S79 PT #4: Always On line Due: Sunday, November 10th @ 11:59 PM PST
#46

Jussi Mutou has had the pleasure of getting to play with Emil Karlsson since his call-up. Having a skilled Center to ground the lineup and make finesse plays is a great compliment to Jussi’s physical game. On the other wing, however, is a player Jussi is even more familiar with. It’s other half of the original Legion of Boom, Xavier Beausoleil! Having played all 4 of their J seasons on the same line has allowed the pair to build up a ton of chemistry. And now that he’s joined Montreal, the dynamic duo can bring their physically dominant game to the big leagues. Of all the players on Montreal, Jussi tends to stick with Beausoleil the most. Although he’s brought Karlsson, Ju-Gong, Enevoldsen, and Slurpe into his main circle, he also tries his best not to be too cliquey. With great chemistry spreading across the lineup, Montreal is going to be a very strong competitor.

At the beginning of the season, Marineau met with management regarding his role for this season. Ultimately, Marineau took it upon himself to ask for the task of being the centreman for their two young rookie forwards from this year's draft. Marineau has played alongside Rocky Gislason and Enlightened Centrist for the entire season. Gislason was selected second overall and Centrist was selected 7th overall. Marineau was super excited to get the opportunity to play with two up and coming superstars. The trio found it a little hard at the beginning of the season to get going and it took some time to gain some chemistry, which is now paying off. They have been having a fantastic second half of the season and are hoping to continue as they head towards the playoffs. The three young stars of the Raptors are always together on the ice at practice, helping each other out in drills and constantly communicating. The relationship has grown off the ice as well and they are always having dinners and doing fun activities together like golfing!

Written Option 1

AT-AT Wøllker is in his rookie season as a defenseman for the Seattle Argonauts. He has been hugely fortunate to have spent the season paired with an Argonauts legend. The mentorship of Wendolene Ramsbottom has been a traditional veteran-rookie pairing. But Ramsbottom is more than just a player, he is a defensive giant - he recently announced that this would be his final season, and when he retires he will be 3rd all-time in shots blocked in the history of the league. Ramsbottom was top 3 in shot blocks for the last 5 seasons, and even in this last run he sits in the top 10 list for that statistic. And right behind him is the rookie, Wøllker has been watching and taking lessons and sees himself also in the top 10 list. Ramsbottom has set career objectives that are at an elite level and will be Wøllker's targets to achieve and surpass. Ramsbottom is exactly the type of player that AT-AT is striving to become. There really isn't anybody else who could have been the perfect partner for Wøllker to begin his career.

Written option 2:

Of course Spaceman Spiff pays attention to social media, it's nearly impossible not to have an interest in what his fans are sending him. That's the best part of course. The fans. The creative images, the video clips, and the supportive messages are all bright points between games. Spiff has an active page on most social media platforms, interacting with these fans as much as he can. But along with this comes the negative side of social media, the ones that get on him for little defensive mistakes or missing an open net or the easy pass, but Spiff has an excellent assistant that helps keep as much of that away from him as possible. Spiff's primary drive is to focus on the positive instead of the negative and with so much negativity on social media he needs that assistant to keep focused. He doesn't need hundreds of spectator coaches to tell him what he did wrong, Spiff has real coaches for that, and they can help guide him to making the right decision next time, instead of just berating him. And as always, he never ignores a fan's pet picture. They're even better than that rest of the good fan messages.

Written Option 1: On X, Hannah follows the positive comments about her. She doesn't appreciate the trash-talk about Newfoundland, BUT any harsh trash-talk to herself would be paid back with a trash-talk to them, and MORE harsher. That's rare because Hannah wants to be respectful, and players all around the SMJHL are being respectful to her. Hannah likes to go on social media, so she usually posts a lot of stuff about her personal life and life playing for a professional hockey team. Most of the posts come in the offseason however, as there isn't much time to post during practices or games. One time, she once tried to start a TikTok account, but it didn't go the way she wanted. She barely got any views! Hannah plays a huge role in the Berserkers TikTok however, so that cancels out Crowders personal TikTok account.

Option 2: Nor doesn’t really pay attention to what is being said about him on the internet, whether it is on social medial or what journalist are currently seeing about him, because he knows it would probably lead him to question himself and lose confidence every time, he read something negative about him. He does have social media on all the most popular platform, but he doesn’t read the comments. If he posts something that leads to any kind of interaction, he will usually have someone working in the media department for the team or for his management team goes through the comment to filter them before Nor actually goes through the comment and answer them. He regularly does question and answer videos where fans can send in whatever question they have for him, and he answers a bunch of them in a video he posts on all his platform. However, Nor doesn’t post anything on social media that is not related to hockey.

This season the Inferno have teamed Dan Johnston up with Sim Wen. I believe this is their first season together as a defensive pairing, but at the same time Dan barely pays attention to who is on the other side of the ice. As long as that player is in the correct position, or open when Dan needs to find an open spot to pass to Dan doesn't really pay much attention. He just worries about going about things on his own and making sure he is doing his job to the best of abilities. Now outside of the game, Dan does find enjoyment in attending different functions with his team and teammates and loves doing team bonding exercises. Dan will try to acknowledge his line mates a bit more heading forward and is enjoying the playing time with Wen that he is receiving. They seem to have built a great amount of chemistry so far and are both plus players in terms of plus/minus which really as a defense man is all you can ask for.

