Welcome to the IIHF's opening ceremony! I'm Coach Biz and ill be your post written host! and while we are all dreaming about gold medals and nationalistic pride, its been quite a while since someone has put together an all-encompassing report on the leagues most illustrious tournament... This absence has left gaps of information about the IIHF lost to its fan base. So on our tournaments 20th anniversary let's try and bridge that gap as we review the current state of affairs of the International Ice Hockey Federation for season 41!

Each season 12 sovereign nations of all sizes choose there 20 best players to compete in a 10 game round robin tournament. 8 of those 12 teams will advance to the medal rounds in an exciting 1 game elimination contest for a chance at league immortality!  Unlike the SHL where you can ease into a 50 game schedule.. International play is 1 week of high stakes hockey with the pressure mounting as soon as you step on the ice!

The Transfer process:
Now a players birth place determines which nation they will play for. Each player also has an option to transfer 1 time during the course of their career...."as long as they have not played in a game with their original nation."

The transfer process has been a hot debate topic for IIHF die hards. The eligible player list for the bigger nations run 4 to 1 on the smaller countries so their needs to be a system in place to allow a broader playing field.  Some don't mind it, they look at that 1 transfer as a player having duel eligibility who gets to make a choice on which country to play for. .. others feel that any player movement waters down the excitement of international play. I am not here to sway any opinions but to explain the strategics and gameplay that the current system offers.

In the IIHF the managerial experience is determined heavily by what nation you represent. if you are a small nation.. your job is to play offense!  to stay active.. to make sure that your 1 transfer each season is useful and try to turn your country into a place that players want to play at!... and if you're a big country your playing defense until the tourney.. as you strategize which of your many choices to lock in.. and how to sell your country to those players on your roster who are waiting for a oppertunity.

The cat and mouse strategics for these young new players has grown fierce over the past few seasons as new and engaged GM's join the IIHF eager to make a name for themselves and their countries!  I'm here to let it be known that there is a growing rivalry between federation heads.  Internally debates have heated up,  Some managers have made strides on the ice and in there locker rooms which has made other teams annoyed .. and some are finding creative new ways to engage the audience which has sparked some jealousy.. you put that together and what we have here is an IIHF that's begun to simmer from within.. which has created a new energy that's moving to into the leagues collective consciousness.

Lets take a look at our nations and the federation heads that lead them....

This was suppose to be a glorious offseason for team USA after capturing last season's IIHF Gold Medal! But their ticker tape parade and media tour were overshadowed by a major quarrel within team ranks, centered around controversial prospect Logan Jensen. On the verge of being called up the team was notified of Jensens arrival which did not sit well with team captain Alexis Metzler and top line defenseman Charles Walker. Both refused to share a locker room with their newest team-mate and in protest both players left team USA, declaring themselves unavailable for this seasons tournament! what ensued was a team fight which played out in front of the media! Team USA took this issue straight to the IIHF to review some murky rules on player eligibility... ultimately the IIHF ruled in favor of the team, forcing Metzler and Walker to play.

The clubhouse took another hit with the departure of 2 of their best young prospects in Flacco Lagerfield, the 1st pick in the S40 draft who transferred to Austria and a future build around defenseman in Brady McIntyre who left for the Czechs! It's unknown whether the clubhouse issues played a part in these 2 players leaving Team USA but it is clear that these distractions have taken the spotlight away from one of the best roster grids in the world and their magical run in S40 which landed them their 3rd goal medal.

2 Danny Foster -Clint Eastwood
3 The Dude- Ben Turska
4 Danny Foster -Alexis Metzler

Goalies:
1 Richard C. Hocolate
2 Cèdric Moreau

What to look out for:
With the retirements of Luke Flemming and Jack Burton, USA has called up Logan Jensen who will get his 1st shot at international play on the teams 3rd line. It's unknown who will replace Burton in the line up.. but one of the rumors out of the washington post is the possibility of calling up young defenseman Daniel Karlsson and shifting him over to forward for this tournament. Daniel is the son of long time rengade center Sven Karlsson.

S41 Outlook:
USA has some of the best players on the planet including a top line which boasts Joe Kurczewski and Jason Visser who accumulated almost 140 points between them in the SHL's regular season. Inspite the turmoil, Metzler and Walker are playing so theirs no reason to believe that this team wont compete for another medal.

