The jersey lighting looks great, but i might suggest considering how the players face/flesh is affected by the changes. An easy step to improve would be to focus on masking your player render, as the patchy background takes away form the composition (near the heel of the stick, top of the helmet, and lower shoulder). increasing the text legibility will also help.

The text is more legible. Although less was done with it, it better matches the rest of the composition in hue and theme. minor tweaks to the background parts of the primary photograph could help give this signature some depth. Also, keep in mind how you shadows and highlights will appear when tweaking colors.
