I think that SHL would be better with two more teams. I think that IIHF don't need it, because there are plenty nations to root for. It's almost better than in real life. SMJHL is for new players too and they pretty quickly leave them, so SHL is the only league which needs that. Anaheim, San Jose, Pittsburgh and many other cities would be better with a team.

I think planet earth has its fair share of teams already, and the moon is already taken since the puzzling decision to add quebec to the iihf, so I'd make a team on mars, logistics be damned.

Little bias here but, there should definitely be a New York team added to the SMJHL & SHL. You could specify it to boroughs and specifically have a Brooklyn/Queens/Bronx team. Also not opposed to a Long Island based team to shout out home base!

I think Kansas City could use an SHL hockey team. No clue why, it's not my job to explain my reasoning, but just some middle of nowhere city with a pro hockey team is funny.

Any expansion would need to add a team to both East and West. In the East, Pittsburgh and Nashville are prime candidates with markets ready to support a great team. In the West, I think the American Southwest deserves a shot at redemption in the hockey world and would be a great fit.

This is the easiest prompt ever. New York. How we don't have a team in New York considering its actual position in real life is criminal. I am all for the Canadian representation but its like the biggest city in the USA no? Get a team in there stat.

I'll do one for each.
SHL : I think the league needs a non-traditional market glory story, so the Burlington Goons would be my choice. Vermont is a great place to be, great hockey location, so why not? SMJHL : my second choice other than Ottawa when I applied, the Pittsburgh Confluence. IIHF : I think its time we start thinking outside the box, in this case outside the planet as i'd be all in for Team Moon @jason kranz sig elite / @sulovilen elite sig

I think they should expand the SMJHL further so that there are enough teams for some to miss the playoffs. The east coast seems to have a lack of teams in the larger cities.

If the SHL has zero people banging the "no non-North American teams" drum, I'm dead. I've never been in a position to officially oppose it, but I voice my displeasure each time.
I also constantly speak with disgust that we have no team in Ohio: 7th largest state by population, three top 40 metro areas, and Columbus itself is the 14th largest US city. It's a no brainer--go to Ohio!

I think another PNW team in the SMJHL would be really neat. One rebrand idea that I was going up to bat for internally was a Tacoma based team, but it ultimately didn’t garner as much support as the Walleye

All I see are more NA teams, I think this league should expand outside North America for once. This is a fake league, who cares about logistics. We already have a team quebec in iihf and they're about to expand to the moon anytime soon. I would see more world capitals in here like london, tokyo, seoul, why not have a team in petra? We can figure out later how to make it work

SHL should add Boston and Detroit. I feel like those are too big markets that are missing teams. Also Pittsburgh but I don't like Pittsburgh so I hope they never get a team ever
*Thank you Nokazoa and Squid for the sigs! |