The 20's were real good to team Czechoslovakia as their much respected founder Marek Vyskoč led a team of top young talent into battle. Over his 14 year span as federation head the Czecks tallied off 9 medal round appearances while successfully capturing 2 silver medals! But the pass off between Vyskoč and the next general manager did not run smoothly and in the post Vyskoč era Czechoslovakia seemed content with relying on what was now an aging roster grid. While Czechoslovakia is known for their hockey, this is still a small nation who could not afford to abandon their prospects as they quickly plummeted to the bottom of the world rankings.

Something had to be done and in season 38 Czechoslovakia turned too Coach Blastmeaway to step in and come up with a system for developing young talent, before the nations lineage was forgotten. Blast quickly turned his sights to the youth movement in an aggressive marketing scheme which re-energized the country while producing some excellent new Czhecks led by last seasons alternate captains Dionýz Vyskoč and Alexander Zajac! Other talented young guns began to surface which included Matej Elias, Cash Savage, Radovan Huvec, Piotr Czerkawski and Nico Gross! Team Czecks continued there aggressive ways with the acquisition of Brady McIntyre... the IIHF's top transfer in S40! McIntyre is expected to lead a young group on the blue line which include Kevin Maddox and Troy McClure III who are promising figures in the SMJHL.

2 Ty Justice-Kornel Kasparek
3 Pierre-Luc Laflamme-Kornel Kasparek
4 Noctis Caelum-Jakub Trocheck

Goalie:
1 Johnny Yuma
2 Bartholomew Cechove

What to look out for:
Over the past few seasons we've seen some Czech Legends retire in the likes of Slappy McDoodle, Schnitinfritz Jagr, Georgette Pel, and Pierre-Luc Laflamme. This has left the top end of team Czhecks empty, requiring these new younger players to step in and play top line minutes against some of the worlds best.

S41 Outlook:
Its been 6 seasons since Czechoslovakia made the medal rounds but the country showed forward movement in S39 ending 2-3-5 and staying competitive in every game. Team Czechoslovakia's core group of players will be similar to last season, but should be a bit more seasoned. The Czechs may need another few years before moving into medal contention, but Blastmeaway has moved this nation back into relevance as a team with a plan and a nation on the rise.

изменение which in english means 'Change'... is the word being spoken by those who scout team Russia after the recent retirements of Andrey Barbashev, Cynthia Taylor, Maria Maximova and team captain Sabastian Strange. The big red machine was a power house in the 30's capped by a gold medal in season 38! but since than the retirements of these soviet greats have affected their play as Russia's won just 4 of there last 20 games over the past 2 tournaments. Team Russia is still quite talented though, especially at forward where roster mainstays like Pietra Volkova, Zach Evans, and Vasily Horvat lead the charge with Yuri Boyka, Jr. and Vijanupatan Singh coming into their own. Russia loves to build from within and premiers some of its best young talent on the teams 4th line while they grow in the juniors. but the retirements have left a glaring hole within the soviet blue line as the active core of their defense is young and not quite ready to win those 1000+ TPE matchups. This roster imbalance requires some patience, but as they develop, Team Russia should boast a dynamic core which should put them back in the medal mix for seasons to come.

Team Russia is led by Coach Pris who will take part in her 12th round robin tournament which is the 2nd longest current tenor in the IIHF! Throughout her coaching career,Russia’s first priority has always been 'activity' as many of their skaters have earned a place on the teams starting roster at sub-250 TPE levels, even with higher level inactives available. Under Coach Pris if you are an active soviet skater you WILL receive a oppertunity which makes Russia a friendly destination for a young player. Russia is 1 of 2 nations that do not use a co-federation head, but those close to the team report a strong leadership group led by Zach Evans who has previous IIHF GM experience and is looked upon to forfill those duties when needed.

Projected Line up:
5 vs 5 Forward
1 Zach Evans-Patrikov Bure-Pietra Volkova
2 Yuri Boyka Jr.-Vijanupatan Singh-Vasily Horvat
3 Artemi Berezin-Daniel Daniil-Yuriy Starkonov
4 Dayymo Ralchankinov-Boris Denisovich-Rurik Razin

5 vs 5 Defense
1 Viatcheslav Orlov-Ostap Maksimov
2 Maxim Poulin-Ti-Guy Emond
3 Viktor Kolesnikovs-Mikhail Petrikov
4 Viatcheslav Orlov-Mikhail Petrikov

Goalie:
1 Evgueni Marmeladov
2 Katya Rudnikova

What to look out for:
Russia is about to pass the torch in-goal as long time netminder Katya Rudnikova will be replaced by up-and-coming star Evgueni Marmeladov who will make his international debut between the pipes in 41!. Evgueni has had the chance to develop quite a bit, and is ready for his shot.

