Hey everyone!

The graphics and media departments have come up with an exciting new challenge for all of you. This challenge will be running for the next several months and offers lots of SHL money to everyone who participates (because, let's face it, we all need to support our card obsession somehow). Not only that, but we hope it will also encourage more engagement within both graphics and media communities of the league. The best part is, anyone can participate!

We're calling it the Team Spotlight Weeks.

We have a total of 34 teams across both leagues (SHL/SMJHL), and each week we will be featuring two of those teams. Your task is to create graphics or written media centered around these teams. In return, you will receive double the payout. However, please note that during weeks with other events, such as double draft week, we will pause the challenge.

What kind of submissions are eligible for the 2x payout?
Graphics, written media and podcasts have slightly different rules.

Graphics:
Here are some options: you can make two signatures and include a player from each team, create a signature displaying two players (one from each team), design a wallpaper showcasing one or both teams, make hockey cards for one or both teams, draw something related to the teams, or simply find a creative way to combine the two logos. The possibilities are endless, as long as you clearly include both teams from the current week in your submission. Please note that the graphics department reserves the right to reject submissions if we see attempts to cheat (e.g. stick figures with team logos as a submission).

Written media and podcasts:
Feel free to choose either one of the two teams to write about, or you can write about both if you prefer. Podcasts follow the same rules. Just remember to submit your work in the SMJHL media forum if you write about an SMJHL team, and in the SHL media forum if it's about an SHL team. If you're covering both teams, you can choose either forum to post your submission.

Please add [2x Team Spotlight] in the title of your submission, whether it is a graphic, an article, or a podcast.

But wait, there’s more!

If you make submissions for at least 5 out of the 17 weeks, you will be rewarded with a special bonus of $2.5M. Furthermore, if you make submissions for 10 or more out of the 17 weeks, you will receive an additional special bonus of $5M. These are two levels of bonuses, they don't stack. Once the challenge is over, we will provide a claim form where you can submit links to all your entries and claim the special bonus. The weeks of submission do not have to be consecutive, as long as you have a total of 5 or 10 weeks with eligible submissions. You can combine and interchange weeks between media and graphic submissions.

Are you ready? We will announce all weekly teams in a new thread in this forum and the first two for next week will be up soon. Please note that we unveil which two teams are in the spotlight just before the new week starts, while the remaining teams will not be announced beforehand. We're looking forward to your creative ideas.

Update: with the SMJHL expansion we will add the new teams later so this whole event will now run for 18 instead of 17 weeks as originally planned.

To be clear, could we do media about both teams and still get double payouts?

Fantastic idea! Is the limit two graphics on this with up to one of each team or is the task to showcase both teams in someway? Trying to clarify expectations for this. Thanks!

Yes, for written media you can also write one article about both (or two separate pieces about each team).

For graphics it's still our typical weekly submission limits, like max. 4 sigs (or up to 6 hockey cards) that can be read here. The only requirement is that both weekly teams are covered somewhere in your weekly submission, in one graphic or in 2 separate graphics. You can even make 2x2 sigs (two for each team) or 2 for the spotlight teams and then 2 sigs for other teams, but those two won't get the bonus then. I hope it's clear now?
