S62 PT#6: Wrap-up

With the playoffs for the Knights coming to an end by the Kraken it's a sad day for Skoda. Did not really do anything again the playoffs hurts the offensive forward. Basing his whole game around being able to produce points for his team and then getting stopped in multiple games sucks. However, with Skoda only getting better from here he is sure to be a better player than last year. With reaching 30 points last season was a great thing to do Skoda has higher expectations next season. One thing Skoda wants to do is make the powerplay unit for his team. Being given the chance to prove he can produce while his team has the advantage on the ice and that his coaches trust him to go out their and get a goal for the team is big.

This season didn't end the way I had hoped in the SHL. Unfortunately Buffalo lost to Hamilton and I didn't likely get any individual hardware. I still had a good season but its tough to be done with your peak. As far as SMJHL we just won the cup so that of course could not have gone better. Overall I feel like my focus has shifted back towards Newfoundland so things feel a lot better and we have a great group of guys there that are coming back for more seasons. I just hope the rest of my SHL career plays out well so I still have a shot at that hall of fame.

PROMPT 2: Well you know what I have been doing, testing for playoffs, which has taken quite some time and we are soon to be heading to finals against everyone's favorite bird team. We had some very tense series versus Los Angeles and Chicago but nothing compares to the what I'm expecting from the finals. While in general I doubt repeat of last seasons final sparks much interest in anyone I hope we can make it more entertaining this season yet I'm still eager to see what HO has been working on to help balance the FHM knowledge between teams and how much it can help. I feel like it will likely hurt us like the regression but it is hard to argue it wouldn't be for the betterment of the league.

It's been an up and down season for Regina. Some big wins and some even bigger losses have made the season fun to watch, but we know we can do better. After an early exit from the season, the LR has started to get into full offseason mode and with holidays around the corner, things will surely pick up as we head toward the draft. REgina just secured the 3rd overall pick and will look to add to its bright, young core as we head into season three of this young franchise's existence. With plenty of high earning leaders in the locker room, next season will surely be a breakthrough, and Regina will be a team to watch.

Prompt 2

So I guess I just talk about the SHL in here for a bit eh? Well I guess I can just say that things have been odd coming back. I started out wanting to be a max earner, and while I am earning a lot more than I did as my last player, I'm still pretty far behind and keep missing some tasks. I guess I just kind of lost interest. My player hasnt really progressed towards anything. Sure theyre still around, and now have a championship. But ive regressed in hits, regressed in shot blocks, regressed in penalty minutes, and regressed in defensive rating. Basically everything I set out to try and be good with this player hasnt come through. So I'm kinda just hanging on with this guy before I hang it up for good with sim leagues. Just all feels kind of bitter sweet to think this is where I'm at now

Prompt 2

Honestly, like, how cool is it that sim leagues like this are even a thing? Like, really, think about it. At some point in time, some hockey loving nerd decided "I'm gonna make a hockey league, but, like, with fake players people can make for themselves, and they can grow their players, and some of them can be GMs, and there'll be a draft, and playoffs, and game livestreams and all of this cool shit" and a bunch of other people thought "Yo that's really fucking cool, I'm down to join". I mean, of course the history isn't that simple, but the point is that this is just a really fucking neat idea, I'm glad someone made it a thing and I'm glad that I've discovered it, I just wish I'd discovered it sooner. Also, fuck Vancouver. And Anchorage.

Prompt 2-

Hey slash buddy you did a real good job on PT's this season. Having two prompts and the season long prompt was really cool. I didn't participate in the season long one, but if you do one next season I think i will for sure do it because its been really fun to read them every week. This season was great, Hamilton is in the finals again, and we're making a lot of changes in the league that seem like they might have some really good effects. While obviously this sets Hamilton back a bit, I'd rather have a league to participate in and not win than win and have no one care. Great job this season and go birds.

It was an unfortunate end to the season for Kelowna, a sweep in round 1 only to get swept in round 2. But with the increase to 425 TPE applied for S62 players on the horizon, hopefully next season will bring some better results in the playoffs for us. I believe I'm still 2nd, or at least top 5 in TPE for S62, so that's pretty nice, I did win my fantasy group (I think by like 125 points) so I get a nice 10 TPE but also Rashford won their group, so I don't gain any ground on #1 in TPE in the class. It's good for Winnipeg though, since they were able to draft both me and Rashford, as well as several other S62 top earners.

Prompt 2

Just gonna semi-complain semi-concerned moan into this void of a thread about how it's been a bit concerning, from my limited point of view, how the league has gotten so much less excited about things in the last season. Holiday time is a crazy time so I'm sure a lot of it is due to that, but it does seem like the fire behind everyone has cooled down a little, at least for now. Discords are much quieter, sim chats are slower, etc. There's a noticeable increase in the amount of discussion about retiring players and just hanging out with the people they've met. I appreciate and respect those decisions fully and will always support those who don't have time for a goofy fun place like this one, but when it's just about overall enthusiasm it's difficult to ignore.

