The New England Wolfpack were the winners of season seventy-seven challenge cup! It was a super tough and close series. The Wolfpack won simply because they scored more goals than the opponents. But in all seriousness, the Wolfpack just wanted it more. The Texas Renegades had a three to one series lead over the Wolfpack after game four of the series. It’s not often a team will come back to force a game seven when down three to one let alone pull off the comeback. It’s almost as monumental as a reverse sweep. The only thing the Texas Renegades could have done differently was want the cup more than the Wolfpack, but alas, the Wolfpack wanted it more and they earned their spot in history becoming the season seventy-seven challenge cup champions.

9. Obviously, I will say that my team, Calgary, is the next one in line but that has probably to do with my thoughts that most champions are usually the same with rare sights here and there. By the time we get there, we will probably be in the sort of shape that a championship contender team would be in. Now that is not to say I do not believe others will be just as good, it just happens to be that I think that, should we keep our pieces and keep improving, we will eventually get there and prove our potential to be true. Hopefully.

Besides, time to be honest. A championship win would be very good to distance the Dragons' image even further from what it was long ago. I would not call it some sort of ghost that keeps haunting us or anything but it has to be understood that the team really needs to plant everything it can to get away from the ghost of the prima donna. It was an objective the team had in the past and while I think we are long away from those days, it would be good to coronate it with a championship.

13. No idea. I mean, think about it. The Netherlands would probably have Belgium as a rival, France or Germany... if they had a team. But they do not. Naturally, I did join Czechia, who would probably have a rivalry with Slovakia, I suppose. But they also do not have a team either.

The idea of a national team rivalry is nice, I suppose, but I dunno who the Czechs have as a rival that would work with the IIHF in mind. Maybe Russia?

...Wait, is Russia still a thing? I really should go check that out later, eh. Hold on.

Write your predictions for this year's IIHF tournament or WJC! Tell me about your team! What are your expectations for your player? What teams are you watching out for this time around? Did last season's results surprise you and how much do you expect them to change this time?

According to the popular vote, it seems Canada is the crowd favorite to win the IIHF tournament with Finland nipping close at their heels. My team, France, seems to be projected to land right around fourth place.. although I think some folks might be sleeping on us a bit. The team has recently brought on a stellar group of actives who are sure to bring the team to a higher standard of play... and have fun doing it. Mia probably isn't going to do anything too exciting out on the ice as she and Edouard are only just making their debut with the team, but things will only get better with time as they build chemistry with the rest of the team.

Looks like [TEAM] won Season 77! Who won and why? What could the other team have done differently to change the result? What was your favorite part of the series?

It looks like New England Wolfpack took the Challenge Cup this year in the SHL, while the Vancouver Whalers took the title in the SMJHL. After taking a quick breeze through the index it appears both teams were kind of the underdogs in their matchups, at least so far as total team points were concerned. Wolfpack finished the regular season a full 10 points behind the Renegades, but had some pretty stellar goal scorers that (I assume but didn't actually watch so I'm not sure) helped propel them to victory. The Whalers finished about 7 points behind Ottawa in the regular season, but also had some solid points earners that also probably helped them get to the final (but again, I'm making assumptions here because I didn't watch lol). Although looking at the playoff bracket maybe Vancouver wasn't the underdog after all considering they swept 2 out of the 4 series they played before winning it all. Nice job Whalers?! Anyways, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little satisfied Ottawa lost in the final for the Js, if only because they played spoilers in round 3 and kept us from making it there ourselves. It would have been fun to see the Lavoie-JJ line hit finals during their last season with Maine in a beautiful blaze of glory, but c'est la vie.

2: Why would the Texas Renegades not worry about someone, who seems to continue scoring like it is nothing despite the age, maybe even becoming better with age. Of course they should not worry too much about Lacksamus as the New England Wolfpack has a lot more players capable of scoring goals like it means nothing. (55 words) 1 TPE

9: A long list of great teams, the first names quickly jumping out are the Calgary Dragons and the Toronto North Stars who feel like they both have had some quite good drafts in recent times. But also the Baltimore Platoon jumps out as the one team I often hear being discussed when talking about strong teams from the SHL, and I am quite surprised to see them in this list myself. The other teams contain the Montreal Patriotes and the Tampa Bay Barracuda who have both in recent times done some pretty big rebuilds, having a ton of assets/SJHML players which they will surely hope will help them compete and even win for the next title, then lastly we have the Manhattan Rage and the Minnesota Monarchs. To be quite honest I do not really know anything about either of these 2 teams, but I do kinda like that the Monarchs changed their logo to a butterfly recently, as I always thought they were refering to monarchy, and not a butterfly. (171 words) 3 TPE

