Well I’m late because im busier in life and stuff, but here are the top TPE earning Centers and Defensemen quick profile with some inaccurate predictions as well.

Centers

1. Mika Kandinsky -  Scarecrows  - 277 TPE

First among S48 centers is the big russian center; Mika Kandinsky. Taken 10th overall in the SMJHL draft Kandinsky played for a stacked St. Louis team who were looking to get another cup. Kandinsky played 4th line center for the Scarecrows and only averaged 7.5 minutes a game. Incredibly Kandinsky led the Scarecrow rookies in points grabbing 11 points and 3 goals while going +3 as well good for a 0.58 P/20.. Kandinsky also went positive in the face off with a 50.21 winning percentage. Kandinsky did not get increased responsibility in the playoffs but managed 4 points in the 13 postseason games the Scarecrows played with a 0.78 P/20. 3 of those points were goals. With a high P/20 for a rookie, I’m sure next season Kandinsky will play a central role and we can see what he can truly do.

Kandinsky is a 6 foot 1, 220 lbs, right handed two-way center with strengths in; Scoring, Defense, and Skating. Kandinsky like many others is weak at checking. @Mika_Kandinsky is a new user from our last seasons reddit drive. But he has already banged out a bunch of written media and has been active on the site most days. With centers being bare this draft Kandinsky could be a hot commodity and move up the board past older users.

2. Timmo Kyllonen - raiders - 254 TPE

Next up in the center group is another Finnish Kyllonen; Timmo Kyllonen. I am unsure if he is related to the Falcons star Raino Kyllonen. Timmo Kyllonen like Kandinsky also played 4th line center averaging only 7.75 minutes a game and no special teams time. However, unlike other top rookies Timmo was not in the SMJHL till 14 games in, and was signed by the Raiders out of free agency. In the 36 games Timmo played he grabbed 6 points and 2 goals, with 1 of those being a game tying goal. In the end Timmo garnered a 0.43 P/20. Timmo did not have as much success in the faceoff circle as Kandinsky with only a 48.31 faceoff percentage. The Raiders had a short postseason of only 4 games in which Timmo grabbed a point. Unlike the regular season though, Timmo played 18 minutes a game playing on the 3rd line and getting some power play time. All in all not bad for a player that went undrafted in the juniors.

Timmo is a 6 foot 1, 185 lbs, right handed two-way center with strengths in; Passing, Defense, and puck handling. Timmo’s weakness is… you guessed it: checking. @Lemonade is a new user from late April and arrived late in the season. With some great first articles and graphics in the bag, Lemonade has gotten to a great start despite starting late in the season. I am not sure where Kyllonen will go. With only 8 centers things could get interesting.

3. Gordon Bombay - Lions - 249 TPE

Last among the centers this draft is the 5th overall pick from the SMJLH draft; the United States born, Gordon Bombay. Unlike Kandinsky and Timmo, Bombay played 3rd line center for the Lions averaging just about 16.5 minutes a game with decent power play time. Bombay nabbed 14 points and 5 goals and 1 game winner. 5 of those points were on the power play Bombay is a physical player dishing out 46 hits while taking 75 hits. Among the top 3 centers in the draft, Bombay had the best faceoff percentage with a 52.60% in 960 attempts. Not bad. Bombay was also disciplined taking only 13 penalty minutes. Like Timmo, Bombay had a short postseason. In the 4 games the Lions played Bombay grabbed a power play assist and stayed even +/- wise, while playing the same amount of minutes as the regular season.

Bombay is a 6 foot 2, 198 lbs, left handed playmaker with strengths in; Passing, Face Offs, and Puck Handling. Like Bombay’s fellow centers he is weak in checking. @RunnerBert11 was quite active earlier in the season and has been online recently, but hasn’t posted on the site since May 7th.  Despite this RunnerBert11 still has money in the bank. Employment or school might have affected activity, hopefully he comes back. This likely drops Bombay’s stock.

Defense:

1. Oliver Cleary - Falcons - 301 TPE

First among the defesemen in TPE, and the leader in TPE among the S48 draft class is; Oliver Cleary. This good ol Ontario boy played on the 3rd pairing of the Detroit Falcons on the left side. Cleary played around 19 minutes a game with power play and penalty kill time. Cleary grabbed 6 points and 1 goal and stayed even. Despite being more of an offensive player Cleary dished out 81 hit, which was 6th among the Falcons roster. On top of that Cleary blocked 51 shots throughout the season. During the Falcons playoffs Cleary came alive getting 5 points and 2 goals in 10 games. Cleary led the Falcons in +/- in the playoffs while playing a little more than 18 minutes a game. Cleary still held up defensively blocking 4 shots and making 14 hits.

Cleary is a 6 foot 3, 215 lbs, right handed offensive defenseman with strengths in; Passing, Defense, and Skating. In contrast to the norm Cleary choose strength as his weakness. @Buster is another returning user whos been on break for around a year with a player back from S9! Buster should have no issues developing with lots of money, and a potential 1st overall.

2. Kaspars Claude - Whalers - 293 TPE

Right behind Cleary is the 3rd overall pick from the SMJHL, the Latvian born Kaspars Claude. Claude played 2nd pairing on the left side for the Whalers with about 15.6 minutes a game and a bit of penalty kill time. Claude had an outstanding season with 17 points all of which were assists. This places Claude 7th in rookie scoring and grabbing a great 0.43 P/20. Claude played all aspects of the game going +9 and dishing out 50 hits while blocking 43 shots. During the Whalers playoff run Claude grabbed another 2 assists. Claude’s minutes went up with almost 17 minutes a game during which he blocked 11 shots which tied him for the team lead.

Claude is a 6 foot 3, 225 lbs, right handed two way defenseman with strengths in; Passing, Defense, and scoring. Claude’s weakness is checking. @Bruins10 is a long time active user who has created this new account after losing an older one. Another experienced user behind a star defenseman. 1st overall might be between Claude and Cleary.

3. Lyle Odelein III - Scarecrows - 276 TPE

Rounding out the top 3 defensemen is the Canadian born Lyle Odelein the 3rd. Odelein III played 4th pairing defense (what) for the Scarecrows averaging only 6 minutes a game. He gave no fucks grabbing 7 points and 2 game winning goals while going +13! That +13 led all rookies on the Scarecrows. Odelein III also blocked 22 shots. These are pretty good numbers for 6 minutes a game. In the end Odelein III 0.45 P/20 which puts him in line with both Claude and Cleary. During the Scarecrow playoff Odelein II minutes went up to 8.5 minutes a game jumping up to 2nd pairing defense and no special teams. Odelein III manage 2 points in 13 games staying positive and blocking 7 shots

Odelein III is a 6 foot 2, 210 lbs, right handed two way defensemen with strengths in; Scoring, Defense and Strength. Again like others Odelein III’s weakness is checking. @Huck24 is a new user from April but has kept up with written media and consistent activity Odelein III could be taken first round from a team needing defense.

Well thanks for reading despite it being late.
