S79 PT #3: The Man Behind The Mask Due: Sunday, November 3rd @ 11:59 PM PST

The movie that I would want to make would be a racing movie because I love racing games in general and it would be fun to be a racing car driver. It would not have a monster because quite frankly I don’t like monster movies that much and I think they’re really scary but in a way there’s a monster in terms of the monster car company that looks to monopolize the industry and a small company tries its best to break through and break up the monopoly. It will be a bunch of emotional horrors as the CEOs try their best to keep things together or break through, depending on what side they’re on. Part of the fun of the movie is a racetrack will be on a hockey rink, adding a wrinkle to the nature of the competition. I would play the role of the umpire who is paid off to let the CEOs win  but then said screw it I just wanted money and let the new guys win, angering the CEOs in the process.

It would only be natural for Peyton to be in charge of this horror movie, he is an actor after all. He doesn’t have directing experience but this is a low risk opportunity to direct something. He will be taking the leading role as Dax Jackson, a survivor in a zombie apocalypse. This character is basically like Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat but without the martial arts moves and instead using firearms. One of the locations in this film is in fact in the arena and one of the scenes involves a zombie driving a Zamboni and hitting the zombies with a skate blade. Other players are in this film under different names and characters, it’s still being casted to figure out who will be the main villain in this film. The movie took some time to get right because Peyton had to grow out a mullet and a mustache. Everyone on halloween night gets a fake mustache and aviator sunglasses to wear. After the game the fans can throw the zombie heads onto the ice.

Prompt 1 (205 Words)

If Andrea were to take part in the production, and could have a tell in the direction of the whole product, I daresay it would revolve around some kind of psychological horror and thriller. The team going about on their normal lives and routines, starting off almost as though it was a breed between a team documentary and a reality show of sorts. But before long it becomes aparent something is off, and more strange situations start breaking the routine and keep the players on the edge. After strange sightings, the people around go in to take a look at the lockers, only to find themselves locked in the training facility. What follows is a nightmarish experience as they face increasingly bizarre and paranormal events while devolving into mania. A nameless, wailing spirit chasing after us in the name of every Denny's opportunity that has been lost, every time someone drank the last bit of coffee and didn't refill the jar... and more... Only to have either an obscure and open-ended final in which half the things aren't explained, or just some non-sensical conclusion leaving still half the threads open while being completely out of tone with the aforementioned horror.

The Rage's short horror film will be a Blair Witch style found-footage horror film revolving around a curse causing the team to repeatedly lose in overtime. Do not ask Celeste how they're going to accomplish this, because they do not know. It's not their job to write a script outline. Also, probably eighty percent of the footage won't even be usable on social media because of how foul mouthed hockey players tend to be. If you put them in a situation where they're startled or where you're having them act out a horror situation, they're probably going to drop a ridiculous number of curse words. This is the kind of thing where the sooner it's over and done, the better, because corralling a bunch of hockey players to make a film is really not the best idea the social media girlies have ever had in their careers. Especially one where you have to rely on the abilities of the players to improvise and record.

Written option 1:

I would imagine that Blizzard Media would likely try to aim for a slasher or psychological horror film probably focusing on the losing streak last season. For the former, I’d imagine they’d have Roisin playing the role of a monster defender, hunting down her teammates over the course of the film. I’d imagine you see her tormenting them with flashbacks of losing games before putting them in the permanent penalty box. Beyond that, I think they would work closely with Matthias to create a haunting atmosphere for the film, likely focusing mostly on the special effects and writing while Matthias handles the casting/directing(mind you this would be when they weren’t acting in the film). The name of the film would likely end up being something along the lines of Blood on the Ice or Best Served Cold. At any rate, I think that in addition to Matthias, Roisin would probably try to enlist some of the team captains to help with the film too.

Prompt 2

Gagner is a player who practices hard, and he thinks his teammates should all do the same. This extends to warmups too, however. As such, when warming up the goalie, he likes to make sure he's truly warmed up. He does this by aiming slapshots at the goalie in the most unpredictable ways he can, like wiring one at the goalies head when he's not looking. His thought process is that if his goalie is ready for these kinds of shots, then he will be ready for anything. Unfortunately, his goalies never seem to think the same way, and often get very fired up at Gagner during the warmups. Gagner invariably misinterprets this as them being fired up for the game, making him think his tactics are working. Maybe this is the reason he found himself traded in the offseason, but then, maybe that's looking to deeply into things. Either way, Gagner is always looking for unpredictable ways to further ready his goalies for their games.

Written Option 1:

If the movie’s plot and characters are up to Walbilly, I think he’d star himself as the monster in the movie. In my other PT, I decided to make Walbilly a vampire due to his naturally sharp fangs and tendency to be carnivorous. It’d start off with the Carolina Krakens getting a new pet- a dumb little koala. Swedish Chef can’t shake a feeling of disease however, swearing something is wrong with this little guy- but no one believes them.

It’s intended to be a short horror movie, so there are not many death scenes, but the ones that would be there would be hockey-related- like death by ice skates. I’m personally not a fan of gore, so most of the death scenes would involve complex camera work to depict the death, likely revolving around shadows.
Most horror movies have a ‘final girl’ (doesn’t have to be a girl). I would choose Swedish Fish for the final girl that defeats the evil koala.

Option 1:
The rage would star in an interesting supernatural hockey film! Each of the teams would be featured as supernatural entities based on their logos or describing factors. The rage would be great red minotaurs ready to dominate the field, and all games would take place in an underworld of sorts. A few examples of the teams include: Phoenix's (atlanta inferno) dragons (Calgary dragons) ethereal bears (Winnipeg aurora) to name a few. The movie would be the perfect Halloween hockey epic and could serve to get some great attention on the league. The movie will show many teams going head to head in a tournament for the winning team to play on and explore the real world on Halloween night. The movie will feature aggressive plays, good teamwork, epic goals and saves. It will show that the shl belongs with any other form of media. Elly herself would be a sort of mascot for the underworld, but otherwise would remain as a side character. For fairness and to avoid favoritism, the movie will be animated and only feature supernatural players to represent the league, rather than showing specific players currently in it.

Well, if you know anything about the real life movie "Alien:Romulus", the tall gangly hybrid was played by Robert Bobroczkyi, a 7'7" basketball player, and boy did he pull that hybrid off, I mean it was awesome in the best way a gangly alien hybrid looking thing can be. So in that vein, were gonna have Cade de Vries play a monster of some kind. We could go for a water monster, like a swamp monster or something else for the role. Would it involve hockey, no I don't think so, let it be a traditional slasher. We can definitely use de Vries raw athletism to the role perfectly, making him play out all the stunt scenes he needs to. Plus, make him speak a incomprehensible language to up the spooky factor (Hint: the language he speaks is dutch). Although, maybe the movie can have a slapshot type kill in it, like a puck right through the mouth and out the back of the head

Written Option 1:

Slip McScruff is going to take this opportunity to make a hockey related piece of art, and he gets to pay himself because he plays a leading role. He will play himself as an aging hockey star (?) who has to contend with the existential dread of finding yourself replaced and barely useful. The film will include a montage of really important moments for the team throughout a season, culminating in a heartbreaking loss to miss the playoffs. While showing all these important moments, it focuses heavily on Slip being out of control while the younger plays have all the responsibility.

Cut between this hockey content will be Slip's home life. Some variation of his loved ones will be having some variation of a crisis where they need him to solve the problem. He takes on all this responsibility but his confidence is shaken by his on-ice career. From there, he pays a screen writer to connect these into some profound and impactful ending. Slip clearly knows what this ending will be, but he needs someone else to write it for him because he is busy being very smart.
