Gonna take mine from The Greatest Generation album that The Wonder Years put out in 2013, from "Passing Through A Screen Door".
"Jesus Christ, I'm 26
All the people I graduated with
All have kids
All have wives
All have people who care if they come home at night
Well, Jesus Christ, did I fuck up?"
It's the delivery of that last line by Soupy that really sells it. I had just recently turned 27 before this album came out and I didn't have my life sorted out at all. It just really resonated with me. Also, banger of a fucking album if you've never listened to TWY.
BONUS RUNNER UP:
From the album Under Soil and Dirt by The Story So Far, this little bit from "High Regard".
"Barter and trade, always passive-aggressive
In spite of who you say you are
Smother my name under soil and dirt in the earth
Widen the distance apart
Fuck an apology, I'm not sorry for anything
I've been holding back my apathy for far too long
You don't deserve what you haven't earned
And your place in my heart has just grown so small"
I had been through a really bad break-up from a toxic relationship prior to this album coming out, and the majority of album is basically a big "fuck you" to Parker's ex, and this is the definitive modern pop-punk break up album imo.
