S55 mPT #4 - Make The Case

AGAINST: The new expansion teams should be placed in West Virginia and Montana #NOLEAKS

There are only two correct citys for the expansion: Zürich and Bern. Well these arent American countrys i know (maybe a ton of you frisky americans dont) to be precise they are swiss citys. Now why should we take em? To make traveling from america to Switzerland faster we're gonna invent teleportation mechanisms so we dont endanger the nature to much.

Thank you @Carpy48, @honkerrs

No one can hold a candle to the Berserkers; they will hoist the Four Star Cup

Against: There are already 3 candles hold up to them by Carolina, Anchorage and Kelowna. And even then, someone with a longer shot like Colorado or Maine could still prove to be very dangerous in the playoffs. There are no cups won without the work being put in, and Newfoundland will have to prove themselves in the postseason, not in the regular season.

Against. I'm against that because I want at least one team in Europe. That would be fun if there will be team in Latvia but we are very small country to do that. But team from Sweden , Finland or Switzerland would be fun.

Definitely agree here. I think tig's placement in Seattle is tragic, taking away the franchise from the much-more-deserving Montana. If it were up to me, the Eastern expansion team would be in West Virginia, but unfortunately I am powerless and have no ability to ensure that happens

Scholz or Kirkby will win the Stevens Award for best defenseman

This is clearly not the case. Lets not forget about the great defensman Tig Murphy who has gotten close to 400 points for the Stealhawks in his career! @notorioustighas done great things in his career and this season is not going to slow down his pace for being the best defensman in Stealhawks history. The team looks forward to him continuing his career for the Stealhawks for the duration of FHM.

The Berserkers do have a stacked roster, but the past has shown that doesn't proven anything. Look at the Falcons last season. A very similar team, that barely even made the playoffs, let alone went deep and challenged for the Four Star Cup.

New Orleans will break the FHM President's Trophy Curse and win the Challenge Cup as well

against for the simple reason that i dont believe the new orleans specters will win the President's trophy. The reason is also pretty simple, as they are not even in the lead right now with one sim to go.

Against. Umm, sir, they may be one of the contenders, but it's way more likely for some other team to win. Carolina in the East is very capable of winning again, and Maine has some potential to surprise teams in the playoffs. In the West there are Anchorage and Kelowna, who have been really good too, and Colorado is not super far from them. So I'd say it's not likely at all.

Collin Gibbles will finish with the most takeaways in the league for the third straight season

This is extremely likely, he's already beaten his personal record and last I checked was closing in on a nice total of 69 on the season. He's the best at this particular element of defensive play and should be for some time.

AGREE!
The SHL needs Swiss teams because everyone loves Switzerland. We have fondue, chocolate, scenic mountain regions, and Rolexes. What isn't there to love?

The MVP awards are Monkey D Luffy's to lose

I am for this one. As the season is now over it is now known that Luffy has lost out on his chance to win the MVP. He was leading the pack for much of the season before going on a bit of a cool stretch. He was living on cloud nine for most of the season to the point where he started living rent free in his own head. The high thoughts quickly turned to lows as he fell out of 1st place. His shot started to suffer as he couldn't hit a side of a barn.

Against. When I think about West Virginia, I think, "why?" A team in Michigan would make more sense to me, because I'm biased. Give kids who don't want to drive to a North Stars game a new team to root for. On the other hand, growing the game in the south or somewhere closer to Tampa Bay could help with a rivalry, so what about Atlanta instead? That sounds more fun. For Montana, also no. Somewhere like Salt Lake City could help bring in fans from surrounding SMJHL teams that hate the California SHL teams.

FOR: No one can hold a candle to the Berserkers; they will hoist the Four Star Cup

The Newfoundland Berserkers are a force to be reckoned with in the SMJHL this season due to the tremendous depth they have throughout the lineup. We're not just talking about a bunch of evenly balanced lines - there is elite talent from top to bottom. There isn't really such a thing as "secondary scoring" on this team because anyone can get the job done on any night and it's unsurprising. It will be difficult for any team to match up against them.

a bottomless curse, a bottomless sea, source of all greatness, all things that be.

A bit forward-looking here, but Tampa Bay will continue their drastic improvement and win double-digit games next season

AGAINST. I don't think Tampa is at a place as a franchise to be hitting that mark yet. They've sold off their team to build for the future, and I don't think that bright future is going to hit its stride for 2-3 seasons.

Of the major trades that have gone down in the past month, Edmonton's move for Theo Morgan stands out as the best of all.

I do believe that the Theo Morgan trade was the one that stands out the most for the Blizzard. He led the league in scoring with 37 goals, 5 more than the second place. To have that kind of impact and finishing the season with 69 (nice.) points stands out to me the most.
