I walked out from the Scarecrows locker room after our loss feeling pretty sad. My juniors career was over, but I was going up to the SHL. Immediately, I got a call from Cody Fletcher, Ireland head, who brought me good news. “Joey, your transfer has been authorized. You're officially an Ireland player!”, he said. My mood was immediately brought up, and I walked back into the locker room with good news. "Guys," I said, "My Ireland transfer has been authorized. I finally get to play in the IIHF tournament!" Roman Augustus and Dermot Lavelle ran up to me and gave me high fives (both are Ireland players), Teddy Cuddles got a bit mad at me because he's a huge patriot and loves America (I transferred from the US to Ireland), and everyone else just congratulated me.

Before everyone's like, "Why did you transfer?", I had reasons. Sure, the USA is a great team with talents like Joe Kurczewski, Luke Fleming, and Jason Visser, but that huge talent pool was the reason why I transferred. I pretty much had no chance of cracking the USA roster, so I wanted to transfer somewhere else. I talked to Kurczewski, the USA head, and told him about my plans to transfer. He wasn't happy, but knew I wasn't gonna play for the US. (Sorry <a href='index.php?showuser=2310' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-10'>JKortesi81</a>! When I was allowed to contact IIHF teams about transferring, Ireland was the first team on my list. Latvia was also a candidate, but I decided that Ireland would be a better place for me. I get to play with Augustus and Lavelle again, which is nice, plus I get to play with talents like Fletcher, Ronnie Westbrook, Pedro Sarantez, Leafer Reilly, and Conklin Owen. I’m looking forward to playing in the S37 IIHF tournament, and hopefully we make it to the medal rounds.
