6. Your player decides to start a youtube channel, what kind of content they are creating? 1 TPE

Tom Pedersen’s youtube channel would be about wilderness, do it yourself and some survival in addition to gaming. It would probably be some stuff about hockey there as well. And food. Tom Pedersen loves food. Who doesn’t? Since it was just the day of fårikål (lamb in cabbage) Tom would like to make a video on how to really make it. Because of the way fancy chefs at fancy restaurants make it there should be more videos on how you actually make it and get the great taste that has been forgotten with the influence of fancy chofs that only make it look beautiful.

Often people Chirp only for money and don’t really check what others have been chirping about, but it doesn’t have to be so. Find one or few interesting Chirps from this weeks thread, that you could reply to, and tell us why you picked those. Do they raise interesting topics that you’d have something to say about? Or maybe they are just something funny that made you smile?

I must confess I only read the chirps that are on the same page as mine when I post them. I very seldomly scroll through others. Why? Because quite a few of them are just words smacked down to get cash. But once in a while you do find something funny or informative. I do like chirps that are a bit cheeky towards someone else than me or my player. I also read those chirps that are on the main page of the website to SHL. That is a really neat addition to the site. But with better quality it would be better reading.

Puolivalmiste said that in their chirp:
The system rewards low effort posting so it is no wonder we see quite lot of it. But we as a community have all the power to make it better.
It was an answer to Roguefort’s chirp:
hell i'm guilty too. hard not to just do the minimum for some money each week. it would be fun if this was more of a continuous conversation rather than everyone just sending out a meaningless tweet.
It summons up what many believe about the chirping. It is a way of making money, but most of us go bare minimum in our efforts to create these.

Grapehead published his chirp: Ahh, I keep getting up before the sun these days, and I don't even have anywhere to be.
And that is how most of us are feeling as we are getting older. Welcome to the club, Sir.

2. I think it is more fun to see mixed team line combinations and defensive pairings in All Star games rather then lumping teammates together like they likely have been for the rest of the season. From an entertainment aspect, it's cool to see who builds instant chemistry and who just does not mesh well with each other. (57 words) +1TPE

6. Rence Sykut's Youtube channel would consist of him out in the wilderness building primitive buildings and structures with only his hands or with only very rudimentary tools. These videos will always have no commentary and no explanation as to how or for what purpose he is constructing these structures. He will not acknowledge at any time that this is being filmed.  (61 words) +1TPE

8. Shadow Fenix was the representative from my dear Seattle Argonauts team for this year's version of the All Star game. He is easily the most deserving Argonaut for this honor as he led the team in several key categories whilst playing the role of first line center. His 32 goals were nine more than the next highest scoring Argonaut and his 66 points was good enough to edge out linemate Will Tomlander by two. Shadow has now exceeded 1 point per game over the course of both of his two seasons in the SHL. Furthermore, he led the team in shots on goal with 221, power play goals with 13, and game winning goals with 4 all while playing the most minutes of any Seattle forward against the opposition's best competition. This will be his first All Star Game appearance, but surely not his last as he has not nearly reached his full potential and his Seattle team should improve considerably with him and around him leading to his production and accolades only increasing over the coming seasons. I think overall this was a pretty good spread, as many of these players wouldn’t have made the team in a more conventional format. While I do think it takes away spots from more deserving players, I do like that it at least gives each locker room someone to celebrate from the year before. That said, I don’t think there is any need to include a 2nd player just for the sake of including them. The fact that every team gets to be represented is already the main point of the boon, and really adding a second player doesn’t enhance it all that much. Rather, I think it’s still more proper to give the spots to players who have had seasons deserving of being invited, and while that will disproportionately be the best few teams in the leagues, that doesn’t mean they should be celebrated any less. Overall, I think things work out best in the current system, where every team will get some form of representation, while still giving out as many as deserving spots if possible. If anything I would argue we should lean the other way with this, as invited a player from say a team of sub 1,000 TPE players just doesn’t make any sense compared to a 3rd or 4th best player on a league leading team.

13. (221 Words, +4 TPE)
There is no bias argument to be made for Ju-gong winning any awards this season. Perhaps the run away worst performing goalie in the league, the odds have been stacked against them for the entire 66 games. With a very young core protecting a very young goalie, it was always natural that a lot of goals would be flying into the net. Still, leading the league in losses and goals against – while also leading the league in saves – paints a pretty good picture of how futile Ju-gong was at stopping the endless barrage of shots coming towards the Montreal net. In this case something along the lines of 'The Getting Shelled Award' would be the most fitting, but more than a right, I see it as something more of a privilege. In this case the winner of said award should be given several things, first and foremost a therapy dog that is allowed to come out on the ice during breaks to cuddle and hold. Other benefits that could be included should be the best parking spot in player parking to leave the arena faster than anyone else, along with potential contributions to future therapy sessions. With all of this included, we can do a number to help the sanity year to year of the winner of The Getting Shelled Award.

