S71 PT#2: Amenities and Appellations

Story Mode:

The stadium needs to be closest to the best brunch spots in town. We're talking all day, all you can eat breakfast buffets. Bottomless mimosas and bottomless breakfast sausage breakfast burritos. We can just call it something vaguely spooky. The Graveyard. The Spookydome. The Phylactary. That's second fiddle to making sure that the grounds around it (other than the all you can eat breakfast buffets) look as harsh and inhospitable as possible. I'd want the exterior of our gigantic 28,000,000 seat mega arena to look like the weathered, debris filled underbelly of a Diablo IV dungeon. In fact, I'd want the most hardened, seasoned Diablo player, the spookiest of goth GFs, and/or Tim Burton himself to look at the garish, nightmarish decorations and haunted house setting around our arena and balk at the sheer majesty and grandeur of it all. Maybe not a whole lot of gore on account of it being a place where people are supposed to take their kids.

With the new arena fully funded in Newfoundland, the naming rights would have to go to a fitting sponsor. Based on the locker locker rooms vibe, it would probably be the League of Legends Slaughterhouse. Most of the team loves that stupid game, so I'm sure they would love to get an advertising partnership with the company who makes it. As far as the arena district goes, we would certainly keep the venue in down town St Johns. We would incorporate a lavish surrounding in promenade. I would obviously have my Cafe in the promenade to serve my authentic fresh coffee. I would also bring my premier French restaurant for some fine dining as well. Other than that they could line the area with up scale hotels, breweries or bars. I would like to see a wine bar since it's much more refined than beer. The new arena would be the epicenter of Newfoundland entertainment.

The new arena for the Altanta Inferno of the simulation hockey league should be named the glorious arena of the Atlanta infernos where the great players angus mcfife, @Z-Whiz puddles o'quack, @hotdog ph-eel-eep eko van ell and @goldenglutes bingo toivu play. That is a long name but we can charge extra fees on physical tickets sales as the paper required will be much more. The sponsor will be the grinch company. the grinch company is a video editing firm and production where @leviadan, former player, runs the business. He is now rich and will of course pay to have his name added after our very long arena name with a grinch logo laughing my ass off kekw.

I am very proud of our new arena as the amenities will be top tier. We have an eel tank, and a bingo room. thats it but they both take half the place. I think our General managers might have lost it and have gone completly crazy from the league rules always changing to make us look bad! It's true! It's a conspiracy and now the thunderdome is shutting down! That was our secret weapon for uh.... cup winning purposes.

CREATIVE PROMPT / STORY MODE

Picking a new arena name would be hard but if it was up to me I think it should be named after one if the best GMs in Scarecrow history either Nictox or JKortesi. Either that or they could go with a more city of St, Louis theme and name it something having to do the arch. I think the stadium it's self should be located near the Mississippi river, it's a beautiful area and is closer to the touristy part of the city which means more things to see and do before and after the games. With the new stadium the owners have committed a lot of money to the district surrounding the arena. So far they have committed to more bars, breweries and restaurants, improvements to the kid's museum. There's also talk of making brand new team store along with an actual team museum connected to the new stadium. Since everything is still under construction the owners have asked the fans for suggestions on what to add as well.

Written Task: Tell me what your player cares most about in terms of stadium amenities. What do they expect to see? What would surprise them, positively or negatively? What do the weight room and film room absolutely have to have? (150+ words)

paul koivu does not really go to hockey games normally, he prefers just playing the game itself or watching it from the comfort of his home on his television, but if he really had to go, paul needs very specific things in order to be able to enjoy watching a hockey game in an arena. Their needs to be somewhere where he can buy popcorn, and preferably not too expensive. He needs his popcorn to watch hockey and have fun. Then he needs to be in one of those lounge things, you do not really quite have a good enough view in the seats and the seats are usually not comfortable enough. From the lounges, you might not see from up close, but you have televisions and you can see the bigger picture, which paul prefers anyways. Then the arena needs to allow his dog in, he cannot watch hockey with his dog, and his dog is very nice and does not bark, so it would never be a problem for anyone.

Kaapo Kampainen is a Finnish player so of course he wants a state of the art sauna as an amenity in his arena and since he's teammates with a lot of Finnish players, the Winnipeg Aurora ownership group listened to their demands and built the best Scandinavian sauna in North America to accomodate their star players. One other thing that Kaapo enjoys quite a lot of a really nice film room. A true student of the game, Kaapo loves to sit down in a lazy boy chair and watch films while taking numerous notes and eating his favorite snacks. Speaking of snacks, Kaapo expects nothing less that everything he can hope for. Despite his great physical ability, Kaapo isn't known to follow a strict diet, so the Winnipeg Aurora built the biggest candy bar in Canada so Kaapo can snack in peace while laying down in his lazy boy chair. He also asked for a nice weight room, but it's not like Kaapo spends much time there.