After quite the tenure, Sabastian Strange has retired leaving a hole on the team's top line and a vacant captaincy...Russia expects to announce their new captain closer to the tournament.

S41 Outlook:
Russia is the trojan horse of the tournament. a 4-15-1 record over the past 2 seasons may have teams looking past there match up with the soviets, but that forward core is to strong and too deep to ignore and if they can find ways to shield their defensive unit this could be a team right in the mix for the medal rounds.

There were no lucky charms for the team in green from seasons 25 to 34.. a 9 season span which watched Team Ireland suffer through 4 GM's, and 9 straight losing seasons!.. in one of the worst runs in tournament history! But in season 36 Ireland finally struck gold with the hiring of 2 young highly active managers in Evok and TheDangaZone. These 2 new faces of ireland quickly got to work by opening a new team locker room, creating new uniforms and agressively going after a large number of unassigned players from non IIHF countries. This influx of exciting new energy lured 2 of the premier young talents on the market in Casey Creller and Hercules Rockefeller!

TDZ eventualy took over as the teams top Federation Head, and since that time Ireland has made the medal rounds 3 out of 4 tournaments resulting in a silver and bronze medals! which was the first taste of success since the early 20's. It's a remarkable turn around that has a bit of that irish luck as TDZ built this roster from the ground up and on paper seemed alittle too young to compete for a medal. This bodes well for the future of Team Ireland who continues to trend upwards with each passing season.

Overall Ireland is still fairly young team with a dynamic core anchored by a monster blue line which showcases the likes of Westbrook, Tanner, Creller, Spitfire, O’Callaghan, and Augustus.. with a world class talent in net with Olli O’Koivu, the IIHF's top goalie in season 39.

Scouting Ireland

Projected Line up:
5 vs 5 Forward
1. Conklin Owen- Oisin Fletcher - Leafer Rielly
2. Eric Pelletier - Joseph Lombardi - Hercules Rockefeller
3. Dermot Lavelle - Bobby Watson - Conor McGregor
4. Paddy Kane-Reilly - Iam Essellemm - Howie Dewitt

5 vs 5 Defense
1. Roman Augustus - Ronnie Westbrook
2. Jack Tanner - Spitfire
3. Casey Creller - Liam O’Callaghan
4. Ronnie Westbrook - Roman Augustus

Goalie
1 Olli O'Koivu
2 Beaujeaux Biscuit

What to look out for:
Watch out for the next wave of irish prospects in this upcoming tournament. Howie Dewitt has looked good in camp and is excpected to win a spot on the 20 man roster. Conor McGregor should make his international debut on the Irish's 3rd line. Look for Dermot Lavelle who should see big minutes this season after a spectacular rookie campaign with the Buffalo Stampede. and expect a big role for Eric Pelletier who is stepping in as Irelands 2nd line center With Ronnie Westbrook’s switch to the blue line.

S41 Outlook:
If there is a weakness on Ireland it might be at forward depth... but it’s not that they’re weak there, it’s just that they’re still quit young and some of those young players are manning the 3rd line. Ireland's roster is moving into its sweet zone as allot of there players are headed into those prime time years.. We expect this team to move past the round robin and then look for some of that irish luck in the medal rounds.

The main reason for this article was to re-introduce our nations to the site. But Austria may be the only team that doesn't need that introduction as they are far and away the most media friendly country in the IIHF. From exciting games at the Lord-Vader dome to their popular team signatures.. Coach Biz has done a masterful job in creating an identity for this small piece of land in Europe. It's no big secret that IIHF officials want the big countries like Canada and the United States leading the way in fanfare and intrigue, ask them and they will tell you this themselves!....but right now Austria has seized a chunk of that spotlight through consistent information and top-notch marketing making them one of the most recognized countries in the federation.

Of course it wasnt always this way for Austria, losers of 44 of there first 66 round robin games this was an irrelevant nation with in the international community. In season 27 Coach Vader came along with the understanding that Austria simply doesn't generate enough prospects to sustain a functional team and put forth a recruitment plan that centered around transfers.. This new strategy helped move Austria into relevance and ultimately into medal contention with a bronze in 29 and their first gold medal in S33! Coach Biz took over in S37 with a plan of his own that included a relentless recruitment scheme which has produced players like Jordin FourFour Jr., Chippy Chiclets, Gabriel Wong, Richard Physt, Scooter McGavin and Flacco Lagerfield over his 4 year span as GM... putting together one of the better young rosters in the tournament!

