Hi everyone,

I’m SparkyDee this is my first year in the league. I wanted to write this article for everyone that is coming into the SHL for the first time and is about to get drafted to there new homes in the SMJHL for a couple seasons.

Pre-Draft Work:

I started by working my butt off to get noticed by all the teams, I did everything I could do to get as much TPE as I could to make my player the best he can be to help any team win! I made an article about my player trying to tell people about him! Zakkira Diporov my first creation. He’s a big winger who loves to score but wants to help his team out. I thought if I could tell the teams about Zakkira Diporov and how he’s a great team player and then he’d get drafted by the team who thought would be the best fit for Zakkira. I did not know what to expect from being a new guy, who would want take the risk on me? Is his even going to stay active? Does he know anything about Simulation Leagues? Those questions were going through my head and I was wondering if anyone wanted to take a chance on my first generation player who doesn’t have good stats, was being rated around the 7th and 8th round by some media writers.

Reading Media:

I was reading every-time my name was being tagged into an article about the draft class. I kept hearing things like this class isn’t good enough, or this class is crap, and won’t amount to anything. Hearing that for some people would of probably made them go inactive.. not me, it made me want to work harder to get as much TPE as I could. Have fun with it, and what they are saying about your player is that he is new so you’re not going to be scoring like a Sydney Crosby. You have to work to get your player to become the best of the best, that’s why I wanted to get drafted so bad. I wanted to start and grow my player into the best of the best. But before all that I had to learn how to update my thread!

Update Thread:

I joined 2 months ago and still am messing up my updates thread. This is a message to every new man or woman joining. Learn how to update your thread before adding all the stuff you’ve done. Make sure your links are in order. I had a issue with coping the correct link to the correct claim for my TPE. So take your time and ask a lot of questions. People will help and read the how to pages. They help a lot.

Draft Day:

Zakkira had a couple teams he wanted to play for, but he was hoping those teams wanted to have him play for them. After reaching out to every team, I told them I would be active and would do my best to get all the TPE during the year to create a great player on the ice. I made an article about Zakkira Diporov’s journey to the SMJHL, make articles about your player and give them a backstory it’s fun! As Zakkira Diporov watched round after round. His name not being called he was ready to give up. But it was the 6th round were his dreams came true. Here is what I said about in my article “The 6th round came up and the time came for Zakkira to start his career in the SMHJL with the Detroit Falcons. They believed in this BIG Farm Boy Russian only played hockey for a few years when he was a young lad, but he was ready to step up and win some games for the Falcons.” So I got drafted and I had a blast with it, I was nervous at first but once I got drafted the butterflies went away. Have fun with the whole process.

Team:

Be a good team player in the locker room take part in the Discord shenanigans, it makes this whole simulation league mode fun than it already is. Your teammates is what makes you come back and wants to play it more and more.

Conclusion:

The Simulation Hockey League is easy and simple to use. I’m still learning but once I figured out how to do the thing I was messing up, it was simple and easy to do. I hope you enjoy your time here.
