s56 mPT #3 - Trade Deadline
#76

An SHL team that should be buying this season are the Inferno. The team has already come out and surprised, looking poised to be close to a contender in the East. Why not add a bit and make a true run at it in your first season?

The Pride seem like they could be trying to find some pieces for their team during this period of the season. With how the season has been, they seem like they would really need the help from possible trades.

The Atlanta Inferno should be active around this trade deadline in my opinion. The Inferno are a good team but I think to really have a shot at the cup we need some more depth down the middle offensively.

The San Fransisco Pride should sell literally all of their players. Then they can start from scratch and at the same time guarentee at least a few wins a season for the Argonauts.

I think the team that I am going to focus on is my New England Wolfpack. Currently, they are 13-12 which puts them about 12 points out of the second position in the Eastern Conference. What should they do? I really think they should stand pat and not do anything at all. I mean, I know it's probably not something that you like to hear as someone on the team, but you don't want to sell because you really have no spots for a lot of your prospects down in the minors already. You could buy, but buying may not really get you much of anywhere given the fact that there are only 25 games left in the season. You could try to package some of your prospects, but again, you are a little far out for that from second place. If I was the GM, I would just sit pat and wait to see what happens.

Detroit - Should absolutely be selling at this deadline, trading away veteran presence for younger players who can make an impact in 2-3 seasons (S56/S57 SHL draftee players). If they trade for draft picks that could work but may delay their compete by a season or two. Otherwise, trading for those current young players is their best bet

I think a team that should always buy is the Edmonton Blizzard. I don't know exactly what they would need but the Blizzard are always among the league's best. Maybe some defense to go along with their great offense but the team is in great shape to grab a cup. I think the Blizzard could buy a piece or two and really make a run as the best team in the SHL.

Teams that should BUY
Edmonton Blizzard- The Blizzard could use some help on the defensive side. This would shore up an otherwise solid lineup and increase their Cup chances.

New Orleans Specters- The Specters would benefit from some added offensive weapons down the stretch and Cup run.

Teams that should SELL
Seattle Argonauts- Selling off some of their top guys to get additional value in picks or younger players would be a wise move. Stockpile Picks

New England Wolfpack- The Wolfpack are in no mans land. Definitely are not in the running for the Cup. So I would sell off some pieces.

The San Francisco Pride should be in sell mode. They are currently last in their division and are still holding onto the winger Jeff Brogen. The dude has over 1400 tpe and still playing for them. In addition, he is from s43 so already in his regression. Now is the time to sell him to get some sort of value. I am sure that playoff teams will bid on him for a fair value.

I think Buffalo should be extremely active in trading their top players now while they're still marketable. I think trading them to NEW for a couple 3rd round picks would be reasonable, and possibly a 2nd if they play their cards right.

The Hamilton Steelhawks should be very active on the trade front this trade deadline. Being 1st in the league, they should look towards selling off locker room cancers like Samuel Michaud and Gabe Johnson

Hamilton Steelhawks should definitely be trying to make some deals at the deadline. We could use a couple of depth players but I think the most important thing right now is to get rid of Gabriel Johnson because he stinks and I hate him.

At the trade deadline I feel that the San Francisco Pride should be selling and looking to start a full rebuild. They have a few young skilled players in the pipeline and that should be the window they are worried about going forward.

Atlanta Inferno
Atlanta is in a good spot for being a brand new team. Their weakness looks to be the age of their roster. Half of their players are in regression. The question will be whether their prospects can improve fast enough to match the window of opportunity their older players have. They might want to look to buy some younger talent that's still a ways away from regression.

Baltimore Platoon
Baltimore needs to either trade for young actives or sell their top players for draft picks. Someone like Nat Emerson won't be relevant by the time their next window opens. Trading him for picks or young actives could be a good deal.

Buffalo Stampede
Buffalo don't need to to anything, really. They're in a great spot.

Calgary Dragons
This might be Calgary's last real chance for gold in this window. I think we should see Calgary buying rentals to go all-in this season. And then probably start selling in the offseason.

Chicago Syndicate
Chicago is a team that should buy any upgrade they can. If they are to have a true chance to take home the cup they need any help they can get. They're a great team. But with Hamilton and Buffalo in the way anything they can upgrade will be vital.

Edmonton Blizzard
Edmonton's in a comfortable spot. They should stay put and wait for next season.

Hamilton Steelhawks
If anything Hamilton should buy just to bulk up even more to secure the cup.

Los Angeles Panthers
Los Angeles has a good prospect pool. But an older roster. I think they should sell some of their veterans for picks or young guys. They need a fresh start after last offseason.

Manhattan Rage
Manhattan's window is slowly closing. But they shouldn't sell just yet. They're looking great.

Minnesota Monarchs
Minnesota needs to commit to the rebuild. Sell off all high-earning veterans for picks or younglings. This deadline would be a good opportunity with the top-5 teams about to battle it out. Any upgrade would help them against the rest and Minnesota has a few good names to give up.

New England Wolfpack
Prospect pool is golden but the roster aging. Someone like Volkov can be a good rental to trade away for picks. Any active and good earning player they can get their hands on would also be preferable. New England should be looking to both buy and sell. Depending on the market.

New Orleans Specters
Maybe they'd be able to sell off Cain this deadline? They tried really hard in the offseason and I think they should keep trying. A top-2 goalie could make the different for a competing team.

Seattle Argonauts
Seattle should either stay put or try to sell off some of their better inactives. As the second expansion team they focused more on future growth. Collecting pick and younglings is what they should do.

San Francisco Pride
At this point in time I think it's best for San Francisco sell anyone old they still have and go for the rebuild. Selling for picks and younglings.

Tampa Bay Barracuda
Tampa shouldn't do anything. They're still in the rebuild and are growing stronger by the week.

Texas Renegades
I believe Texas should buy, if anything. Not to compete this season. But to continue building on their already promising future.

Toronto North Stars
Similarly to Tampa, Toronto's future is looking good. Perhaps they have some more players they can trade away for younger active. Like Kandinsky.

Winnipeg Jets
Winnipeg has a very old roster. I think it's time they start looking at the possibility to at least retool. Sell off some veterans and build for the future.

I think the Anchorage Armada should try to find anyone other than Swiss cheese man scoochie Scranton. Literally a liability every game. A fucking dummy in gear would be a better alternative.
