Oh shit hi Nike!

Also I'd say technically yeah but if you think about it and let's say someone offers you a sandwich but gives you a hotdog I'd feel kinda irritated about it  Laughing

If we define a Sandwich as meat/substance between two pieces of bread, then technically yes.

However, if better defined by its own subsection/name, it overrides the general classification of it being a sandwich and becomes it's moniker: hotdog, hamburger.

But that basic and general understanding of a sandwich would make a taco, quesadilla technically sandwiches which is wilder than a hotdog.

If someone says lets go get a sandwich and presents me with a hotdog...they will find said hotdog in an orfice not used for eating.

Just because its surrounded by bread doesn’t make it a sandwich!

I like the idea of
A. Sandwich being two individual pieces of bread sitting under and above the substance in the middle.

B. A Roll is when one piece of bread is either sliced, still connected or able to function the same when connected. This would include hotdogs and tacos.

C. The Pocket, when the piece of bread entirely encapsulates the substance. Wraps, Shwarma, calzone, burrito would fall under this subsection.

You put something between two pieces of something - you got yourself a sandwich. I still consider one bun sliced halfway through to be two pieces of something. I know , maybe I am crazy.
