Hello good people of the SHL. It has been a while since my last article. Almost an entire career in fact as I’ve hit regression and can almost see when I’ll hang up my skates and retire. Last time I wrote something I was on the verge to swap out SMJHL and Colorado Raptors with SHL and Calgary Dragons.

After some seasons with regular playoff berths the Calgary Dragons have now played four seasons in a row as bottom dwellers. Making progress in the game as drafters and not contenders. Hopefully it will turn around soon. Tom Pedersen really wants to be in Calgary his entire career as he now calls it his home. Something his home discount contract is a statement of. And soon after next season there will be time to negotiate for a new contract. I will have to do my very best to keep my spot on the roster for the future. However I do already know that I’ll keep playing for several more seasons. If for some reason Calgary Dragons would drop me, I’ll find a new team and play until the times comes when I am unplayable and disappear like a prick in the sky as famous Norwegian driver, Petter Solberg, once said in an interview. A prikk in Norwegian is a dot in English.

Since the draft has been passed and we are getting ready for the IIHF tournament Tom Pedersen is getting more and more excited. Even if SHL has gone shite the last seasons the IIHFs have gone good. THe Last seasons, Tom Pedersen’s Norway, have finished second twice and third once. Tom also did win a gold back in season 67 before he took the big jump up in the SHL. And Tom Pedersen firmly believes that Norway will do really well this season too. It is an exciting team Norway is building up. Some players have left, but the talent coming up looks really interesting. Both of the Solberg sisters will shine in this tournament sooner rather than later. Even though it might be too soon with this upcoming tournament. Tom Pedersen firmly believes that these two players will be the cornerstones of the future Norwegian national team. They only miss a right wing to play with them and they are going to torment other teams for many seasons. Perhaps Inge Baardsen who also seems very talented can play with them? Or perhaps the more experienced Gnabe Dabson can rock the right wing spot on this line? Fredrik Gronlund and Sebastian Levesque also seem mighty impressive. Another golden generation on the steps. Others have stepped up bigtime and will be asked to do a heavier load of work going forward. Adam Prpich is now the best player in Norway and will probably be the first line center now. Grogu Mandosson is still awesome, but will have to take a step down the lines and continue to do some heavy work.Filip Lund and Aksel Fiske will also be important pieces this tournament. And even Salzberger Lillehammersson. One of the biggest questions is Gonzo Gobbledygook, who was to my surprise named as left defender last tournament, but continued to play as first line left winger. Will that happen this season as well? Or will he continue to play as Grogu Mandosson’s linemate? The other question is goalie. Ally Mathieson, Hank Stopper and Sjøforsvaret will battle out who to play between the posts. Ally Mathieson is the up and coming while Hank Stopper is going to have to play second fiddle sooner rather than later. Pawter Meowski, Iliket Urtles Eel and Kenny Omega will also be very important for this team. Another question is if Andreas Kvalheim will return for another season. After his start way back in season 44 there are now questions whether he can be an effective player or not.

Other than that Tom Pedersen is looking forward to the next SHL season as well. Hoping to bounce back from a poor season and contribute more towards another playoff berth for the Calgary Dragons. But first.. KOM IGJEN, NORGE!!

Tom Pedersen’s career is getting closer to an end, but not yet. So far in his career he has managed the following statistics:

He really hopes to fix up that negative +/- statistic, And to get that done the Calgary Dragons need to start winning again. Hopefully it will start next season and hopefully Tom Pedersen gets a new multiseason contract with Calgary Dragons soon
Go Dragons!!