Their detailed approach and active locker room has quickly made this team a great landing spot for the serious international player. Austria hasn't won a medal since 33, but has made the medal rounds 7 of the last 9 tournaments with their closest chance coming last season where they lost to Germany in the Bronze Medal game.

2 Chippy Chiclets-Hunky Monkey
3 Richard Physt-Nucky Toohoots

Goalies:

What to look out for:
Lord Vader who was last seasons best IIHF defenceman has officialy retired. This will also be Nucky Tahootes final run at international play, leaving some holes within the Austrian blue line. Jon Ross and Karl Hefeweizen now become the teams top paired defensive unit with SHL rookie Richard Physt set for more playing time.

Austria moves Gabriel Wong, Mikhail Lokitonov and Yannick Burger up the line up as all 3 have unbanked for the tourny, while Shooter McGavin and Flacco Lagerfield recieve an invite to camp in hopes to play their way onto this seasons 20 man roster. Also, After 14 seasons and 2 medals, Don Pellegrino has been inducted into Team Austria's hall of fame.

S41 Outlook:
The pundits in our predictions post typically have this country outside of their groups top 4, but it may be hard to keep them off your medal round brackets this season, even in a tough bracket as the Austrians are coming into the tourny with more weapons then they had last season where they finished 4th of 12. Austria has a powerful group of forwards and a top flight goalie.. Blue line depth and there top 4's ability to play lots of productive minutes will be the key to this teams tourament.

Canada's been the gold standard of IIHF hockey since they stepped on the ice and went on to win medals in 7 straight seasons! With a constant supply of talent and resources expectations are always sky-high in the great white north. but during the late 20's and into the 30's the country began to take their privilege for granted.. Management watched while other nations advanced their strategics and built up their programs with the latest technologies.. Suddenly much of Team Canada's experience seemed dated and just putting top talent on the ice wasnt enough to win. The country had seen enough after missing the medal rounds in 3 consecutive seasons as they parted ways with old management and hired Robert Phelps, a young rising star in the Canadian coaching scene.

Phelps began updating team Canada.. a discord locker room, new equipment, additional media and a new set of line formations which reignited a dormant roster! Canada made the medal rounds in all 6 seasons of Phelps tenor including 2 bronze medals and a gold in 39! Coach Nour and Flappy took over and have picked up where Phelps left off, winning 7 of 10 games and a quarter finals appearance in last seasons tournament.

4 Ben Dover -Adam Kaiser

Goalies:
1 Jeff Kirkstone

What to look out for:
This will be Jeff Kirkstone's final season as the long-standing starter of Team Canada. Jae Bae is set to take the position in S42 and may see some additional starts this tournament to better prepare her for the role. A position battle is set to take place for the back up goalie spot set to open in 42. Look for Chris Partridge, the team's top under 18 IIHF goalie to win the spot.

S41 Outlook:
On paper team Canada is all but a lock for the medal rounds. Allot of their success in those high leverage games will fall on coach Nour and his ability to implement the right strategies while finding cohesion within the lineup.

31 coaches have changed teams during WannabeFinn's reign as head of Team Finland. He along with Esa Anrikkanen have provided this nation strategy and stability of the highest levels. The results have been eye opening as Finland boasts 7 medals and 17 medal round appearances in the tournaments 20 seasons!.. and while Finland typically has its fair share of home grown talent, when you compare there eligible players list with the rest of the federation theres a case to be made that Team Finland is one of the most successful nations in the IIHF!

This seasons roster starts with defense as Jason Aittokallio, the 2 time IIHF top goalie resides behind a highly skilled defensive group consisting of Toivo Kosonen, Matthew Leetch, Eero Hamalainen, Alek Koivu and Tatu Makela. These 5 along with Ensio Kalju who's a rising star in the SMJHL form one of the best defenses in the IIHF! and for the 4th straight tournament the fins will look to the Linna, Wozy and Anrikkanen line to supply the bulk of their offense.

2 Eero Hamalainen -Alek Koivu
3 Ensio Kalju -Tatu Makela
4 Toivo Kosonen -Matthew Leetch

Goalies:
1. Jason Aittokallio
2 Mikke Laukkanen

What to look out for:
Thunder Jones took a big step forward in the SHL this season and is looking like one of the best up and coming players for Finland. Thunder comes into camp with a primary role as the playmaker of the teams 2nd line.

