S46 SMJHL Top Prospect – Wibbly McButternutz

At 33, he’s not your prototypical prospect but that hasn’t quelled any hype.  This man-child is the real deal.  He’s fresh off a Beer League Division 1 season in which he Captained his team, the Braindead Bandits, to the league and playoff titles.  He led the team in hits, PIMs, and +/- and was an intimidating presence that opposing teams feared.  

His off-ice personality is enigmatic, brash and at times, downright rude; yet teammates never fail to mention that he sets the tone in the locker room and is well respected and always looking for the next good laugh.

I sat down with Wibbly and asked a wide range of questions, including his thoughts about the upcoming S46 SMJHL draft; “I’m going first overall, no question” Wibbly quipped.  “This draft class is good, but I’m gooder.”

His confidence, unlike his grammar, is unquestioned.  When asked what sets him apart from the rest of the prospects Wibbly quickly shot back “Fuck you, do you even know who I am?”  And that was that.

McButternutz grew up in a gated community and his parents were both Erotic Novelists. This may explain Wibbly’s questionable history of sexual deviance.  His historical run with the Braindead Bandits has put a spotlight on McButternutz and it’s not without its consequences.  When asked about the thousands upon thousands of angry, sexually driven tweets and hundreds of recently recovered snapchat dick pics, Wibbly simply says “you gotta get your **** wet every once and awhile.  No regrats.”  Truer words have never been spoken.  And the legend grows.

He has yet to comment about the much less publicized “incident” and when I pushed him on it, he slapped me.  Full disclosure, his representative took me aside after the interview and kindly suggested I don’t publish anything related to the “incident.”

One thing is for sure, whichever team picks Wibbly, the organization and their fans are going to have something special.  On and off the ice, this man makes headlines.

Please note, nearly 50 percent of my interview with Wibbly has been deemed unpublishable.  Some of the vulgarities that came out of McButternutz mouth left me speechless.  I’ve woken up in cold sweats in recent nights because I can’t get the images of the things he described out of my head.  That said, it was truly a pleasure to meet this living legend.  He will be a fan favorite wherever he goes, and he knows it.