11: After being the top defender in terms of scoring goals, and doing quite well in fantasy points last season I was hoping for my player to continue that form, but in the end he kind of returned to old form, not being a disaster, but also not being great. One thing to note for this season though is that he had one of the highest penalty in minutes, which I am not sure if that is something to celebrate or not, but I guess we will see next season if Chicken can continue the penalty form, revert back to the goalscoring defender, or maybe even goes all the way back to the lucky charm time as he was in the Yukon Malamutes. 11. MattyJ’s first season with the Whalers was an amazing one. Ending the season as champions was all we could’ve hoped for. As far as personal play on the ice, MattyJ was solid. The regular season had its ups and downs but overall was disappointing. Not only for MattyJ, who did not put up great point numbers or score many goals, but also for the Whalers who ended in the middle of the pack. However, both MattyJ and the Whalers turned it on in the middle of the playoffs. MattyJ was scoring at will, with NoNo Jo, and never getting any assists. The Whalers couldn’t seem to lose a game and MattyJ couldn’t seem to stop scoring. This postseason was the top moment of MattyJ’s young career. Next season he hopes to take a huge step forward. This will be his last season in the J and hopefully it will be a great one. Not only does he hope to repeat, he wants to score and assist in the regular season. As MattyJ looks to ascend into the ranks of the SHL, this season will be a test as to if he is ready for the big leagues. We can only wait and see.

12. So far in his career, MattyJ has not found success in the WJC. Whether it is not winning it all, or simply not showing up on the stat sheet, it has been far from enjoyable for him. The USA teams are commonly favorites to win, but this has never amounted to anything. This is the year that it changes. Team USA Blue will win it all. Not only will they win it all, they will walk through the competition. Others may try to win, but they will fail miserably. MattyJ hopes to be the leader that his team needs. While coming of a dominant cup run, he knows what it takes to succeed. He also hopes to take the confidence he had in the playoffs to the WJC. Personally, I really have not paid much attention to the WJC. This year I hope to be more active in the discord and get to know some people I haven’t met in the league yet. I am looking forward to it. Don’t mistake this kindness for weakness. Team USA is coming for you, and it’s already over. Hand us the rings already. For this one, we don’t have to wait and see, it’s already finished.

Nathan Cormier is going to be the player that makes a larger impact on the series. Cormier is going to be feeding one of the most dangerous post season scorers in SHL history, Ivan Lacksamus. Lacksamus is the kind of scorer that could make any bum taken off the street look good. Now you have an elite set up man in Cormier sharing the ice with him. Lasse Zeigler is clearly a great player as well, but the Texas Renegades do not have any players that have the same historical scoring pedigree as Ivan Lacksamus and the New England Wolfpack.

The Renegades absolutely need to worry about Ivan Lacksamus. A team can not just ignore a player of that quality just because of their age. For players like Lacksamus, age does not matter, and that is especially true in the playoffs. Every second has the potential to completely change the series and someone like Lacksamus understands that better than anyone.

I am sure that the fact that I grew up as a defender will color my answer here, but everyone should be blocking more shots. I do not care who you are. You give up the body to stop any scoring chance whatsoever. Those blocked shots are going to help your goalie save their energy and be able to pull out on the stops on the eventual breakaway that is sure to happen. Sure, blocking shots is scary and has drawbacks. Yes, it will hurt. Yes, it might land you on the injured reserve list. Those things are all temporary. The glory of winning the cup last forever. A few bruises is a cheap price to pay for eternal glory.

After long last Minnesota managed to make their way to second round, but were not able to push further just yet. Since switching to FHM we have had multiple teams that have won the cup but there are still quite few teams that haven't been able to make it all the way. Baltimore, Calgary, Manhattan, Minnesota, Montreal, Tampa Bay and Toronto have not won the Challenge Cup during the FHM era, some have been close, but which one you think will be the next one to win and why do you pick them over the others?

Whilst I could sit here and toot my horn over the progress we’ve made in Toronto and I do often do I swear I’m almost as bad as Toronto media in real life. However, the team that kind of impressed me the most along this past season was the Tampa Bay barracuda They’ve also been on a long growth cycle rather recently and they looked pretty strong throat. Part of the season is important to be able to get all the way up there, but it takes time you have to deal with of players were in it for the long-haul as you go from being in contention for that lottery, pick slowly grinding up to getting close but missing the playoffs to getting in the playoffs and being fodder around one being challenging around one and then in the case of Minnesota recently and , unfortunately for Toronto as well being tough and may be definitely Minnesota getting out of the first round at all, which is a massive feet considering considering who they are I think there is gonna be a changing because over the course for time and FHM. We’ve seen pretty consistent rise and falls of teams with more natural real life life cycle teams rise up get good. Start to tape her off. Maybe they linger maybe they come back but usually usually they’re done and then they rebuilt and then they come back again.

