Welcome back everyone, the list is very close to being finished. Just this edition and one more to come to reveal the top 10 best SHL in the entire history of the SHL!!
Here's what we've got so far Code: 21. Brodie Witzzel 20. Pavol Skvoznak Pavol Skvoznak is one of the league’s most winningest players, he won the cup 3 times, each on a different team in his career. He won it in the leagues first season with Winnipeg, then with his only season in Edmonton, and finally his most recent in LA The only player to do so, and one of the 3 players to have won 3 cups (the most). Pavol currently has 278 points in his career, playing 404 games (.69). Skvoznak just came off a 41 point effort this season, proving to everyone he can still play at the top of the league. Player Comparison: Teemu Selanne 19. Kain Webb Kain Webb is a former rocket Richard winner, when he led the league in goals with two other players. Webb was a huge part of the Calgary Dragons transformation, they were a team that spent a lot of time outside the playoffs, and if they did make it, no one really had them to go far. Kain Webb was one of the main pieces to change that, and make Calgary one of the top ranked teams this year and for a few years to come. Webb has a total of 163 points in his career, in 201 games which is good for a .81 point per game, certainly an impressive total. Player Comparison: Patrick Kane 18. Jonathan Kane Jonathan Kane is a 2 time winner of the Challenge cup. He won it in the leagues first season with the Winnipeg Jets, and then went on to win it in his last season before retirement, as a backup goalie for the Los Angeles Panthers. Kane was one of the most consistent goaltenders of his time, he played every season except his last with the Winnipeg Jets, and the Jets were almost always a competitive team. Kane never did win any individual awards, but his status in the league as one of the greatest goalies of all time, remains. Player Comparison: Jimmy Howard 17. Sergei Karpotsov Probably the shock of the rankings.. Argued by many as the SHL’s top player in history, and rarely ever falling out of anyone’s top 5, falls all the way down to #17. Sergei Karpotsov was the one of the main reasons for the cups won by the Comets in their dynasty days, once Karpotsov retired, he left the Comets crippled and they still haven’t recovered. Sergei has an outstanding point per game, at .96, scoring 154 points in 160 games. This guy is without a doubt one of the tops in the game, and if he would have played a longer career, he may have been known as the best, he’s also managed to be tied for the most winningest player in history with 3 cups! Player Comparison: Evgeni Malkin 16. Ideen Fallah Ideen Fallah was a true warrior and a pure winner in his SHL career. He was one of the huge parts of the West Kendall Platoon, but surprisingly enough they won the year before they acquired him, and the year after they lost him. Fallah did win with the Los Angeles Panthers however, he was one of their top scorers, like he was for the Platoon, and was a huge factor in the first Challenge cup to be brought to the expansion Los Angeles Panthers. Player Comparison: Marian Gaborik 15. Claudio Krejci Claudio Krejci, since joining the Winnipeg Jets was a huge part of their offense. Krejci was the perfect combination with Ron Mexico and for many seasons they dominated the league together. Now he’s been moved to the West Kendall Platoon, after a below average season, and has been playing a more defensive game. Krejci managed a great career, minus his rookie season and his latest season, time may be catching up with him however and he looks to be slowing down. Player Comparison: Alexander Ovechkin 14. Damian Littleton Damian Littleton, the face of the Winnipeg Jets defense for its entire existence. Much like Jeff Krever, Littleton had all the success he needed early on in his career, now he has just finished his final year in the SHL before retirement and we look back at one of the greatest defenseman in SHL history. He ranks 3rd amongst D-men on this list, his 2 cups and his Norris trophy prove to everyone, he knew how to play at the most elite level. Player Comparison: Zdeno Chara 13. John McBride The third Jet in a row, John McBride has been ranked as the 2nd best Winnipeg Jet in SHL history. McBride has been one of the greatest, if not the greatest, goaltender in the league since his arrival 3 seasons ago. McBride won a Vezina in his rookie year, and then won it again. This year McBride took a step backwards, but so did his whole team after he won the Challenge cup last year, along with the Conn Smyth. McBride was already one of the most decorated goaltenders in the entire league after just 2 seasons. He’s currently 4 in goaltenders on this list, but he is the youngest, and has lots of time to catch up. Player Comparison: Jonathan Quick 12. Michael Abdalla Michael Abdalla was known by many to be the league’s top offensive threat in his short time in the SHL. Abdalla was somewhat inconsistent, but always finished the season with impressive numbers. Abdalla was a controversial player near the end however, rumours of drugs were circling him in his final season. Michael Abdalla was still however one of the best players during his time, winning a rocket Richard trophy and a presidents trophy with the Toronto North Star. Abdalla finished with 163 points in 178 games for a ppg of .92, which is 2nd best on the list thus far, only below Sergei Karpotsov. Player Comparison: Steven Stamkos 11. Sarmad Khan The final man out of the top 10, Sarmad Khan. Many would argue that Sarmad deserves to be in the top 10, but this time he was ranked 1 below. He won 2 cups with his West Kendall Platoon, and he’s also won a a Hart trophy for MVP and the lester B trophy in the same season. Sarmad took a downgrade in his game afterwards, but when he was moved to the Panthers he suddenly re-upped his game. Now he’s part of the Panthers and they’re fighting in the playoffs, Khan is looking for his 3rd cup. Player Comparison: Pavel Datsyuk Congrats to all the players mentioned who made the top 20, its definatly an honor to be on this list and this point! The excitement is rising for the top 10!! Lets see if anyone can guess the order of the top 10!!! Until next time, good night! Code: 1,407 words ![]() Registered S1, S3, S4, S6, S13, S19 and S28 Challenge Cup Champion

Other than that I agree with the positioning ![]() ![]() Registered S22 Challenge Cup Champion
Also Khan out of top 10 was quite surprising, he was tied for 11th with Abdalla, and i decided the tie breaker myself...
Although the top 10 is very good too, and with Karpo rightfully in it, it would be tough for Khan to make it. ![]() Registered Senior Member Quote:Originally posted by JayTee@Jun 12 2012, 10:45 PMkk I totally missed bolts name that he already got picked so IDK who to go with at #10, but I definitely think that karpotsov (who I think is the most talented player in SHL history) and sarmo should have been in top 10 no question ![]() Registered S1, S3, S4, S6, S13, S19 and S28 Challenge Cup Champion Quote:Originally posted by Abdeezy@Jun 12 2012, 10:44 PM I would put myself at 4 (Stevens, Honcho, Jay Mac all ahead of myself) and we will see ![]() ![]() Registered Senior Member ![]() Registered S22 Challenge Cup Champion Quote:Originally posted by JayTee@Jun 13 2012, 01:48 AM Not Mex? Id say he's the only one ahead of u. ![]() Registered Posting Freak ![]() Registered S1, S3, S4, S6, S13, S19 and S28 Challenge Cup Champion Quote:Originally posted by Abdeezy@Jun 12 2012, 10:50 PM for Statistics I would agree, but for the whole package (points and winning), I would give myself the edge as he really only factored in one of his 2 cups. I guess I am just more in the opinion of whoever is good and wins is better than someone who is good. ![]() ![]() Registered S22 Challenge Cup Champion Quote:Originally posted by Munk@Jun 13 2012, 01:51 AM *17 and yea gotta be the 2 worst calls made so far..