3. With all defenders on the East team being from different teams, I think it really embodies the way the all-star game should be. I like that it is a bunch of different players who would not normally play together combining for a game to have a good battle. I would definitely pair the offensive minded defenders with more of the defensive or two way defenders that like to stay at home more. Phillipe Eko-Eel and Jølngüštrâädüvich DuBølk could be a really cool pair, with Eko-Eel carrying most of the offensive workload. DuBolk is definitely no slouch in the offensive zone for sure, finishing second in defender goals this season, but his 57 takeaways as well as his 214 blocks really stand out as the more defensive of the two on this pair. Eko-Eel's 66 points and 20 goals were good for 1st in points and third in goals among defenders, which would provide yet another scoring threat from the blue line. A defensive pair of two 6 foot 9 plus defenders that can block shots, put up goals, and shut down your top line is a coach's dream and opponents' nightmare. A great back end would see Georg N'Zola and Nathaniel Barca playing together on the second unit, with both able to play a solid two way style of game. Able to chip in on offense when needed, this defensive pair makes it a matchup nightmare for opposing teams.

4. Goaltending can be a bit streaky and you should not judge goaltenders off of a single game. 4 extremely talented goaltenders have made it into the all star game and either one on each team would be an excellent choice to start. For the western conference team I would probably go with Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz as the starter, finishing top 3 in goals against average and top 5 in save percentage gives him the edge over Justin Time for me. In the eastern conference I would have to go with Five-Hole Sieve, I think his .910 save percentage is very impressive and although Tibuk Soonika had a lower goals against average, I don't think the .25 GAA difference is as large as the .010 save percentage gap. With all star rosters like this you are really spoiled with choices and you could definitely just have each goalie play half of the game and get a good result.

1. Milestone +3 TPE

2. Of course keeping 4 skaters together would be the best for the team at large, preferably making 3 full line of 3 skaters, and having the 4th one on one of the other lines. However this is the all-star team, not the Los Angeles team, and for the enjoyment of both the fans, and potentially also the players, it might be for the best to split them up over all 4 lines, or at least have no more than 2 more per line to ensure we get to see them playing with some other players instead of just with the same teammates they have played with for the full season, as we know they are capable of that by how great their season was, and the fact all 4 of them made it into the all-star team. On top of this. Of course this is quite impossible, as 2 are defense and 2 are forwards. So I would split them fully over the different lines.

13. I feel like Furious Chicken should have won the penalty in minutes award once again this season, it was quite obvious the referees were biased, no matter how many times Chicken bashed an opponent away, tried to start a fight, held the stick on face-height, and accused the referee of bribery, it did not matter, the referees did not want to give him the penalties he so clearly deserved. Next season Furious Chicken just needs to become even more furious, and bring even more dirty play into his play, to ensure referees can not look past him when talking about getting his second penalty in minutes award.

5. What can city of Tampa Bay offer to players they are hosting for All-Star games? (3 TPE)
Tampa Bay is at the end of the day a vibrant coastal city known for its warm weather, beautiful beaches, party culture (especially with theclubs and drugs) and passionate sports culture so it can offer a unique and exciting experience for hockey players attending the yearly SHL all star game. As the host city for the season seventy seven SHL all star game, Tampa Bay has plenty to offer players both on and off the ice, blending professional sports facilities with leisure, entertainment, and cultural experiences that I am sure will end up making the event a lot more memorable. Even though Slava Ukraini Heroyam Slavaa did not make the season seventy seven SHL all star game he plans to attend the event because of all the amazing attractions available around Tampa Bay and also to go support his Toronto North Star teammate who ended up making the all star game roster for the eastern conference.

12. Written, 50 to 200+ words. One foot inside the Hall (4 TPE)
I want to make the case for Chicago Syndicate forward Ryan Shepard to make the SHL hall of fame as one of the players from last ceremony that did not get inducted into the hall of fame even though he had some votes casted for him and Ryan Shepard was not on their final year of SHL hall of fame eligibility. Ryan Shepard has three all shl team nominations which is tied for second most amongst all eligible players. Ryan Shepard has also two award nominations (Razov and Richan awards), has a very respectable 0.856 points per game playing most of his career in the pre fhm 8 era which had forwards scoring fewer points while also having a long successful sixteen season career. Ryan Shepard also has the second most playoff points out of any eligible skater. Ryan Shepard had a very consistent SHL but was not the biggest superstar which in my opinion is why he has been left out of the SHL hall of fame up to this point. With Ryan Shepard’s elgibility for the SHL hall of fame dwindling down to only one more season do you think he has what it takes to finally get the nod after all these years?

6) Your player decides to start a youtube channel, what kind of content they are creating?

Oooooooh, okay, so Matthias would either be one of the very best, and most respectable sorts - you know, the "here's a tutorial on how to make friends with the wildlife" or "Primitive technology - building a house out of only logs and mud!" type, or, he would be the most toxic little shit on the platform - "I smuggled a polar bear into the Maine Timber's locker room and it ate all their equipment [PRANK! FUNNY!]" And honestly, I worry that if he ever got his hands on technology like that, He might just wind up arrested. The platform is so open-ended, and the personalities at Saint Louis and Edmonton are so big, that he might well just end up setting up a camera and letting the locker room conversations blare out as some sort of absurd podcast. All I can say about his content output is that it would be frighteningly irregular, both in time, and in substance.

