Buffalo, the armpit of NY state. A place where one can get frostbite and a sunburn on the same day. A place where homeless families regularly take up residence in potholes. A place where the local “cuisine” consists of deep frying chicken wings. A place where a few Genny cream ales and blue cheese are considered fine dining.

A young boy, in the middle of a custody battle was being questioned by the judge about who he would like to live with. The boy explained he was regularly beaten by his parents and didn’t want to live with either The judge initially awarded custody to his aunt. The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him. The judge ultimately agreed with the boy’s judgment and granted temporary custody to the Buffalo Stampede, whom nobody believes are capable of beating anyone
