The next stop of the Raiders for their 37th match of the season was in colorado, where they would face a team they never defeated so far. The Colorado Mammoths were always an obstacle for the Halifax team and they were looking forward tonight to change the done.

Despite having multiple great opportunities in the first period, it was dominated by the Mammoths. The first occasion came when Suri Uedo was sent to the penalty box after a charging call against him. On the powerplay, the Raiders were opposed to Aleksandr Aleksandrov who was a wall in his net. Not long after the end of the penalty, Asvard Lyszczarczyk was also sent to the sin bin, but for holding. Once again, the Raiders weren’t able to beat the mammoths’ netminder during the following two minutes. It took 7 minutes after the second penalty before everything went to chaos for the Raiders. The first wound was made by Wolf Von Hammersmark, when he beat Jordin FourFour Jr. right under the glove 11 minutes into the game. The second injury was made by Finn Larsson who gave his team a 2-0 lead a few minutes later. The Raiders had a golden opportunity to get back in the game when Colton Hagan received a penalty call for roughing. This time, it was the penalty kill unit who managed to keep the Raiders’ power play at bay. With a minute remaining in the period, the Mammoths leveled their play when Teddy Kesler managed to push the puck behind FourFour Jr. and widen the goals difference between the two teams.

The game was still out of the hand of the Raiders in the second period. Everything started when Dwayne Wyder received a penalty for holding barely 30 seconds after the start of the game. The power play unit of Colorado kept the put on Halifax’s zone during the following 2 minutes. Wyder barely had time to step on the ice to witness Hagan score on his goaltender. After the goal, FourFour Jr. was pulled out of the game after allowing 4 goals on 9 shots and Larry Enticer took his place. The Raiders had an opportunity to score during Mark Ruggeri’s penalty after a check from behind, but didn’t manage to crack the Mammoths’ defensive squad.

The last leg of the game started on a decent note for the Raiders, but not exactly how they expected it. Barely 30 seconds after the period started, Daedric Heikennin and Ted Glass were punished for tripping and interference respectively. They played about 20 seconds on 4 vs 4 until Trucker Grogan was sent into the box for interference, sending his team into a 4 vs 3 penalty kill. They managed to kill it off, but had difficulty gaining the momentum. Fortunately, the troops woke up when Chuck Bernstein managed to beat Aleksandrov right over the shoulder. The rest of the game happened mostly in the Mammoths zone after Hagan received a penalty for roughing. However, the Raiders only managed to score again only with 6 seconds remaining in the game when Oliviz Klozoff buried the puck past the netminder. With no time remaining on the clock, the Raiders faced their longest losing streak of the season with the the 6th in a row.

The unsung hero of the match for the Raiders was Chuck Bernstein. During his 19 minutes on the ice, Bernstein had 3 shots on the goal and managed to cash on one of them. He also landed 3 hard hits on the other team.