Well now, not to toot my own horn, but @kahri has been known to come into our locker room and start randomly quoting my Chirps as some sort of absurdist art - but from this week's thread, @bbjygm quoting the Incredibles made me smile, I could hear Craig T Nelson and Holly Hunter bitching at each other in that RV, even from just reading the lines - hearing others chat about the draft, and @Elad315 excitedly going into debt for that sweet, sweet TPE made me laugh hard enough to wake up the cat - honestly, Chirps are just a great part of the community, and while they often don't get much attention, I'm glad they're there - and also dear god please I need more money I always need more money there's NEVER ENOUGH

4. Starting goalies, 81 words, 1 TPE

In the North, both goalies performed similarly but I would give the edge and the starting job to Elvar Gil-Galad for the consistency in so many more games played. In the South deciding between the two is almost like splitting hairs, if I had to pick just one though it would be Evil Kyle Murray for having very similar stats in slightly more games played on a worse team, which we all know how much that can affect a goalie's stats.

8. Teammates, 242 words, 4 TPE

This season, I'm glad to have made the all-star game and to be sharing the ice with two of my teammates in Randolph Thompson-Smythe and Scape Goat, as well as competing against another two former teammates in 3WW Wingmate-Roc and Anna Skovgaard. I feel good about our chances to wing, as I already have good chemistry with my Quebec City linemate, Thompson-Smythe, who will be able to put up points seemingly at will, while also getting under the opponents' skin by throwing the body around. On the blue line we'll also be able to rely on Scape Goat, who is excellent offensively while not sacrificing too much defensively, and speaking of sacrificing is never afraid to block a shot or make a big hit. On the other end of the ice, my former teammates definitely won't make things easy for us. Wingmate-Roc, like Thompson-Smythe, plays a hard-nosed game where he'll never hesitate to make a hit when he sees an opportunity, and after he does that he'll go score a goal and make it look easy. Skovgaard, on the other hand, uses her natural talent and skill to weave around the opponent, and her hockey IQ to either make a smart shot on goal, or her incredible vision to pass it to a teammate who's open for a grade A scoring chance. With all these players on the ice there's no doubt that whoever wins, it'll be an entertaining game to watch.

2. 4 skaters from Los Angeles made it, should coaches try to keep them together or would you want to see things mixed up more?

Wow that is a lot of skaters from the Panthers I guess it makes sense that they won the cup after all! If I were the all star team coach I would keep all of the Los Angeles skaters together on one line (fun for that random fifth player) so that we could capitalize on their already built up chemistry. This applies in real life but also really applies to how FHM rates teammates (at least I think so) so it would be smart to capitalize on the chemistry that they already have. I think this could give the Western all stars a big boost and potentially win the game for them in the end.

Your player decides to start a youtube channel, what kind of content they are creating?

BASE PACK does not really understand Youtube or social media in general, so he will make the foolish initial decision to make his youtube channel a rip off of the old MTV show Cribs, where BASE PACK will show off his home to his fans around the world on the social media platform. PACK wouldn't really be thinking clearly though because after the first episode of his channel he is going to figure out something new because he has already shown off his house in the first episode! Whoopsies, he really could use some sort of PR team to help him with this. After that first episode he would pivot to his true calling, opening up packs of hockey cards on stream for people to watch. He would have a bunch of content available to him with old boxes of cards along with all the new releases that are coming out, much better of an idea than a Cribs show I would say.

Tell me about your teammate who made the all star game! Who are they, why were they an obvious choice to make the All Star roster, and what do you expect from them this ASG? (If more than one of your teammates made the game, pick one of those players other than yourself. If you are the only player on your team selected for the all star game so far, write about your team's candidate for last man instead.)

The one and only all star representative for the Malamutes this season is Hugo Spycher. They were the obvious choice for our team because of their domination on the ice at even strength. They led the team in points with 62, but what really stands out is the fact that they accomplished that while having the 4th lowest ice time on the team and minimal points on special teams.

Scrolling through the chirper thread for this week the first one that jumps out at me is from Salming telling everyone that his player William Salming is still a free agent. As the last remaining player from my original S56 draft class, I really hope someone signs Salming and gives him the chance to hit 1000 career points. The next standout chirp is from slothfacekilla, who mentions that there were 20 concurrent viewers on one of the IIHF streams and credits the increased interest to the newly formed Quebec team. It's always nice to see someone appreciating IIHF engagement because that's definitely one area of the site that has never really found its place in the spotlight. If having a new team in Quebec is truly one of the causes for increased engagement, then hopefully it will help to reduce some of the backlash that the team received during its introduction to the IIHF. The final chirp I saw that made me want to write something about it was Brenadyr saying they can't believe they went 4oa in the recent SHL draft. I connected to this chirp since I was also a recent 4oa pick to Manhattan so we share that. I don't know much about Brenadyr yet, but since the scouts for the Rage saw them worth a 4oa pick I'm excited to have them as a prospect for us.
