He might be in regression going into FA and not the most attractive catch available this offseason, but Terrance Nova is one of the league’s top two-way forwards and a player coming off a 49 point campaign who will should not have a problem drawing interest from a number of suitors once he hits the market as an unrestricted free agent.
Some might think not much will change right now, but things can get crazy in free agency, so I decided to write on what returning to Minnesota could look like and four other potential landing spots for Nova this offseason. WINNIPEG JETS There's not much familiarity between the Jets and the former MVP other than being on a line with another former MVP in Jason Visser, his team USA linemate, he would have instant chemistry. It's a toss up but Nova has shown interest previously with the Jets and once contracts start shooting around, players listen. CALGARY DRAGONS It would be pretty random but the top heavy team, especially how well their players do individually and team wise both alike - the Dragons are probably one of the more interesting fits, systematically and play style, for the veteran star forward. WEST KENDALL PLATOON He definitely wont be a Bennett type addition or the best player on the team, but considering how star-studded this team already is and where they sat around during the deadline when it came to perfomance, picking up Nova, who wants to be part of a winning culture at this stage of his career, should be enough to atleast make another finals appearance.. which would definitely set the team apart and ahead of all of its competition, and that is saying something considering where this team has been on the power rankings for a long minute. TEXAS RENEGADES Its an exciting time to be a Renegades fan. They have definitely transformed this season from okay to great. With a core that consists of O'Callaghan, Garrett, Karlsson, Dude and some high caliber role players, Nova could successfully fit into a team really close to his hometown and he is all about repping where he's from. MINNESOTA CHIEFS All issues aside, it won't be reasonable for the Chiefs to not do all they can to re-sign Nova this offseason. Even if it means offering him more money with limited cap space. That fact that he's been there so long, he might not mind a minimum contract, which would definitely hurt less. Resigning Watson, Primeau and Gibbles definitely helps and a full offseason of progression along side the fresh young core, Minnesota may revert back to the same competitive drive they had before this messy season. However, only if they keep their defense intact and fully knowing what they want... heading into next season.
