Cuddling With Drugs: Wild Rookie Year A review of Teddy Cuddles' first season
#1

Teddy Cuddles’ first season in the SMJHL/SHL has been nothing short of a wild ride. Teddy was undrafted because of a little issue he had before the draft. The headline read: “'Teddy Cuddles was found unconscious in a hotel room with 86 cans of WD-40, and a case of Somas, Turns out Teddy likes the smell of WD-40. The Somas were for if the WD didn't get that certain point of high.” You see, Teddy had a bit of a, well how should I put this, problem. Teddy was stright up addicted to the smell of WD-40. Teddy went undrafted while he was in rehab, trying to fix bis problems. One morning when Teddy woke up from his home in this hometown Brooklyn, and saw he was receiving a call from Joe Kortesi, the GM of the St. Louis Scarecrows. Being undrafted, Teddy has been waiting and waiting for a call from an SMJHL team to reach his phone. He began to believe it would not happen, but on that fateful day, Teddy had that phone call with Joe, and thus his SMJHL career began. Teddy signed a 2 million dollar contract with a 1 million dollar signing bonus with St Louis later that day. Being late to the party meant of course, Teddy would be behind most players in terms of their development. Teddy simply did not have the same caliber of training back at home in Brooklyn. Cracking the roster as the fourth line center for St. Louis, he knew that he had a lot of work to do if he wanted his SHL Draft stock to rise and if he wanted to be an impact player, especially since his natural position was right wing. Teddy was determined to train as hard as he could, and to prove to everyone who passed up on him that he was the real deal. Teddy was a workout warrior. If you wanted to find Teddy, chances are you could find him in the gym. or in his room with WD-40. Teddy made a pretty instant impact for his team, scoring his first goal in just his fifth game. Teddy centered the fourth line for the remainder of the season, getting better and better as the year went on. The Scarecrows finished the regular season in first place, meaning they got a first round bye for the playoffs. Teddy was absolutely pumped. Playing on a great team so early in his career was nerve racking but extremely exciting. Suiting up for his first playoff game against the Colorado Mammoths, Roman Augustus, a fellow rookie, who was the person who mentored him throughout the season could tell Teddy was nervous. He walked over and said to Teddy: “No sweat kid, this is all you tonight.” Teddy calmed down and was ready for the game. Unfortunately, the Scarecrows lost the game, and eventually the whole series. The series ended in an insane triple overtime loss. This was very disappointing to Teddy and the team, but everyone was still optimistic about the year and the future. Now that the Scarecrows’ season was over, it was time to focus on offseason training and getting ready for the upcoming SHL Draft. Teddy was not expecting much as he knew he was still behind most of his draft class. He was expecting to go somewhere in the mid to late third round. Eventually draft day came, and Teddy sat down at a table with the rest of his rookie friends from St Louis, Tigole Bitties, Roman Augustus, Finn Jakobsen, Joe Lombardi, and Seth Paige. Teddy was prepared to watch all of his friends to be called up before him, and to be the last man sitting at the table. Teddy watched as Tigole Bitties got drafted 4th, Augustus 12th, Paige 20th, and Jakobsen 24th. Teddy expected to be congratulating Joe on being drafted very soon, but was surprised when the Calgary Dragons called his name to be drafted at the 26th overall pick in the draft. This was a dream come true for Teddy. The Dragons are a great team, and he was going to Calgary alongside Roman Augustus, who was their first round pick. Joe thankfully went shortly after Teddy at the 30th overall pick. Teddy looked forward to his future in Calgary. He was excited to be a part of such a successful and classy organization. Having Roman, and his GM Joe there in Calgary was also a huge plus. Teddy went back and forth with his new GM Esa, and eventually came to terms on a contract. 3 Million dollars for the first year and 2 million for the second. Teddy was thrilled to be a part of the Dragons organization and was relieved that the contract talks got out of the way so quickly. Little did he know that a big change would be coming his way in just a few short minutes. A few minutes after signing his contract, a trade was announced. The Edmonton Blizzards receive Teddy Cuddles and a 1st Round Pick in return for Mike Izzy and a 2nd Round Pick. Teddy was absolutely shell shocked. He had been drinking that night and he thought he was hallucinating but no, the trade was very real. Teddy was contacted by his new GM karlsenss and his old one Esa about the trades and both were very classy. Teddy said his final goodbyes to Esa and Calgary, and said hello to Calgary rival, the Blizzard. Although Teddy was a bit shaken up by the recent events, he was excited to be a part of the Blizzard. Man, this would be a good time for some WD-40...

Clause added to contract -- 20 cases of WD-40. Or should it be free rehab?

Glad to have ya on board, even if you are a... bruins fan. Smile