Written Option 2:

Ima Noobie loves to interact with fans (and haters) on social media. Remember, he was a YouTube social media influencer before he joined the SMJHL. Noobie is fully aware that controversy creates cash and rowdy equals ratings and being a "menace" as he was called back in the J Draft has gotten him noticed. And he uses that to his advantage in social media, fighting with fans over anything from food takes to Jim Carrey movies. However, he is very astute in who he fights with online and who he is cordial with. Noobie seeks out fans of the Newfoundland Berserkers and Edmonton Blizzard and looks for chances to come to their defense when they are trash talking with the fans of other teams. Recently, he has become a thorn in the online side of fans of the Quebec City Citadelles as the Berserkers chase their rivals in the Southern Conference.

Option 2:

Paul Bondage is addicted to his social media. He refuses to call it X, it will always be Twitter regardless of what that dipshit wants to call it. He did learn from a certain someone that creating a burner account was the way to go. Number1BondageFan was the username he chose, certain to not bring any weird direct messages to his inbox. Amidst the multiple messages asking for pics, offering to sell pics, etcetera etcetera, he makes sure to comment on every article, every naysayer that he can find. No one knows it is him, and that's the wonder! He can be as crude and as rude as he wants and there is no way this could ever possibly come back to haunt him in the future when he inevitably runs for office in the states! Though most of his comments boil down to nothing more than simple vulgar insults anytime any one person is even the slightest bit critical of him.

written 1: Lias has only been in Los Angeles for almost two seasons now, and he doesn't have that much on-ice chemistry with anybody. The exception to this, obviously, is Mikko Rashford, who Lias spent over ten seasons playing on a forward line with. Now that Lias has switched to playing defense in his advanced age, he and Rashford still have that established chemistry but don't often get to put it to as much use. He also had developed some chemistry with Jonas Salat, but Jonas got traded to Minnesota, so it's back to just Rashford that Lias has any officially-logged chemistry with on ice. That being said, Lias gets along phenomenally with his teammates, and tries to be as much of a positive influence in the locker room as he can. He's one of the oldest players on the team, so he tries to be a good example and somebody who younger players can look to for advice or a listening ear when things are rough.

Written Option 2: Social media is part of the everyday life wanted we it or not, and thus it is easier than ever before to find what people are thinking and writing about you. How much does your player follow what is written or talked about them around the internet? Is it mostly positive or negative? Do they interact with said media and if they do how? Maybe they are starting the conversations themselves to get more attention?

Gato is terminally online. Like 24/7 glued to the ipad like a kid who has to be entertained as their parents enjoy a meal at a fine dining restaurant establishment. Naturally of course, this means Gato sees every last comment, bad take, and rumor that is whispered about him throughout the various social media platforms. And you bet that he's replying to every single one. Can't let these casual fans get away with calling his shot blocking game weak! Of course, this means Gato has a tendency to get into a bit of trouble, becoming somewhat of a controversial player in the league for his well known bickering online with fans of both his own, and opposing teams. Thankfully being a professional hockey player, his salary allows him to hire a top tier PR team to handle his day in day out controversies. It's all part of his branding though, all media attention is good media, even if it's bad press. And he's learned to capitalize on it with Gato merch sales! At the end of the day it's all just for fun a games, and the die hard fans know he doesn't actually take the comments online seriously.

The Seattle Argonauts top line trio of Shadow Fenix, Squidwardo Tentacles, and Will Tomlander are a tight knit trio that came up together. Forged together in the S74 rookie season, this top line proved that they gel well together and managed to show the future trajectory of the Argonauts to the fans and the league. Shadow Fenix won the Rookie of the year award and arguably Will Tomlander should have been nominated as well, as both led the rookie class in scoring, not to mention the Argonauts team. Seeing the trio together during practice you can see that they have become familiar with each other and can predict what their linemate will do, thus improving their chemistry and positioning. This is apparent during games too, as an experiment to break up the trio to spread out scoring did not work well with the Argonauts, the results proving that the cohesion was too great to give up in order to bolster other lines. Thankfully with new talent coming in, the three can stay together to do what they do best.

Written Option 1: Hockey is ultimate teamsport and who you are on ice with often can be more impactful than your own skill to the end results. So who are your players linemates, defensive pair or other half of the goalie tandem? Have they been playing together for long and reached very high chemistry or are they still building towards that? Do they help out each other during the practice? Do they spend time with each other outside of the rink or is it strictly professional relationship?

Tom Pedersen plays left wing with Sunrise van de Schubbekutteveen as center and Arthur Kaliyev as right winger. They have played together for some time. This season is the fourth season they are on the same line. There have been some nicknames for their line over the years. PSK, Tom Arthur Van Sunrise or just Calgary’s #1 line. Tom Pedersen is the hard working two way forward working his ass off while Sunrise van de Schubbekutteveen is making plays in the middle trying to feed Arthur Kaliyev that will hang around the blueline ready to score some goals. Before this line Tom Pedersen used to play left winger on a line with Sophie Bordeleau and Greg Davies for two seasons. Before Davies it was Lev Lebedev for two seasons. And before that again it was Tommy Tightpants playing on that right wing for a season. Many seasons with Sophie Bordeleau that is. Before that Tom Pedersen was center between Axel Kirby and Alexis Saint-Michel. The year earlier Din Djarin played instead of Kirby. That was also the lineup the year before. And to all the questions that needed to be answered: No, no, no, no and no.