One season behind all of us. How did your player perform compared to your expectations? What do you expect from next season? Are you being hit by regression so hard that anything close to this season's performance would be a win in your books? Or maybe you are reaching your peak, in either of the leagues and hope to compete for some awards?

For my player Brooklyn Physt this was my sophomore season and it definitely felt like kind of a slump granted Toronto North stars got off to a very slow start thinking at one point where something disgusting like 615 and two or something but we finished the back half the season real strong caught back up enough to you know have a good time in the playoffs we would future challenge champions in the first round, but even then that series was a good push season to be a lot closer to what we look like on paper and how we were in the back half of this last season as opposed to the way things went and certainly are going to be making a push to win a series or two once the playoffs roll around Paid side of things. I was a rookie of the year candidate season and then this last season I don’t think I was anywhere close for to things to be supportive although she like many of the other players on the team are still growing we don’t have a huge amount of regressing players yet so this team is only getting better and scarier to see on the ice.

12. Old Reliable IIHF Analysis 3 TPE (154 words)

The one task I always do badly is the IIHF prediction. It seems like such a crapshoot to get the right order from 1 to 8. My team is France and my player will be the backup goalie, so he shouldn't hurt the team too much. The team is still looking for their first gold medal and I don't think it will happen in this tourney. The recruitment the last few seasons has been amazing and there are a lot of great prospects that will be able to help soon but right now the team lacks top talent and depth to rivals powerhouse like Canada or Sweden. But still I expect a top 4 finish in our division just like last season and who knows happen once we're qualified. It might be the year Switzerland grab gold after back to back silver medals. I expect Canada and Sweden to be in the picture again.

I respect Luke a lot for what he has done since taking the job in New England but I was really hoping Texas would win that matchup. What an absolute crushing way to lose a final, choking a 3-1 lead. Olof Karsikko prove once again he's the best goalie in the league once playoffs start. The man will be at -999 TPE and he will steal series, it's absolutely unbelievable. I feel for Anthony Dionne who is at the top of his game and yet got completely outmatch by Olof. He's not the first one but I believe average goaltending would have been good enough for Texas in games 5 to 7.

Well more blocked shots is good and we have no injuries in FHM so yeah everyone should try to do that. But Seamus has been laser focused on the shot blocks so I'm not surprised at all that he was able to pull in so many blocks. We should just have everyone lay on the ice

Regardless of Dionnes GSAA they are at a disadvantage when compared to Playoff Olof. I am doing this late but I know that Olof should be the obvious MVP of the playoffs and I believe he has an MVP in the past as well. Playoffs are just when the goalie needs to be hot and Olof always steps up to the challenge when needed and completely stands on his head. First ballet HOF or I quit.

Well I procrastinated so I get to do the procastinator special. Clearly New Ebgland won, but even though I am on New England and love me a good cup, I think Texas got robbed. After being up 3-1 then losing 3 in a row and with some shorties and such I can see how they can be a bit salty about the whole situation. But I guess FHM does FHM things and each game comes down to RNG but my initial thought of what they could have done to win? Make more goals and let in less. It is really that simple right? Well I guess not. But when we have Playoff Olof in the net you can never be sure how they'll be able to score at all. I did pick TEX for my predictions to win the cup so I lost a tpe out of that. It's about an even trade huh?

9. I think that the team I would pick as most likely to win their first Cup of the FHM era among those who have won the Cup under the old STHS era would be the Baltimore Platoon. I know the Platoon had a down year last year after making it to the Finals in the season prior, but I think they are the best team that looks likely to break their duck. They have a good core of players, strong leadership from Trips, and I think they have lots of good people there that are highly invested in seeing them succeed and win games. This doesn’t mean, of course, that they will get across that hump and win the Cup, but I think they have set themselves up well to be in a good position to succeed in they continue on the same path they are on currently. There’s a lot of things that need to go right for them to get across the line. That said, I am of the belief that they will continue to do the right things ,but themselves in the best spot possible and bring a Cup back to the Baltimore area for their fans and their team.