S41 Outlook:
Finland may not possess the fire power that some of the other nations have, but they play a strong team game and they know how to win.. and that's a recipe that will make them tough to beat this season.

Many consider team Germany the flagship nation for the IIHF purist as outside of the United States and Canada.. it's the Germans who produces the most home-grown talent in the federation. The investment begins at the earliest levels of hockey as scouting and resources get pumped into their youth programs which follow their prospects through the levels and straight into the IIHF.. From Tomen to Sleepy to Shibirokov...this FUBU mentality is consistent with each Federation head.. and its a strategy that has paid off as 17 of the teams 20 man roster is of German citizenship!

Germany has a lot of young talent patiently waiting for their chance as their team veterans continue to perform at high levels. Players like Nikolaus Scholz, Lord Pretty Flacko, Dieter Dominique, Geronimo Otto, Bubba Nuck, Zander Rhys and Klaus Wagner have all played a part in Germany's 11 straight medal round appearances resulting in 4 medals! Coach Shibirokov has recently promoted the 1st wave of young talent with the additions of Oliver Konig, Fredrich Koenig and Karsten Kadinger to the teams bottom lines.

But if there is a concern on this roster its in the crease as Germany runs out Freddy LaFlamme in-goal.. a solid young netminder with limited experience and a 525 player build which straddles the line between 'Pedestrian' and 'Adequate' for this level of competition... along with a backup that is 350 capped in the SMJHL.

S41 Outlook:
Germany has enough talent to breeze through the round robin, but if they are to do something special there going to need LaFlamme to use all 525 of his TPE to the best of his ability, and hope that Benjamin Blue doesnt have to come in to a game.

Latvia is one of the smallest nations in IIHF, but one that is active and close-knit... and it's because of this that the Federation's focus in recruiting has been one of quality over quantity as coaches Carbine and Jogurtaa look for players that will blend in to the community with the likelihood of meeting and or exceeding their perceived potential.

Team Latvia believes that have begun to put those pieces together with the recent additions of Alex Andani, Kristaps Ball, Eriks Skalbergs and Maui!.. top young talent who have been added over the past few seasons and will be leaned on heavily along side some of their young but more seasoned players in Kire Yelkrab, Florence Clijsters, Viktor Marius, Edgars Skalde and Jean-Luc Picard... Latvia's job for now is to nurture this youth movement with the hopes and expectations that they will develop into household names on the international stage.

Issac Cormier-Hale and Svatoslav Bodnar spearhead team Latvia's defensive corps as they continue to develop their defensive depth. While in net Roberts Klavins is the perceived successor to their star goalie Artom Zhumbayev.

What to look out for:
For team Latvia its all about the youth! look out for those positional battles in camp to determine which of Kristaps Ball, Marius Danke or Eriks Skalbergs find their way onto the 20 man roster.

S41 Outlook:
Team Latvia has missed the medal rounds in 4 of their last 5 tournaments and while the results have been poor it's not been unexpected.. as the affairs of the Latvian squad have entered a deep rebuilding stage. High leverage games may be a few seasons away, but look for this young and engaged roster to improve upon their 7 point performance from last season.

The waters been murky for the Swedes since season 37 as the team has teetered between group stage and the medal rounds.. and much of their unpredictability centers around the retirement of Robert Anderssen. The 3 time IIHF goalie of the year and one of the best netminders to ever set foot on the international stage was a major contributor to the success of their country which boasts 4 team medals during his 11 year career! Hockey is a religion in Sweden but at the time of Anderssens departure there wasnt a capable goalie in the system.. actually, there wasnt a goalie at all!

As the IIHF prepared for S38, Coach Insayne and staff scoured the country looking for anyone who could block a puck! there search led them off-land to Canada where Sweden lured Sabastian Primeau to take the position. The good news for Sweden is they landed a ubber talented young goalie! the bad news is they forced him into international play before he was ready and his on the job training against the best in the world has resulted in some up and downs.

Across the roster grid team Sweden boasts some of the best hockey players in the world. Players like Lundberg, Eriksson, Forsberg, and Crossfit Jesus man the forward positions...while Garbanzo, Holmberg and Tusk showcase a talented veteran defense! There also a deep team with some emerging young stars in Dick Skillstedt, Blabar Bananerstrom, Elias Lindstrom and Sven Brokstad. Once Sweden stabilizes in net, they should be back to their consistent stint with in the medal rounds.

