Highest TPE Players in SMJHL History

A question has been spinning around in my head for the past few weeks: who is the highest TPE player to ever play in the SMJHL? Has anyone ever hit 1000 TPE in juniors? 

After a few hours of research, I found my answer. In the process of finding my answer, I discovered three important trends: 
1. As many of you know, TPE earing has steadily risen over the past few seasons due to increase PT opportunity and lengthened seasons. Many of the older classes are significantly lower in total TPE by the time they are called up.
2. Players are staying down in juniors longer, leading to higher pre-callup totals. 
3. Claiming TPE varies based on player and when they actually claimed their earned TPE. This creates variation between similar players.

Taking these factors into account, I decided to measure TPE by a standard date to keep thing more fair between classes. The standard is claimed TPE at the last playoff game of their final season. (Some players actually played in this game, more on that later). Note: a lot of these players unbanked right around 985 TPE after their big offseason claims. 


Here is the top TPE players by the end of the season, no matter if they played in the Final or not:

**An asterisk means they played in the final game, meaning they are the highest to actually play an SMJHL game. Meaning quite literally the best to ever play a game. Congrats Theo Kondos!

Quite an impressive list! It is honestly amazing to me how Liam Slate was able to gobble up so much TPE early on in his career. I did my best to try to find everyone that could have been on this list. I looked through the TPE leaders for each class back to about S49. It's possible someone way back should be on this list. 

On the Lookout:
Gonzo Gobbledygook (728 TPE) @tweedledunn is playing next season and is closing in on these totals. Expect him to be near the top in a few months.

Could also throw CaptainCrazy (Asclepius Perseus Flitterwind) up in that top grouping too.  They were 2nd in our class until they became ia more recently, but wasn't too far behind Tylar when they were called up.
