Hello everyone!
If you’ve been with us for a little longer, you might remember our major graphics and media event
from last year that ran over several seasons. For those who are new, here’s a quick refresher: the event series was called “Team Spotlight Weeks,” and it was exactly what the name implies—it highlighted different teams, two per week, and gave users the chance to design, write, or record podcasts about those teams, all while earning a double payout for their contributions. It was a major success and well-received, which is why we’re excited to bring it back in a slightly updated format for 2025!
With the upcoming expansion of the SHL, we will soon have a total of 40 teams across both leagues: 24 in the SHL and 16 in the SMJHL.
This time, we will organize the teams into groups of five. Each Spotlight Group will be featured for a total of three weeks, meaning that each season will showcase two featured groups, followed by a three-week break for other exciting events like the 2x draft or 2x IIHF/WJC weeks. Overall, this series will run for four seasons and conclude sometime in December.
Mark your calendars! Our first five teams will be announced on
April 19th , with submissions opening on April 21st. We can’t wait to share the detailed rules and everything else you need to know at that time!
