Regression Compensation
#1

I would like to bring up a topic with the league about any player who experienced regression having it pushed back from the current scaling system. I say this because I've experienced two seasons of regression and lowered attributes. Fast forward another 8 seasons and players in my situation, in their 8th season, would not have had 2 seasons where they played with lost regression points.

With that said, I propose any player who had regression in the old scale be exempt from the effects of regression in the new scale based on how many years they've already endured of regression. Season 1 and 2 players would be affected only.

Thoughts?

the years you experienced regression were taken into account during the re-distribution process

Okay great, how exactly were they taken into account?

(Edit: I'm not the most knowledgeable about how the entire redistribution process went down.)

well the points you lost from each year of regression were added onto your redistributing point total.

but you still did play 2 years with regression right?
before we re-distributed.
so yea i agree with what youre saying

Yes sir, all of us regression doods got our points back but still doesn't make up for the fact we've played 2 seasons with regression affecting us. Cheers

Bad luck, imho Wink

You got all the points you lost so far back during re-distribution and I think that should do it. Although I get your point and see why you'd like some sort of compensation.

I would stand firm by what you were saying, if Dar was still around...

BUT I AGREE WITH YOU!

I understand how that makes sense, however, how would it work? Sure you wouldn't be regressed for an extra 2 seasons, but then it completely takes away from regression, doesn't it? Because then S1 and S2 players will regress at the same rate as S3 and S4 players.

I understand what you're trying to say, however it doesn't exactly make sense in my mind to do this

Then what would be wrong with giving S1 and S2 players a push on when they begin regression in the new scale?

That is what I'm suggesting here.

Why doesn't it? Think of it this way. In you scenario both S1 and S2 players would be starting regression the same year as S3/S4 players. Now say these players all played 12 seasons in their career, they each still would have played with 3 seasons of regression affecting them.

The only slight complication is how regression worked from then and now.

I understand what you're saying, but with the points given back to the players who were affected by regression, that was somewhat a compensation. Now S1 and S2 players did play a season or two under regressed stats, which could have affected their play, so I get where you're coming from.

I wouldn't exactly be opposed to it, but would probably need a little bit of tweaking for me. What if S1 and S2 players who were already affected by regression in the past have a slightly lower percentage when it comes to their "new" regression kicking in?

thats a better idea imo
considering the regression scale for S1 and S2 guys was different than the new regression scale

With that said then, do we all believe that the new system scale has more of a harsh regression? I assume that not giving 1 or 2 seasons of non-regression and just lowering the penalty of S1/S2 player regression for those years instead would imply that.

Where is the new scale? I can't locate it anywhere

That would be nice to add to this conversation. If regression is "equal" then I don't see any reason not to just push back the regression for those who qualify for "compensation" seasons.

As for the new scale, the only thing I know for sure is that it is a % off all of your attributes. I think it may be hard to say one is worse than the other though, we'll see.

Can anyone post the new regression here? I can't find it either.