2 Sven Brokstad -Brynjar Tusk

1 Sebastien Primeau

What to look out for:
Look for Blabar Bananerstrom and Sven Brokstad to take on key roles this season with the retirements of swedish greats Jed Lloren and Vlad Lindstrom.

S41 Outlook:
Although Primeau's build roars past the 500's...he comes into this tournament still capped at 350, so much of Swedens success will have to come from there high octane offence as they ride the roller coaster for one more season.

Quick Mafs, Maurice Picard, Bob Bergen, Danny Mete and Reginald MacIntyre.. You may not have heard of these guys yet but they are making a name for themselves on the global stage. These are the united Kingdom defenders and some of the best blue liners to come out of the past few drafts... and thats what's made last seasons silver medal run so improbable as there isnt a defender within the group above the 800 TPE mark! Jasper Clayton, these young D-Men and the oldest forward group in the IIHF found magic together and credit should be given to Coach Nobody.. a rookie GM who was intrusted with the Kingdom after Eggy stepped down and moved into the front office in S38.

Over his 3 season span as federation head, Nobody has done an excellent job finding the next generation of UK talent... but that task should get significantly harder moving forward as Raven Silverwing prepares for his last tournament. This could also be Nicholas Pedersons swan song... in total there are 6 starters with 13 proffesional seasons under their belt with another 4 who have played more then 10! But while this group is together they form a dangerous unit with the skill and experience to make another run at a medal.

Scouting United Kingdom

5 vs 5 Forward
1 Randy Randleman -Jack Durden -Ace Redding
2 Xander Green -Jacob Renninger -Raven Silverwing
3 Dakota Reid -TJ Bayley -Nicholas Pedersen
4 Frederick Boone -Reginald Rove -Danny Mete

5 vs 5 Defense
1 Jasper Clayton -Cameron Dubois
2 Quick Mafs -Maurice Picard
3 Bob Bergen -Reginald MacIntyre
4 Maurice Picard -Jasper Clayton

Goalie:
1 Michael McFadden
2 Mark Stewart

What to look out for:
Keep an eye out for young defenceman Bob Bergen who just moved up to the SHL and is in the running for the rookie of the year award, Bergen's increased role should add some needed strength to the UK defence. Reginald Rove saw limited minutes in his debut to international play.. now unbanked and playing for Manhatten, Rove could be in line for more minutes in this seasons tourny.

S41 Outlook:
The young UK defenders were up to the task in S39, but the same concerns still linger here in S40 as they will have to win their assignments against defenders with higher skilled player builds. Allot is riding on them and the play of their guardian in goal, Michael Mcfadden.

Theirs allot to be proud of if you are a fan of Norway. A nation with just 33 eligible players have produced 2 bronze, 2 silvers and a gold medal over the past 8 seasons! With Norway its been quality over quantity as they showcase some of the finest scorers in the planet.. players like Chris York, the consensus top forward in the world and Corey Knouse who may be the worlds 2nd best player after dominating the SHL with a 66 point season! It doesn't get any easier at the blue line where Norway throws out Wyatt Wolker, Mia, Landvik, Big Manius, Tor Tuck and Karno Gronkjaer... everything you would want from a defensive unit is there, including intimidation! Quality over quantity also applies to their front office where count_chocula's 15 seasons as federation head is the longest active tenor in the IIHF.

Scouting Norway

5 vs 5 Forward
1 Jean-Luc Reflieux -Kyle Kylrad -Cory Knouse
2 Chris York -Zanarkand Abes -Halfdan Thorstein
3 Anders Christiansen -Mikkel Haugen -Lyndis Vakarian
4 Jean-Luc Reflieux -Kyle Kylrad -Luuk Kraaijkamp

5 vs 5 Defense
1 Wyatt Wollker-Mia Landvik
2 Isak Odegard -Big Manious
3 Tor Tuck -Karno Gronkjaer
4 Jon Tellofsen-Wyatt Wollker

Goalies:
1 Tommy Tuck
2 Grim Wastlund

What to look out for:
Coming off a 34 point rookie season with Toronto, look for Luuk Kraaijkamp to win a spot on the teams 3rd line and ready to play some heavy minutes.

S41 Outlook
Team Norway will look to build upon their quarter finals loss in S40. Where Norway could struggle is in net where Tommy Tuck and Grim Wastlund man the crease. Scouts view Tuck as a future John McBride winner, but for now Tommy's 655 player build opens him up to some bad outings. Wastlund is the back up and is not ready to compete at the international level. Norway will relay heavily on their defenders to limit the activity aimed towards Tuck.