For topic two, honestly? I feel fucking tired. I am so exhausted, and I don't know why. I do not think it is burn out, I do not think I am actively protesting anything, I think honestly I just feel so tired with everything. I am so thankful for the Juniors league because it really is keeping me interested in things, but I do not know what is up. It is not like anything is on fire or needs to be dramatically changed, there are now major drama pieces, it just feels like exhausting backroom work is getting to me and there is no spark to be had currently. I still love the League and want to do things for it, I just find myself tired all the time

Kermit Murphy has been named to the Up-and-Comers team, which is unnerving for him as he knows it means he'll be suiting up against his father, Tig Murphy, who will be on the blueline for the Hall of Famers. One small comfort is the large amount of familiar talent joining him, as he will pair up with teammate Dee Centerman IV on one of the defensive pairings for the young guns squad, as well as linking up with young Argonauts forwards Vaseline Podcalzone and William Salming. He's also looking forward to playing with a major talent in Jonathan Grandstrom, as well as connecting with former Detroit teammates Luc Blouin and Pavel Jeziak, reuniting the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th overall picks of the S57 SMJHL draft. It will be tough sledding as this team will be comprised of the lowest TPE of any of the groups as well as the least experience, but the youthful energy could help them humble the old farts in their way.

Kermit was very nervous to take part in his first young guns game against the Grizzled Vets, especially when he looked across the neutral zone at puck drop and saw his defense partner with the Seattle Argonauts, Cassius Darrow, looking back at him. Along with other aging former stars like Aaron Wilson, Theo Morgan, Corey Kennedy, and Jimmy Slothface, Darrow was one of the long time SHL veterans to be named to the old timers squad ahead of the tournament. It was the old farts that had the advantage early, using their veteran savvy and experience to gain the upper hand and a quick two goal lead. But at about the halfway mark, the young stars began to push the pace to another level, hitting the vets with speed they could not quite match and tying the game. The stalemate would last until late in the third, when Murphy would blast a slapshot from the point off of Darrow's stick and into the net on the deflection, sealing the win for the kids.

The game he had been dreading finally happened. Kermit Murphy was standing on the same ice surface as his father Tig, a recent first ballot hall of famer. A man whose legacy he had tried to distance himself from for his own sanity by playing as a scoring forward until hitting the pro ranks, where his skillset was better translated to defense. The last time a Murphy wore #94 for the Argonauts, Tig Murphy won the Bojo Biscuit award for best defensive defenseman. In his rookie season, wearing the same number, Kermit would take home the coveted rookie of the year award. This gave him a boost in knowing he had a chance to live up to his father, a man who won awards on a reputation of being the offensive defender of a generation followed by a stretch as the league's best defensive stalwart. In the end, the elder Murphy showed his son that there was still much to learn, pacing the HOFers to a 3-2 victory with two goals and an assist.

Kermit Murphy was ecstatic to get another shot at taking down his Seattle Argonauts defense partner and mentor, Cassius Darrow - the captain of the Grizzled Vets squad. He had risen to the occasion in their first meeting with a few points, but the way Darrow was able to command the game and read plays on sheer experience stuck with Murphy even as they returned to Seattle to play together. After more and more practice time and games alongside the future Hall of Famer, Murphy was quickly learning to slow the game down for himself and make consistently positive plays in just about every scenario. This game represented a chance to prove himself further to the captain of the Argonauts who had taken him under his wing since he arrived in the organization. Murphy scored the first goal of the game, blocked 7 shots, and sent teammate Vaseline Podcalzone in alone on a breakaway late to seal a 2-0 win in his 26 minutes of ice time.

Team Young Guns couldn't believe they made it to this point, but knew they had a massive challenge ahead of them. The Superstars had beaten the pants off of them to this point in the tournament, with no games finishing within less than a 3 goal spread. They are quite literally the very best players in the game, and carry with them the level of confidence that superstardom brings. At puck drop, the professionalism and confidence took hold of the game immediately, putting the Young Guns on their heels as the Superstars took a 2-0 lead after 1. At this point, however, the younger players regrouped and managed to score a goal off a friendly bounce as Kermit Murphy fired one in off a shinpad in front. The Superstars attempted to respond, but the Young Guns goaltending held strong. A tied game heading into the third remained until late, when Murphy caught a bounce coming out of the penalty box and scored the winning goal on a breakaway with just 2 minutes remaining. The Young Guns showed that hockey is never played on paper, and that chaos is always a possibility.

I was recently traded from the New Orleans Specters to the Minnesota Monarchs and I think it has re-established a competitive drive for me as a site user, for a long time I was kind of just coasting along and I finally have the feeling of wanting to be back on top and I want to help establish the Monarchs as a great team, like they were back in the mid season thirties. Ultimately I think the change has been good for me as a whole, and I think it shown me that being willing to try new things is really good for you. I am thankful to the Monarchs for taking a chance on me, and I look forward to playing with the two other new acquistions @Lukstins88 and @Graydonsanatomy

Prompt 2

I'm glad that we have few options to do PT's. Most of the time I did second prompt, because I dropped on the train at first prompt at some point in this season. Also two option gave me a lot of more possibilities to make more easier PT's than strictly one. I'm also thankful to my team members at Atlanta locker room, who helped me to understand if prompt has been little bit harder understand, but that's also goes better than previous times and I don't need help to understand your task so much than earlier I needed.

I would say that I'm positive mind at PT's at the moment, they have been better and better shape every season and you also develop yourself as PT Head. I also fulfill few graphic task this season and that was fun too, even I know that I'm not artist or anything like that, but at least I try my best.
