on and off the ice was invaluable for the relatively young Knights squad, and when you can’t put a price on a guy, he’s definitely your most valuable player.

<div align="center">Maxim Horvat Award for Top Rookie</div>
S33: We’ve already sung Eddie Andrezjeck’s praises, but he gets another trophy just so we can emphasize that he was that awesome as a young rookie.

S34: Mike Izzy was undoubtedly a steal for the Knights in the draft. Notching a respectable 10-9-19 points and a whopping 107 hits in his rookie season, Izzy provided a much-needed physical edge to our top line and our power play, all while also starting to make a name for himself around the league. We’re lucky to continue to have him in our locker room.

<div align="center">Saku Perhonen Award for Most Exciting Player</div>
S33: In his sophomore season, Halfdan Thorstein proved exactly how much value he had for the Knights. Playing wing on the second line and on both special teams, Thorstein notched a 30-point season. Watching him improve so vastly after his rookie season was definitely exciting for fans and teammates alike.

<div align="center">Riko Muerto Award for Most Underrated Player</div>
S33: Janis Døro provided a much-needed presence in the faceoff dot, taking on the 2C role as a rookie and performing well—posting 9-10-19 points with just 17 average minutes per game. His additional offensive play was quietly crucial for the Knights’ success.

S34: Fedor Shirobokov played a solid rookie season as the physical, defensive counterpart to Eddie Andrezjeck’s offensive power on the top pairing. Playing nearly 20 minutes per game, many of them on the penalty kill, Shirobokov blocked 58 shots, laid 62 hits, and scored 16 points. Shirobokov’s presence on the blue line will only get more crucial in the seasons to come.

<div align="center">Miikka Granlund Award for Best Leadership</div>
S33: As the number of awards he’s won, his stunning stat lines, and the letter on his jersey might suggest, Cory Knouse is the ideal role model for any young Knight. His support and enthusiasm in the locker room are the keys to his excellent leadership.

S34: John Langabeer was the obvious choice to step into Knouse’s shoes as captain, and he delivered. Remaining true to form, he displayed unfailing optimism about the Knights’ success and imparted wise words of advice to the young players on the team.

<div align="center">Jackson Rogers-Tanaka Award for the player who displays outstanding dedication to the team.</div>
S33: Vasily Horvat spent four seasons on the Knights, steadily training to do what he does best: laying out the players on the opposing teams with huge hits and scoring points that the more refined players couldn’t. His dedication to the Knights is unquestionable, and our roster sorely misses him.

<div align="center">Jonathan Lundberg Award for the player who most embodies what it means to be a Knight.</div>
S33: This award goes to a graduating player that bled the green and gold, and Cory Knouse is definitely that player. In fact, we’ve probably bored you with how much we talked about him in this announcement, so we’ll just leave it at that.

S34: Leafer Rielly’s performance and dedication throughout the four seasons he spent with the Knights make him a shoo-in for this award. Despite constantly playing on stacked rosters, Rielly’s tenacity distinguished him, and he’s left a legacy in Kelowna that anyone would be proud to have.

We’re extremely proud of everyone from the S33 and S34 rosters, and we hope to continue bringing success to the Kelowna Knights name! #GKG Knights