I think that New England wins the series as experience does matter, not so much in terms of players for FHM but in the organization’s ability to adapt and put themselves in the best position to succeed. They can make those adjustments and not panic if they fall down in the series and adjust. This is why they came back and won the series in the end.

Kristian Seppanen, the star right defenceman for the Atlanta Inferno hockey team of the simulation hockey league, otherwise known as the SHL, an online simulation hockey league where users role-play as hockey players and live out their dreams of professional hockey success, had an alright season with the Atlanta Inferno. The Atlanta Inferno greatly outperformed expectations in the season as a team, making the playoffs despite being predicted to possibly have a losing record. However, Kristian Seppanen only had 33 points, 151 blocked shots, 44 takeaways, 16 giveaways, 52 hits, and 121 shots. Not the greatest season, however Kristian Seppanen is a few seasons away from regression still, meaning he is continuing to improve as the entire Atlanta Inferno roster improves with him. Kristian Seppanen will hopefully surpass one thousand, five hundred (1,500) total points earned (TPE) by the end of the upcoming season, and break 2,000 TPE in the near future which will hopefully see him achieve greatness, including several awards and championships with his Inferno teammates, friends, and family. - 171 words, +3 TPE

12. Although I am predicting that Team Canada wins IIHF Gold this season, I am hopeful that Team Finland manages to pull a medal, and maybe even gold, out. I want Team Finland to succeed to ensure a better chance at a successful hall of fame career for star defenceman, Kristian Seppanen, who also plays for the Atlanta Inferno hockey team in the eastern conference of the Simulation Hockey League. I would like Kristian Seppanen to win a medal, as well as be nominated for a defensemen focused award for the IIHF tournament. I also hope that team Norden wins gold in the WJC, after being carried by Finnish national players - to highlight the growing and exceptional player pool that team Finland has which will help carry the team to new heights and long-term success for the federation. Last season's results were a surprise for the team, as we expected to perform better - but that doesn't mean that we can't hope for improvements this season and more success for the federation! - 170 words, +3 TPE

I'd like to write a little bit about both tournaments this year as my player will be competing at both levels, and I have taken on the task of Co-GMing a WJC team as well. We'll start in the IIHF with France who I expect to surprise some people. France, as one of the newer nations, is still rather small. However, with their excellent talent at acquiring youth transfers this team has a bright future ahead. It already has some excellent veteran presence who have proven themselves in the SHL and on the international stage. Shifting to the WJC, Team Rhine looks to improve on its performance from last season and hopefully medal. Hopefully the team can find a way to push for a strong finish and earn that gold medal that they have a solid chance at getting. Team North America, on the other hand, has an uphill battle. They have some stud players ready to anchor the team, however they will need some solid performances from their younger players to help push them over the edge. They have also brought in a couple of loan players they hope will help them finish off the round robin with a few more wins than what other teams might expect them to gain. If they could some how make it to the knockout stage, it would be quite impressive.

Well the New England Wolfpack showed their resilience in a come from behind series win over the Texas Renegades. Texas had every opportunity to close the series out going up three to one after the first four games. Unfortunately, they were unable to finish dropping three games in a row to the Wolfpack. Games five and six were extremely close; if they had dug just a little bit harder there is a chance Texas could have finished it off.

Overall, Patya am thinking he am play pretty well this season. Patya getting older every day and is not easy for keep up with much young players any more, so any time Patya having pretty good point total, is good season for Patya to be having. Patya next season expecting some more fall off but Patya am happy for being productive with less responsible. Patya definitely being hit much hard by regression and am thinking that realistic anything close to how Patya am been playing this past season is pretty much where Patya can peak now. Patya well past awards and am now purely just play for maybe get chance at win cup because this am always be ultimate goal for Patya. Patya in twilight of career and it been much good so Patya happy with how he am able to perform for much long time. Patya just hoping when he am hang up skates that people am remembering just how good Patya been at his best. Patya thinking he maybe having next season and then is time for skate off into the sunset. Patya knowing he am bring much joy to people for so long that regardless of what am be happening next season, Patya am feeling full.

Patya thinking New England am just being so good for past bunch of seasons now because am such strong team. They am also winning season 70 cup and season 74 cup and also lose in finals a few more times. Is very much impressive dynasty for New England. Patya thinking maybe only thing Texas can do better for win is just play even harder. Patya not really thinking they do anything much wrong because it am taking them all 7 games for lose so Texas is still much strong team. Patya favorite part of series is game 7 and see New England face much adversity and pull out win! Patya thinking maybe New England am even keep rolling next season and able for make finals again!
