We stan Linkin Park in Thunder Bay, so probably starting with the absolute banger one step closer, trying to time the "SHUT UP WHEN YOURE TALKING TO ME" to the times when coach tells pasta he cant exclusively play on the powerplay. Nothing quite like an entire locker room screaming SHUT UP togethor at the top of their lungs.
We also are weirdly motivated when @Ashes plays the Latvian national anthem and provides us with a uniquely patriotic and erotic interpretive dance. It is one of those things that you really have to see to believe. Perhaps on the ice after we win our first four star cup? FDT by Nipsey is usually on next. We are in Canada, and are largely united against basically everything the orange man does or says. We usually end with some mindful meditation supported with soothing whale sounds. This is both an opportinty to sooth oneself, as well as quite opposition and support for our cetacean friends ![]() ![]() Registered Senior Member
The Walleye's pre-game playlist is perfectly engineered to get us hyped before each match, with each song escalating in intensity from the previous one.
Sudden Lights - Elektriskā gaisma Naturally, I had to get some Latvian music in here. Sudden Lights are my favorite band, and Elektriskā gaisma is a good, somewhat high energy song to get us started. bbno$ - check Jus a fun, catchy song that'll put everyone in a good mood. Plus, we're a Canadian team, so we figured we should have at least one song from a Canadian artist. Linkin Park - Two Faced Here we're getting into the heavier part of the playlist, the part meant to pump us up, get the adrenaline flowing. We also just like Linkin Park. Electric Callboy - Elevator Operator Electric Callboy are experts at making songs that will get you jumping and headbanging, their newest song is perfect for raising the energy even higher. Keygen Church - Tenebre Rosso Sangue This song makes me feel like I could fistfight the fucking sun. Video game boss music just does not fail to get me hyped. The perfect song to get the team amped up before going out onto the ice. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you OrbitingDeath and RainDelay for the sigs, and sve7en for the You Belong banners! ![]() Registered Member
Champions by Kanye West, Gucci Mane, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Travis Scott, Yo Gotti, Quavo, Desiigner
A classic pump up song with lots of big names on the track. Champions gets the team in a winning mentality and keeps the Knights focused on winning the cup throughout the ups and downs of the season. 4th Quarter by Chiddy Bang A personal favorite of LeBlanc, and although hockey only has 3 periods, the 4th quarter mentality definitely applies to the 3rd in hockey (and OT if needed). X Gon' Give It To Ya by DMX Another classic, how can you not listen to this song and be ready to run through a wall, do anything to help your team win and absolutely want to hand the other team a big fat L? Face Off by Tech N9ne, Joey Cool, King Iso, Dwayne Johnson Our first pun entry, but also a banger. This midwest chopper has found its ways to the quiet town of Kelowna somehow and has become a regular listen before every game. Rock and Roll All Nite by Kiss A pun to end it as well and this one gets the Knights going! An oldie but goodie and a stark change from the hip hop that precedes it, the jarring change but brainworm melody ensures the team is not playing over their toes to get things started but still plenty amped. It gets a good laugh and breaks any tension when it comes on. Go Knights!

They let me choose all the songs, sorry guys.
1. Led Zeppelin - When the Levee Breaks I mean come on this song is absolutely a song that will get everyone hyped. Also, very intimidating for opponents while it plays over the stadium speakers. 2. Migos - Stir Fry After you have intimidated the opponent, you are now going to begin the hype up phase. The opponent will be getting cooked. 3. Johnny Cash - Ring of Fire Because why not play some Man in Black when you're getting turned up for the game. 4. Pearl Jam - Even Flow I said we getting TURNED UP. We are getting hype for this game and there is nothing you can do about it, sorry. The Citadelles will have you terrified before the game, and it WILL continue into the start of the game with our extreme energy level. 5. Collective Soul - Heavy Because why not walk out to the NHL 2001 intro. ![]() ![]() SHL GM siMp
Evil Jordan Humphrey has a very diverse selection of songs to play pre game to always make sure every mood is hit before things start.
1: Drake - NOKIA BABY GURRRRRRL! Absolute banger song that will run 2025, Evil Jordan has made the entire locker room ready to murder him with the amount that he raps this song word for word. 2: Drake - Family Matters Now what better song for Evil Jordan to have in playlist that 2024's complete dismantling of multiple elite rappers in this massive diss track. It's a very long track though so it usually makes Humphrey late for the start of games. 3: Drake - Controlla DO THINGS WHEN YOU WANT ME TO, LIKE CONTROLLAAAAA. CONTROLLA! Sorry I got side tracked, this song is another timeless banger and it gets Evil Jordan perfectly in the mood to run games himself (he rarely actually does) 4: Drake - Nonstop Another song that would only make the most stone cold of players not jacked up for a game, not much else to say. 5: Drake - Push Ups Why stop with one devastating and brutal 2024 track when you could play its fellow 10/10 diss track too? Evil Jordan is ready to get himself suspended putting this on before stepping onto the ice. And he usually does. (218 words) ![]() ![]() ![]() SHL GM SHL GM
Thurston Bull has been surrounded by music for a large part of his life and despite going the hockey path in life, they still find themselves involved in musical culture and appreciate music of all kinds!
