Congrats to all.

I am confused how Hippo Passamus is 2nd team and Izzy is 3rd when the only thing Hippo did better was get more hits, which ultimately aren't the greatest value.

An old man's dream ended. A young man's vision of the future opened wide. Young men have visions, old men have dreams. But the place for old men to dream is beside the fire.

The way All-star voting works rn leads to some slight things i disagree with in the teams. But it is what it is. The 3rd all star team at this stage is basically luck, and only the 1st team is truly accurate normally.

Izzy leads the league in goals, finishes top ten in points, and is 3rd team? Seems flawed

Mcz somehow beats McCarthy for first team despite scoring less points and playing more minutes. Toggle Bitties is on the team even though he was outplayed by both Rhys and Tuck. Lokitonov took 1800 draws and is listed as a winger.

Why do we pay the all star committee again?

I go based off of the positional listing that they have and the nominations that come in. Lokitonov is listed as a right winger in the index.

The rest of it mainly has to do with others opinions as while I do vote, I am not the only person who decides on these matters

The committee is there to account for differing opinions. The first thing you see is points and assume that's what we're all looking at. I don't know what everyone else voted based on, but if you look at the difference in minutes it's minuscule, but McZ also had about 70 more hits than McCarthy and 8 more goals. I suppose based on that some committee members could make the argument that McZ creates more offense and has a bigger impact on defense.

Truth be told I don't remember how I voted.

Shouldn’t you guys go off the same standard that is used for milestones and the like? Because consistency seems like it should be an easy thing on this kind of voting. Not saying we’ll all agree always (as evidenced by the comments), but basic things like that should be done, in my opinion

Seems like it would be a pretty good idea to shift to that.

I think it's a worthwhile thing to look into for next year, especially if I can find a way to make it easier or the nominators as the major difference between the 2 is that one is self-reported.

Thanks for thew suggestion though. It's something that I hadn't really considered but makes a lot of sense

Finally I have the opportunity to post "snubbed"! Waited a long time for this.

Funny to see though that the All-Star Committee still seems to have the same unconditional love for Hits that the Awards Committee dropped like a decade ago.

Underrating/overrating hits seems to be like the greatest SHL pastime.
