If Will Tomlander had to be a superhero... he would call himself the Stick of Justice! He would have a hockey stick (but stronger) that would be his weapon. All those illegal things that you are not allowed to do in a hockey game? It is now legal when trying to defeat bad guys! Maybe he would also add a blade to the blade of his hockey stick for the more serious situations. Like unsheathing a sword when you know that the fight is really serious, Tomlander would only unleash the blade of his stick when the situation called for it.
Of course, every hero needs a villain to fight against and in this case, it is the evil supervillain known as the Referee Man! His powers include being able to put Tomlander in time out for acts that Referee Man deems is against the rulebook. However, if Tomlander is able to evade the gaze of Referee Man and get in close - game over! ![]() ![]() ![]() Registered Senior Member

In an alternative universe where my player, Hotdog Lunch, would be a superhero, I would like to think they would go by the name 'Hotdog Brunch'. Everyone in the public sphere knows that Hotdog Lunch/Hotdog Brunch are the same person, but my player is so delusional that they wont accept that everyone else can see right through his disguise - which is just a flimsy, black eye mask and his hockey jersey. Their superpower would be the ability to heat up any hotdog to any temperature of his choosing, which would explain all the pre-game hotdog dinners that my player provides to the fans, staff, and linemates. Obviously since hotdogs are sold at hockey games, then heating up hotdogs has to be a hockey-related super power right? I think the biggest villains for our team would be Philly, Buffalo or Toronto. I'm a rookie to the team, so I don't know too much about all the lore and I had to ask around the LR for some assistance, BUT I think their super powers would be to accidently beat us in games with weird tip-ins. I need to learn more about the other teams, I guess 203 Words ![]() ![]() Simmer General Dumbass of the Site

While heroes of the game can definitely be characterized as the players who show up when the team needs them the most, I can also see how there are many players who are considered heroes that don't fully fit into this category. At the end of the day a team will not win a game because their hero player scored the game winning goal, or makes the game winning save, it is a team effort that wins you the full 60 minutes. Heroes that hide in the shadows could be a defenseman who made a massive block in order to keep the game close, or a fourth line of forwards who had an electric forechecking shift that only lasted 30 seconds, but in return brought high energy to the whole team watching on the bench. Another way these shadowed heroes come out is in the locker room, in the weight room, and even the meeting room. Having someone else's back when they are feeling down, being a motivational speaker to help keep morale up, even when watching game film and noticing the wrongs and rights to help spread the correct information to coaches and teammates. Heroes can be defined by on ice play, but there is a lot of behind the scenes heroism that most of the public never get to see. ![]() SMJHL GM Senior Member

Given the name Nostradamus, I think a fitting super power to have would be to be able to see the future. See plays before they happen, where teammates will be for nice stretch passes out of the zone, and successfully predicting other team's attacking strategies, all make up a fitting two way dman which Nostradamus is. Of course, Nostradamus is the hero in this fantasy world and the villain is none other than Jim Wieners. Their rivalry started back in season 76 on the Battleborn, where they often fought in practices and refused to pass to each other. This escalated when they both made the jump to the SHL and Nostradamus with a shutdown dman role scored his first goal games before Wieners. This fueled Wieners' hatred for Nostradamus and is now the biggest villain to everyone, as he sits in free agency and plots his revenge plan. Hopefully Nostradamus sees what Wieners has up his sleeves before it comes back to haunt him. ![]() ![]() Registered Senior Member

What makes a hero, eh? A definition of hero can be loosely or firmly defined within different contexts... this season for Buffalo, there haven't been many so-called 'heroes' per say, but with a rebuilding team I suppose it can be said that the efforts to be competitive were 'heroic'. There's a mix of older and younger players that are looking for chemistry and the veterans that lead the way this season are our heroes for sticking with it and not giving up. The season isn't over yet, we're four points out of a playoff spot with seven games left (two in hand), so a 'heroic' effort is still up for grabs if anyone rises up to the challenge. That's only one context, and if we do make the playoffs on the last day, we'll look at that last minute save, the game winning goal, the line that bottled up the opposition in their own end with minutes to go, that momentum-changing bit hit, that second intermission rallying cry, among a few things, that would be very heroic for us to continue into the playoffs. We will cross that bridge when we get there. 201 words ![]() ![]() 837 TPE

Option 1: My player superhero name would be Ice Freezer. His power came from a new pair of hockey skates he got which are dark blue with yellow lace. Of course, Nor had no clue about what these states were when he found them at his spot in the locker room before a practice. Instead of wearing them during team practice, he decided to leave them in his locker. But right after the practice, he waited a little for his teammates to leave and then he put on these skates and went back on the ice all by himself. At first, nothing special was happening and they just felt like normal skates, but then he braked right next to the puck sending snow into the air and the puck froze in place for one second. This is the skate power, they froze the thing on which the snow is projected. Ice Freezer uses this to his advantage, and he will brake right next to the other team players which will freeze their feet for a second and he can use this time advantage to help create scoring chances.

