The Montreal Militia is always stocked with talented players, and we want to have a night a season to honour our own.Of course when doing your own award show, do it the week that pre season will begin!

We have some images of the players arriving tonight all dressed up. Let's take a quick look shall we!

Of course Chalie Schieck, what are those shoes tho?

The Militia this past season fought hard to make the post season. After a new GM was appointed , Congrats by the way Barnabas Collins, he quickly appointed Dean Atkins as CO-GM, Congrats to you as well. They were thrust into the draft with little preparation and with the help of previous management did very well at the draft. A draft that Brought us Willie Fisterbottom, Willy Mack and Derek Bohne. Our rookies did very well in their first season, as well as the rest of our roster.

With out Further ado, on to the awards.

Our first Award of the night is the Petr Klimek Award for the Player with the strongest abilities on both ends of the ice.

And the Nominees are:

Willie Fisterbottom had a fantastic rookie season for a defensman on the team. He was second on the team in points for a defensman behind Charlie Schieck. He also led the team in +/- with a +9.

Mason Hudson had a 36 point season tied for 1st with Kevin Kazarian. Second on the team in +/- with a +8 he was solid in both the offensive and defensive side of the ice.

Kevin Kazarian led the team in goals with 19 and tied for 1st in points. His +8 placed him 3rd on the team in +/- making him a great player on both sides of the ice.

Congratulations Mason Hudson.

Our next Award is the The Kain Webb Award - Team Leadership Award. Now we all know every team has a Captain and Alternates. These however demonstrate Leadership above and beyond being Captain. The nominees are:

Willy Mack was a huge leader on the ice and in the locker room. Hey led all rookies on the team in points with 20 in his rookie season. In the locker room he was always talking with players going through rough patches, always being positive and helping the locker room atmosphere.

Derek Bohne it the second rookie to be nominated on this list. On the ice it took some time to get going but when he did it was fun to watch. He finished with 16 points, 4 behind Mack. In the Locker room Bohne was a vocal guy. Like Mack, always ready to help anyone who needed it and always encouraging players who needed it.

Jeff Brogen is the only player on this list to not be overly vocal in the locker room. Brogen led differently. he let his stick do the talking. Tied for first on the team in points with 36, it was the last game of the season that showed his leadership. Knowing Montreal needed a win to guarantee a playoff spot he took it upon himself to get 4 points to beat Kelowna, a team above them in the standings, and clinch a spot.

The winner of the S43 Rain Webb award is….

Next is a special award, not everyone on the team can even quality for nomination. it’s the The Alonzo Garbanzo Award: Rookie Impact Player who played well on the ice and had good Locker Room presence.

These three were an amazing trio to watch all season long.

Willy Mack had a great rookie season. His 20 points led rookies among Militia rookies. 10 goals in your rookie season is always a nice number, and it’s always nice to get to double digits in goals.

Willie Fisterbottom finished with 18 points, Second among defensman in points. Team leader in +/- with a +9. Fisterbottom proved solid at both ends of the ice. A solid top 2 as a defensman this season Fisterbottom deserves to be here.

Derek Bohne’s 16 points placed him about the middle of the team in points. His late season push in points helped the team remain in a playoff spot. Once in the playoffs Bohne continued to produce. Another solid Militia Acquisition.

The winner is…..

Team Captain Pavel Pivonka finished the season with 33 points, although he was a - 4, he was still highly productive, even 1 points on the Power Play.

It says something when two players get deadlocked in the voting process. The team has decided on Co-winners this season. Congrats to both the players.

Closing off the night we have a team voted award. here are the Kurtis Hunter Award: Teams’s Choice MVP nominees.

Kazarian season was a fantastic one for the militia. To lead a team in Goals and Points is an amazing feat. To do that and still maintain a + 6 is also an amazing accomplishment.

Hudson had every ounce of a fantastic season that Kazarian had. tied for team the lead in points and a + 8 to end the season. After a 15 season the previous season, he has shown that he can be an MVP.

Pivonka was voted team Captain at the start of the season because the man can play and lead. He had 16 points in his rookie campaign, he finished with 33 this season. Another play who left a solid mark on this season and showed he too can be a Valuable player.

Schieck, as we have stated before, is the best Defensman on this team, for now.  solid on the Power play and in the offensive zone, Schieck can produce points without issue. His control of the play has made him a valuable part of this team.

And the winner is:
