I'd disagree there. When you go into analysis on goaltenders you'll find that they have surprising depth in their strengths and weaknesses. It's just rarely anything easy to point at.
What I mean is no name goal tenders come in and put up nice numbers in the NHL. Anders Nilsson had the same save pct as Carey price this season: .923, while the league average is .914. We know Carey is a stud, while Nilsson is a nobody.

I love how this gets brought up even though the two highest TPE earners are leading the league.  Prob could of chosen a better season to start this argument.

1 Ekaterina Rudnikova (EDM) 10 0.928 TPE: 726
2 Michael McFadden (SEA) 12 0.924 TPE: 1,679
3 Hunter Wong (CAL) 18 0.918 TPE: 864
4 Jeff Kirkstone (POR) 16 0.917 TPE: 1,190
5 Mark Harter (TOR) 16 0.914 TPE: 887
6 Georgette Pel (TEX) 17 0.911 TPE: 1062
7 Matt Lewis-Flood (WKP) 15 0.909 TPE: 1242
8 Robert Andersson (MIN) 15 0.908 TPE: 1,477
9 Casey Holmes (BUF) 17 0.907 TPE: 1101
10 Lukas Berger (WIN) 18 0.906 TPE: 1200

Jason Aittokallio (MAN) 17 0.897 TPE: 1121
Mikke Laukkanen (NEW) 17 0.896 TPE: 1430
Timo Haas (LAP) 16 0.888 TPE: 1,235

Not sure where you got the idea the two highest TPE earners are leading the league, from.

Alonzo Garbanzo Final Tallies (Among Defensemen):
2nd in Goals (208), All-Time Assists Leader (765)*, All-Time Points Leader (973), 3rd in Hits (2587), All-Time Blocked Shots Leader (1882)*
*All-Time Leader Among All Skaters

One of the reasons I made another goalie was because the update scale wasn't whack as fuck so I wouldn't have to TPE whore this player to be good.

The position does get boring and frustrating at times, but that's how goalies are RL. Obviously the inconsistencies are more shown in the sim than in RL

On another hand, I wouldn't be opposed to goalies startingregressing a few seasons after players

It's funny to see so many people complain about how it sucks to be a goalie, when the feelings of goalies is the biggest reason why we never changed sim engine version. I find the irony palatable.
