Task 1:

Svatoslav Bodnar had one of the longer off-seasons in the SHL as the Seattle Riot were eliminated from play-off contention during the season. Bodnar took Iqbal to his hometown in Ukraine to show him the wonders the country has to offer. Iqbal had a great time learning to drive the infamous "lada" and learning how to be a farmer. Retirement is coming soon for him so having an extra set of useful skills never hurts. Bodnar caught a few games of the SHL playoffs, but didn't follow them too much. He spent time with his family and favourite cow Bernard. Bodnar enjoys his time back home as it reminds him of simpler times when hockey was just for fun. With Iqbal retiring, more weight has been put on Bodnar as the new #1 defensemen for Seattle. Finally with the extension he signed he is now in it for the long haul. Svatoslav hopes he can continue to improve his game.

Task 2:

With the Finals over, my choice for playoff MVP would have to go to the goon of the Panthers, Danny Foster. An art being lost on the newer generation of SHL players, Foster shows that the goon still has it's place on a SHL team. With 9 points in 8 games he shows that a scoring touch is complemented well with a physical presence. With an astounding 36 hits thus far, he is truly the enforcer the Panthers envisioned. Foster is third in scoring in the defencedne category, a few points shy of the living legend Alonzo Garbonzo. For a man who is not suppose to score a lot he sure is keeping up with the big guns in the league. Wether or not he is playing over his head, or has found a new part to his game, Danny Foster should defiantly be considered a candidate for playoff MVP.

Task 6:

These playoffs have shown that having a solid defensive corps is key to any Challenge Cup contender. My choices for series MVP have to go to Alonzo Garbonzo of the Chiefs, and Danny Foster for the Los Angeles Panthers. Alonzo Garbonzo is a living legend with HOF written all over his amazing career. With only Darian Scherbluk blocking his way from being the undisputed #1 defensemen of all time, its easy to see him as the series MVP with his leadership playing a key role in the Finals. The goon Danny Foster on the other hand is having the time of his life putting up amazing numbers thus far in the post season. With 9 points in 8 games, it is possible that Foster takes home the MVP honours if he is able to keep up his torrid pace. There is no true #1 favourite for the trophy this season, as both these players are playing extremely well.