Here are the current top 5 songs that Bull plays when getting prepped for a hockey game. 5. Coax Me - Sloan Canadian rock band Sloan has been a staple in Thurston's playlist. Coax me being a great slow rolling tune to start heading out the door and heading to the rink has been a long part of his routine. 4. Hustle Rose - Metric Another progressively heavier song, this time more pop/indie rock from another Canadian favorite. 3. Dirty Boots - Sonic Youth From his hometown and close family friends, the band Sonic Youth has had quite an impact on Thurston. Dirty Boots being one of his favorite songs to get hyped up with. Another slow steady start into a loud, heavy rock song. 2. Lady - Modjo Switching it up a bit, we move into the electronic music. A classic one, Lady by Modjo. There's a lot of rhythm in the game of hockey and this one gets the body moving. Bull keeps the rhythm in his game with some hype from this song. 1. Da Funk - Daft Punk Finally just before Bull hits the ice he jams out to Da Funk. A steady beat to once again move and bounce too. Now ready to Juke and jive on the ice, Bull is ready to step out of the way and be a force on the ice with correct timing and rhythm. Who's ready to play some hockey? ![]() ![]() Registered Member
Sprinter - Dave and Central Cee
Nothing like a bit of UK rap to start by hyping the boys up. It's always been a big song for me and I've been happy to hear it every now and then before taking the Ice. I find that I play my best games when It plays during warm up TV Off - Kendrick Lamar and Lefty Gunplay Instant hype from Kendrick no matter what song we choose by him Big Dawgs - Hanumankind and Kalmi A little more niche it does the exact same as Kendrick and central cee, sometimes it doesn't bang in the locker room, but when it does... the team starts bumpin' Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden Slowly bringing back this song from when my dad used to play it for me, I think some of the older players like it too Ground - Good Kid Band Something I've found fairly recently in my life, Ground is a major hype up song for me that I've recently shared in the locker room. I tend to listen before directly taking the ice. Between us, It is the reason I've been late to taking the Ice. It's not often I get the AUX before a Game so I try to play 2/3 of these before coach comes to give us the game plan. ![]() Registered Senior Member
we've got a solid playlist in the ottawa locker room, but the biggest 5 right now are:
1) Sign O' the Times // Prince- To be honest I'm not really sure how this one got on there. Somebody said something during preseason about it being "our time" and then this song got added as a joke. But now we just dance our ass off everytime that funky synth bass hits. 2) Punk Rock Loser // Viagra Boys- Frenchie kept telling us on the bench to stay loose, and to not tighten up. In a game against Anchorage I hit the shit out of a dude on the boards. as they peeled him off the glass i leaned in and whispered, "i tried to warn ya i'm loose". so that just became our anthem. 3) Fiight for your Right // Beastie Boyz- I mean do i need to say anything? Perfect locker room jam 4) Brandy // Looking Glass- Sometimes the boyz just gotta sing a love song. But brandy, as fine as you are, we're married to the ice. 5) Godzilla-1.0 Godzilla Suite II // Naoki Sato- Because when this comes on it's just time to literally destory each and every person on the ice. Sometimes my own team included. ![]() ![]() ![]() Registered Member
The Nevada locker room before a game is a ruckus time. The music changes quite a bit but there are some songs that are stables on the pre-game playlist.