Congratulations, you managed to get the local taxpayer to help fund your owner's new arena, and you don't even owe them ticket discounts! Now, you're being asked for your input on two points: what should the new arena be called, and where in the city should it be built? What's the Arena district going to look like now? (150+ words)

Now that a deal has been guaranteed, Edžus Ozolins can focus on finding a new arena name. As the arena is to be located in the best district of Portland, a water-linked name would make a lot of sense. So, with that in mind, the new name for the arena will be the Davey Tree Arena, because of the Timber part in the team name. The Davey Tree Exert Company is the 6th largest employee-owned company in the United States of America, so with that sponsorship, Maine gets an even bigger source of income to pay back the arena’s debts. As for the arena district, multiple references to water and trees will be made in a certain radius still undetermined, to make it feel like a real Timber x Portland collaboration. There would be places for people to hang out, spots for food trucks, and most importantly, a ton of activities linked to the team, along with the more classic ones. The moral of the story is that wherever you end up going to, nothing is worse than St.-Louis.

yep ok well first of all the thing i care the most about is the fact that is on gods great american soil i would be absolutely stupendized to find any arena that refuses to play on our lands hell even canada has been losing franchises to us for decades those beaver tail hosers dont have a clue second of all the most important part of an arena is the cheese and we arent talking about any weird cheeses from those other places where the noses are big and the choice of marital partner is has an even bigger nose im talking about that great american cheese product that cleverly skrrrrrrrrrrrts the low t big l food industry that continues to pump flouride into our food and that brings me to the most important part of an arena the toilets yep thats right we need them to follow true american code and have their own water system for me to drink from so that the left wing agenda cannot steal my hitting tpe and put it into speed and dangling instead

Writing Prompt 1: John Brown is of the belief that the most important things for an arena are to be conveniently located and of the benefit of the people in the area. Therefore John Brown decides that the best option is for the arena to be in the downtown area and to not take up so much room with parking lots. Thus the people can reach the arena by utilizing mass transit with things like trains, subways, and busses. Thus John Brown firmly believes that no matter what people should be able to access the games easily without having to have too much urban sprawl getting in the way with things like parking lots. It's a weird thought when you think about it considering John Brown doesn't even know what a car or a parking lot is but y'know, it's still an important issue to him because it's just one thing that people have told him they care about and he cares about them. So it all balances out

The new arena should be called the Thunderdome because the death of the Thunderdome is a sad thing and it was a big part of Hamilton's history and a big part of their lives to have the Thunderdome. I think the Thunderdome will help drive fan engagement for the hamilton steel hawks. The arena should be built downtown and be one of the main selling points of Hamilton. It would bring life to the city and it will be something that will be the talk of the town and something that will help people go and resolve their problems and something that will help change the feel and look of Hamilton. It will look like something that will help people forget about their days and look forward to the next big thing that is going to happen. Without this new arena, Hamilton will look like a ghost town and forget about things that are coming next.

The most important things when it comes to a stadium and amenities for me has to be areas for training and improvement, as well as quality ice.  If the ice I’m skating on sucks and doesn’t give me good options for maneuverability or safety for that matter, the quality overall tanks.  The rest of the stadium could be perfect, but poor ice would be a deal breaker.  That is how important ice quality is to me.

For training and improvement I’d like the standard equipment; strength training and weights.  The area should be clean and kept clean regularly.  Equipment such as assault bikes and whatnot are also important.  The other part would be a quiet or secluded location or watching tape and studying.  This location needs to be secluded to avoid distractions caused by any amount of reasons.  It is in particular difficult to focus when other people are talking within earshot.

What would be the most important stadium amenities for me you ask? Well since I am a foodie, not really I just like to eat food, the cafeteria, dining hall, lunch room, whatever you want to call it, that would be the most important thing for me. Having a place where I can grab something quick like some fruit or a granola bar or a protein shake and head to the gym or the ice to practice that would be super. And in that same place, getting something more substantial to eat, something that will be able to provide energy for the length of the game, or all day and night, that would be immensely beneficial, especially since the food needs to be tasty for me to enjoy eating it, but also healthy so that I am able to complete for all 66 games of the season. And since I am so old, I need to be extra careful so that I do not lose my spot in the league.

Thank goodness we convinced the locals that arena and hockey operation expansion was a good idea. While it will bring the benefits that we suggested at our previous press conference, the organization, and its players will reap even larger rewards as a result of this new construction and general development. This arena is going to be built in the heart of Yukon because as climate change continues to advance upon our civilization this region will become a hotspot for affordable housing and desirable weather patterns. We'll continue the developments in the area of town where the median household income is the highest so that we can attract the kinds of fans that will be willing to spend their excess dollar bills to support their local hockey team in its quest for a four-star cup. These fans will not only spend money to get into the arena, but also need something to eat, drink, and wear while in attendance.
