Ready for the Draft

It's almost SHL Draft Day. First since S20, so almost 30 seasons later than my last player. So let's take a look back at Pedro and what I expect from Padraig in the future. Because while they are different players in different positions, the end goal is always the same. The Cup and the HOF. I never expected to make another player because well 20 season wore me the fuck out. Some of the dumb shit that goes on mixed with other priorities and older generation players moving out and young idealistic kids coming in and changing too much. Well that didn't last that long apparently.
When the S20 draft came around, Pedro was a sexy pick in the draft because he could pick up goals and points, while somehow not picking up enough accolades during his time in the SHL, but he was the player teams look for to be on the first line and push a team to the playoffs. Well, Padraig is not the sexy pick in this draft, he is the physical dominating player who makes sure the sexy player is not sexy when he is on the ice because he bloodies him and bruises him until he gets off and tries to find a time when he is not on the ice. Pedro in the SMJHL In 40 games with Montreal, Pedro put up only 17 points while playing on the 2nd line, getting a lot power play and penalty kill time picking up 8 special teams points, taking 63 shots, hitting more than he got hit, losing at the face off dot, getting 2 penalty shot goals, and playing a total of 794 minutes per game. In his first season in the SHL Pedro was drafted 12th overall by the Minnesota Chiefs, who at the time where struggling to find players and Buster, refused to sign with them (his 1st of 2 times spurning the Sarantez family haha). After being drafted Pedro joined the SHL instead of going back to the SMJHL. This was a tough choice, but led to some interesting times as one of the GMs disappeared and Pedro became an integral part of the Chiefs moving forward in the FO and on the ice. His first season was his worst by far with only 16 points, 10 being goals and showing he will be a sniper in the future, and a -28 with ample playing time to prove he could have done more. Padraig in the SMJHL In 40 games with Montreal, Padraig as a defensive defenseman managed to pick up 11 points, only 6 less than Pedro, with two being goals on 8 shots, Additionally, he was a +10 player while playing on Montreal's 2nd paring and physically dominating the other team by landing 63 hits and denying scoring opportunities by blocking 30 shots. Padraig played only 10 minutes on the power play, but found a lot of time on the penalty kill where he helped solidify the Montreal defense and negate the other teams' power plays. Expectations Going 12th overall or higher. Can't let Pedro be my highest drafted player ya know haha. If not drafted in the first round, watch out as he may not sign or prefer a trade to a team that may have wanted him in the first, but didn't have a pick. Who knows what could happen ![]() If needed, spend one more season in the SMJHL, but don't want to do more than that unless there are extenuation circumstances and I make the decision to go back for one more season. If it is not my decision, I will ask for a trade to a team that wants me to play as I expect to contribute that season if not sooner. Additionally, if in the SHL next season, I would expect 3rd line paring and maybe PK later in the season. I would expect to have a similar output as I did in the SHL, with maybe a few less minutes haha. So get ready SHL, I am coming back and gonna stop, drop, shut 'em down, and open up shop on a blue line near you. ![]() (Thanks to Tweedle, Dion.OvOxO., & Kylrad)