1. Light it up-Rev Theory This is for Aurora Borealis and the rest of the power play because they have been lighting the lamp almost automatically this season. 2. Eye of the Tiger-Survivor This has to be on the list since we have a tiger on the team, It's me I am the tiger! 3. Over & Under-Egypt Central All about overcoming the adversity and turning the team into a real contender and doing so as quickly as possible 4. Bodies-Drowning Pool For Armani Dove and Harland Saunders who each have over 80 hits this season! Everybody keep your head on a swivel with them on the ice 5. The Game-Motorhead Have to have some wrestling themes in the rotation and this one is great to get ready to go and play the game with intensity! ![]() Registered Member
The Quebec City Citadelles locker room has several different genres of music from rap to hip hop, pop, rock and indie music. When it’s my time to play the music I go with classic rock. The five songs that I play are:
1) Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd. This song speaks volumes to me and is my all time favorite. The guitar solo to end the song is by far the greatest of all time. 2) Thunderstruck by AC/DC. This is another song that gets me pumped up. 3) Enter Sandman by Metallica. This song is another one that gets me pumped up and ready to go to war. 4) Bodies by Drowning Pool. Every team needs a theme song from wrestling to get them pumped up and ready to go. 5) We Will Rock You by Queen. This song is the ultimate arena rock song to get both the team and fans into the game. ![]() Registered S24 Challenge Cup Champion
Pre-gaming is half the battle to winning the war. A mix of hype, and just full on "get your pump" type music, get people in the zone. This is our playlist:
1. DMX - X Gonna Give It To Ya - Pretty self explanitory here, this song is just one of those songs that no matter who you are, what race/sex/etc you are, you just get fired up hearing this song. 2. Eminem - Till I Collapse - Another one that I think kind of speaks for itself. If there is ever a time to feel more badass, it's going until your legs literally give out, we bring that sentiment to the ice all game. 3. Queen - We Will Rock You - Bringing a more rock stance to the pre-game, Queen always has a way to get you fired up and ready for war, this anthem is no different, we will rock the competition. 4. Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle - More rock on this playlist and another song guaranteed to get you up and ready to just throw down with the opposition. One of my personal favourites on the list. 5. AC/DC - Hells Bells - To round off the playlist, one more rock song of the ages. AC/DC is just synoamous with "wake up and GO" and this song is a staple to that testiment. A great way to get the blood pumping and just want to go out and get shit done. ![]() Registered Junior Member
Well, it seems the team decided to give the new guy the honor to put some songs up before the game?... they'll probably regret it:
1. You never can tell - Chuck Berry. Timeless song that EVERYONE and their moms (and probably their grandparents) knows, what a best way to break the ice and get some easy smiles starting to show up? 2. House of the rising sun - The animals. Self explanatory as the one above, everyone knows the lyrics, but with the added detail that everyone WILL sing it poorly so we can all have a big laugh to calm the tensions a bit more 3. Electric feel - MGMT. By this point gotta cool off a bit, finishing the last preparations, having a good look at the mirror, tying themselves up, even if you're ready to go out you get to bop your head a bit with something chill 4. Cambalache - Enrique Santos Discepolo. We don't ask Leon why he likes Argentinian music... pretty weird huh? 5. The state of Massachusetts - Dropkick Murphys. I'm a firm believer that nothing pumps a team more than some hard hitting but listenable Irish Rock like this one, just to go out with enough energy to fight a war! 205 words (apparently)
Better to give an espectacular fight than to win or lose without meaning

Free Bird (Lynyrd Skynyrd) - is an explanation really needed for this one? Located in the heart of the American Midwest, St. Louis lives and breathes MERICA. Many on the team have been trying to get to team admins to change this to the main goal song at home games. (49)
Kickstart My Heart (Motley Crue) - an electric classic rock hit, this song gets the boys going with its guitar and up tempo beat. There’s never a dull moment when this one comes on rotation. (82) Animals (Nickelback) - this song was chosen by the few people who are bold enough to like nickelback and proclaim it to the world. The rest of the guys realize that, hey, this isn’t actually so bad, why do we hate them again? (126) Till I collapse (Eminem) - Eminem has been a staple in locker rooms for the last 25 years and this room is no different. Old (150) school rap at its finest. 8 mile (Eminem) - another Eminem track which plays back to back with till I collapse, this song always manages to get the boys going for warmies. ![]() SHL GM SHL GM
Music is a massive factor in the locker room and the way the team has played in the past few weeks has been shown through the way they play on the ice. The team has a numbers of songs on their playlist. Some players have shared their songs with the other players. The players who have shared the songs are also the ones who are the chirpest. Not a word I know.. but we are going to talk about some of these songs.
First let’s start with Miley freaking Cyrus. Party in the USA! It’s a phenomenal song that gets the whole team excited and ready to play hockey. Secondly the next song is Tweaker from GELO. It is an awful song. But man that chorus is catchy. Third is the teams favorite song right now. Surf Swag from Lil Wayne. This song is the walk out music for every home game. Fourth is Billy Joel… Uptown Girl. It’s a classic. Last but not least… we do not know how this song got here… There is rumors who did it. But we can not found out who did it….. Owl City… Fireflies. It is so good… and you say it is not a good song. You are lying.. (211 words) Drafted 2nd round 21st Pick by the Winnipeg Jets in S55 SHL Entry Draft
