SHL LEGACY TOURNAMENT- S33-29 ROCKETS ROSTER ANNOUNCEMENT
#1
(This post was last modified: 08-10-2019, 01:06 PM by SlashACM.)

NOTE: Team name has been changed to avoid confusion.

The oldest class in the tourney, this roster is jam packed with legends of the game who have the experience and poise to win in big games. Lots of star power fills this team and the players who made it this long in the show have made it for a reason. They are sure to be threats in this tournament.

Chris York  Stars @Symmetrik

A S33 draftee, he is still killing it on the North Stars with 39 pts in S48. A serviceable RWer for this Jets squad, he will be looked upon to score points in big moments. Don't let us down.

Trevor Wilson  Barracuda @twils

All the way back from S31, Wilson has been an instrumental part of a West Kendall Dynasty. With 33 pts, he is still a scoring threat at an advanced age and will look to prove the young blood has not yet taken over the SHL.

Conklin Owen  Renegades @Phobospwns

One of the oldest members on this team, from S30!! They had a rough past season, riding the bench and playing 11 games and scoring 2 pts. They hope to prove they still have gas in the tank as a member of the Legacy Jets.

Luke Atmey  syndicate @Velevra

Unfortunately deciding to hang up the skates after this S49 season, Atmey has been a cornerstone of the Syndicate franchise since it's inception. A fantastic 41 pts in S48, this may prove to be Luke's last hoorah with his fellow draft class of S33.

Vasily Horvat  Specters @Slowpoke

Another player who decided to retire recently, Horvat saw no action in S48 but had a great career that ended with the Specters. With a younger Horvat looking to make their stamp on the SHL, Vasily will look to put him in his place and prove the S31 class as superior.

Joe Kurczewski  Specters @JKortesi81

Kurczewski has been an integral part of multiple cup teams, and has won in all stages of hockey play. Leading the Specters with 51 pts in S48, he still has a ton of gas in the tank and is hungry for more cup rings to fill out his cabinet. This S31 legend has already solidified himself as a hall of famer, but will play alongside his draftmates to secure his superiority over the entire SHL.

Cory Knouse  Blizzard @ckroyal92

Captain of a storied Blizzard team, he won it all in S45, but looks to lead his team back to victory as they retool and continue to make runs at the cup. A respectable 25 pts last season, he is showing wear and tear as all S32 draftees have but continues to be a leader on the ice and off for the terrific Blizzard squad.

Cory Bearss  Jets @CBear

Ultimately losing out on the cup this past season, Bearss looks to show the league why they were able to stick around so long in a competitive and cut-throat environment. Scoring only 2 points, Cory has mostly been reduced to a locker room presence, but hopefully a good showing on the Legacy Jets can turn some heads.

Alex Light  Platoon @Zoone16

Another of the S31 legends, Light has been on a platoon squad that has seen nothing but success in the S40's, and has been a big reason for this success. Scoring 37 pts last season, Light is still a premier forward in the SHL and a threat to be reckoned with. He adds another layer of starpower to this Legacy Jets team.

Derrick Glover  Blizzard @DonutDefender

Hailing from a distant time, S32, Glover may be the grocery stick on this team, scoring 0 pts and averaging 30 seconds per game in S48. He will get his shot to show he still has some talent in this tournament, playing with some big names and definitely getting more than 30 seconds of ice time. Don't let us down, Derrick.

Ludwig Koch Schroder  Platoon @Rabidsponge21

Yet another S31 legend, also on WKP, that knows how to win. Winning a cup last in S47, Schroder feels it's been too long and is hungry for another chance to dominate his SHL peers and show why he is a prodigy of the game and one of the SHL's top defenders. With 26 pts, he will be looked to by this Legacy Jets squad for a scoring touch on the back end.

Adam Kaiser  Stars @Ghost

Recently being moved to the North Stars, Kaiser scored 20 points and while he showed signs of aging, he still rounded out the top 6 of Toronto and helped cover for some of McFadden's inconsistencies. He will be propped up by his linemates in this tournament and have a chance to return to former glory along with his draftmates.

Max Weber  Jets @MWHazard

Another member of the runner-up Jets, Weber still has a lot to prove in the SHL, scoring a respectable 18 pts and showing defensive soundness, with a +15 rating. He will look to shut down his opponents and protect the goalie from shots as the youthful S40 draft classes try to use their speed to blow past the Legacy Jets defense. We will see how this turns out.

Charles Walker  Stampede @Zombiewolf

Recent cup champion, his second ring, Walker is a stalwart of the Stampede defense and has been for seasons upon seasons. A fantastic 24 pt showing in S48, he is arguably the best member remaining of the S33 class and one of the most youthful members of this team. Let's see if he can lead them to victory by adding more cup-winning experience to a roster overflowing with it.

Zander Rhys  Stars @ThePandava

Another S33 defender, Rhys scored an incredible 42 pts last season and will look to chip in offensively on an already offensively gifted team. Rhys and Weber would be an incredibly scary pairing to play against.

Richard C. Hocolate  Dragons @Your Mothers Favorite Goalie

The oldest and most experienced member of this squad, Hocolate was a member of the S29 draft class. He is still rocking it as the backup on Calgary, but will get a chance to be the starter once again as the lone goalie of the S33-29 range of draftees. With an aging but very serviceable defense in front of him, we will see if he can handle the pressure of facing the top players around the league.

Alternate Captain 2- Alexis Metzler  Stampede @Avakael

Oozing with leadership qualities, Metzler just led their team to another cup, the second in 3 seasons. Metzler can still get it done offensively, with 31 pts in S48. While there aren't any young guys on this squad, many of his teammates will look to Alexis for leadership as they attempt to dominate the other Legacy teams.

Alternate Captain 1- Terrance Nova  Blizzard @sarmo

Part of a once legendary Chiefs top line, Nova has since been moved to the Blizzard as they stock up for another big cup run. Leading the Chiefs in scoring last season, Nova is an invaluable offensive piece on this team and will show the league why is the top active S32 player.

Captain- Jason Visser  Jets @ToeDragon84

Arguably one of the most dominant players the SHL has seen in a long time, Visser still finds a way to score despite being from the S31 class. Scoring an insane 60 pts last season, leading the Jets, this is his team to run and they look to prove the Jets are the best, both in the SHL and the Legacy Tournament.

Thank you all for your support of this project and I will continue to announce rosters throughout the week. Show your support for your class in the comments and tell me how you think this team will do! Stay tuned for more news regarding the SHL LEGACY TOURNAMENT

Confused myself at first, but now I get it.

Couldn’t figure out how the rosters were being constructed at first, but now I see

Looking forward to the rest of the rosters

Obviously most of these guys aren’t Jets. I’m confused, which is not surprising really since I’m not all that bright.

How are the teams being constructed ?

I think the team is taken from the leading TPE player of that class.

That’s what threw me off at first as well.

He just arbitrarily assigned certain draft years to certain teams. There doesn’t have to be a connection between the player and team assigned.

For all confused, SHL teams are assigned based on the tpe leader of this group of draft classes.

Visser has highest tpe -> Jets