I would say that heroes need many assets to bring to the table. You have to be a top player for your team. But you also need to be a clutch player so that means being there in important matches and not just casual matches. Then you also have to be a player with empathy to understand your Coaches, General Managers, Teammates, Staff and so on. Also very important is Leadership in my opinion. Players do not be a captain or alternate captain, they still should be valuable assets in a Role of Leadership. For me a hero also helps the humans in need. So Charity is also a very strong part of being a hero. Going to hospitals, schools and many other facilities to meet fans but also non fans with serious pain, illness or injury is so important to be called a hero in the world. So heroes can't be selfish or without empathy.

Its launchpad mcquack the ace pilet for scrooge mcduck and amazing goalie for the forge of philly however in a different world he would be preforming as his favorite superhero Darkwing Duck, who patrols the night and fights crime everyday with the help of his friends and allies. I believe that using my elite skills that I have learned throughout mytime as a SHL Goalie I can dominate and win if needed in order to be the best of the best and make sure that i save duckburg or even the world or even philly whichever is the hardest to achieve as a collective or whatnot. It is hard out here for a duck so we need a man to step up and be the duck to save the whole ducking world from evil eitherway i believe that as darkwing duck i could make a difference and could even save the world

Prompt 2
A hero is a person you can turn to and they’ll deliver in the toughest moments. That can be a huge save or a clutch goal, but also a locker room speech that sparks the tinderbox to make the team lock in, a huge blocked shot, or just a perfectly placed pass or poke check. A hockey hero is the most dependable person to deliver when the pressure is on. On the Baltimore Platoon, I believe M’Baku Olubori could be considered a hero for the team. To date, I believe he has the franchise record with 63 regular season game winning goals, alongside several other scoring records. Additionally, I think his 9 playoff GWGs for the Platoon make him the best clutch playoff performer from this current era of the team. For many years, he never wore a letter but remained a vocal support for his teammates, doing whatever the team needed him to so they could win. In the last few years, he’s served as the team’s captain, and is who many turn to when they need that extra push to keep battling for a loose puck or find another gear to press in a close game. But as all things eventually do, this era of the Platoon story is closing fast. Baku and the S68 class that formed the backbone of the team for so long are getting older, a new generation is waiting in the wings to tell their tale. Who will the new heroes of the story be? Only time will tell. ![]() ACP Access Make-A-Wish Kid ![]() ACP Access Jabbin' his Jelly Bean
While there are many opportunities where a player could be considered a hero to their team, such as an overtime game winner, a big save at rhe end of the 3rd, or a fight to stamd up for a teammate, I think there's a certain type of hero that's very largely overlooked by this prompt and is arguably more important than any of the aforementioned heroics. Hockey is a team sport and yes the results matter, but as professional athletes we have a distinct and unique opportunity to be heroes within our community as well. This can manifest itself in so many different ways, from hospital visits, to charity events, to simply taking the time to say hi to that one fan that recognizes you at the grocery store. It may not help you score goals and win a cup, but tyese actions strengthen the bond between your team and your fanbase. What people often forget is they are the ones we are playing for. Increasing that bond makes them care that little bit more, which in turn makes the on-ice heroics even more better, especially when viewed through the lens of a shared experience with the fans.

I think a superhero’s name is not as important as we think. The name is important in the meta of “I’m consuming superhero content and need a way to communicate which superhero I’m a fan of.” If you were a citizen in a world were “Super Dunkler” or “Dunkler Prime” or “The Dunkler” existed, you would not really care what their name was. You would just automatically think, “There he is. Dunkler”. But honestly, “The Dunkler” is close to “The Rizzler” so let’s go with that.
Dunkler’s hockey powers would be a sixth sense for the developing play, much like the meme of the lady with the math equations dancing around her head. He is seeing multiple steps ahead. In addition to this awesome foresight, he has a limited ability to teleport. He doesn’t really need it since he can tell what is happening with the play. He uses it to make plays easier on his teammates. Maybe its teleporting closer to give them an easier pass. Or to block the goalie’s vision. Or maybe its to prevent a dirty hit from a player on the opposite team. ![]() ![]() Registered Senior Member
In a similar vein as captain planet, captain turtle would be an edgier animal right activist. WHen fellow activists combine their powers they can summon the turtle out of his shell to exact revenge on his unsuspecting victims. This can get a lot more violent than the captain planet inspiration, although I would like to emulate that green hair style. The most recent time he was summoned was during a whaling expedition by the Vancouver hockey club. They were committing their barbaric acts when faithful cetacean advocates summoned the fury of Captain pasta the turtle to rescue the charismatic megafauna. He immidiatly despatched of the whaling vessel by spinning his shell along the side and causing massive leaks. He then went about the crew and kicked each and every person in the shin as hard as he could. Some of them would definitely bruise up the next day, making them think twice about their whale murder hobby
