After a great recover against St. Louis, the Raiders headed back home for a good night of rest. They prepared for their next match where they would welcome the Mammoths in their home. The rink filled quick with the Raiders’ fans, hoping to see their team win like the last time they were at port.

The first period didn’t start like the supporter in the bleachers were hoping. A couple of minute after the start of the game, their own Tyler Toews was sent to the penalty box after being caught with an high stick. Mammoths’ Krüger retrieved a puck behind the net of Jordin FourFour Jr. and circled around it to push it in the five hole. Not able to contain themselves, the Raiders kept being punished in the first 20 minutes. Ramrap received a minor for Roughing, Ted Glass was sent to the box after holding down a Mammoths and for a second time, Ramrap was caught tripping another player. Fortunately for Halifax, the penalty kill team and the netminders didn’t allow anything else past them.

During the second period, FourFour Jr. faced a total of 10 shots, managing to block 9 of them. The only one that went in was when Krüger found yet another puck loose in Halifax’s zone and blast it past him, scoring his second of the night. Colorado then gave a golden opportunity to the Raiders to take back this match in hand when a few second after the following Face-off, Garland was seen tripping Downski. While he was sent for a two minutes in the sin bin, the Raiders set up their power play. They were, unfortunately, unable to find any momentum in that attack and it swifted quickly back to the Mammoths after the two minutes.

The Mammoths continued to give charge in the third period when, barely a couple of minutes after the start of the last leg, Creller managed to fool Halifax’s goalie attention and set the score 3-0. Zbyněk put the game out of reach of the Raiders when he capitalized on Wyder’s penalty, who was sent in the box for Roughing, two minutes past the half point of the period. To add a bit of salt on the injuries, Hammersmark was sent to the Mammoths’ sin bin when he hit one of the Raiders with a high stick a few seconds before the end of the game. Despite the effort put in place by the Raiders players, they were not able to help their goaltender in his work, allowing him to be tested 31 times and barely returning half of those shots on Aleksandrov.

The unsung hero of the match for the Raiders was Yuri Boyka Jr.. The young center was able to win almost half of his face-off in the match. He also fired 2 times on Colorado’s net and successfully hit 2 players. He manage to not go into the negative plus/minus in 20 minutes of ice time.
