Biggest story line in the Juniors has to be our improvement sincr last season. Last season we finished dead last by a huge margin, due in part to a huge turnover in players. A lot of guys were asked to step up last season into roles that were basically alien to them and the win loss column showed it. This season, however, has seen marked improvement. Between the two goalies locking down the net, the competent defensive showcases and the absolutely stellar offensive displays, we really have taken our game to another level and it's only just the beginning. Our offensive power increases as the season continues with playmaking and goalscoring contributions coming from every level in the team. We've got a dynamic thing going and we've shown a particular knack for knocking the top top teams off their pedestal, sending a clear message that we're ready to Duke it out for the chip come playoffs.

The biggest storyline in the simulation hockey league is obviously the race for the playoffs in hottest division in the simulation hockey league: the Atlantic division. Yes, the division with the most parity in the league is a hotbed for storylines and the hottest race for the playoffs. Manhattan and atlanta seem to be fighting for first, but third is less version. Tampa bay holds the spot now and new is just behind, but they traded away their star acquisition and won't be playing much better, potentially. Meanwhile, Tampa Bay has an extremely difficult schedule for the next month, and baltimore has gotten over their front loaded schedule and could easily pass us both. I'm predicting tampa bay comes out on top. Although NEW plays well against us, we don't play them much. Actually we play dick clapper more often. But if we can continue steal points from the great lakes, we can easily crush the other two teams in our divisional games.

You may think I'm a little biased, but the biggest storyline coming out of this season is how Barrett Blackwood is number two in scoring thus far. With 19 goals and 31 assists, he has scored 50 points in just 36 games this year. That puts him currently on pace for over 80 points, which would easily eclipse his career high of 70 from last season. While it is unlikely he goes over 30 goals for a second consecutive season, it is his passing and the accuracy of his teammates that has carried him to his spot on the league stat sheet. Blackwood's career high for assists in a season is 38, set last year in 66 games. As we stand today, with 30 games left to play, he needs only 8 assists to set a new career high. For a player that has never quite lived up to his first round hype, it seems like something may have finally clicked for the veteran winger.

The biggest storyline this season thus far is the explosion of the Toronto North Stars to finally compete in the Great Lakes Division. The Great Lakes Division has been such a complete powerhouse between Chicago, Buffalo, and Hamilton, that for Toronto to finally begin overtaking somebody else in the division is a fantastic showing for them. The team has been riding high off the back of Rich and other fantastic forwards, that it's amazing to see them do well. Such hard work is finally paying off, you can't help but feel good for them. It's such a heartwarming situation that they can feel good about, maybe we don't have to drain the Great Lakes Division after all. Still, playoffs will be the time to show what their future of the division will really look like. Between every single team in that division looking like they can make a deep run, it will be difficult to see which team makes it the farthest.

I think the biggest storyline is Texas not being absolute hot garbage. For a long time, a long long time, they were a total joke of a franchise that really didn't have much to hang their hats on. It seems like they're turning that around now that they're under management! Good for them! Do I expect that to last? Well it depends on a lot but if I had a gun to my head and had to answer I'd say yes. I have faith that this newish management group can continue to right the ship and turn Texas into a respectable franchise after being one of the worst in the league the way that Wannabefinn and Tomen have done with Buffalo. From an absolute dumpster fire into perennial cup contenders. Of course dynasties have to fall, and a couple seasons of playoffs is certainly far from a dynasty, but the potential is there for them to be a great team.

Oh boy I get to talk about the surprise this season that is Minnesota. A team once thought to be dead in the water, they really have stepped up their game this season. They are nearly at their point total from last season at just over the halfway point. This could be due to two of their main division competitors dropping off the face of the earth in New Orleans and Winnipeg. Those two teams have really blown things up and have been slowly growing a half decent farm. Minnesota have been bottom feeders for what seems like forever and now they are starting to see things improve. Their young core of Shuffleboard, Flitterwind, and Klompus are complimented nicely with some league veterans in Gibbles and Gallagher. This team has suffered for seasons on end and have been getting beaten up by their older brothers in Los Angeles, Edmonton, and Calgary. The team is only putting up 2.33 goals per game while surrendering 2.88 goals per game. Teams with similar success as them in the other conference are putting up more goals but are also surrendering more. Perhaps this team is seeing success due to an increase in defensive depth and half decent goaltending. They put up a good number of shots so they might see more pucks go in. (220 words)

While it is not exactly a very positive storyline, it certainly is a surprising one. The Vancouver Whalers down in the Simulation Major Junior Hockey League sure are having an odd time down in the major junior league. They were expected to at the very least be in the top half of the standings, but as of writing this, they currently sit at second to last in the western conference and fifth to last within the entire league. Taking into account the fact that they have a near stud goaltender in Jon St. Ark, as well as cornerstone pieces on both the front end and the back end of the ice such as Nikolaj Boyle, Valtterri Kauppinen, Zebulon Leavitt, KnockedOut ByOvechkin, and Rikki Petrov. A lot of these players have been held off the score sheet many times over the course of the season, which is definitely a shame considering the fact that many had large breakout seasons just a few months ago in season 57, where both KOBO and Kauppinen scored over 55 points for the team. The team is on the up and up however, as they enter the tail end of the season - which tends to be where they are strongest anyway, including the fact that their schedule eases up just a little bit in these last few games.

While some big teams have been slightly struggling this season, I think the biggest storyline is the Texas Renegades. After finishing 6th in S57. Texas finds themselves in 1st place overall with 64 points. They are 7 points ahead of the Great Lakes Duo of Hamilton and Toronto. They lead the Western Conference by 14 points ahead of Edmonton. Texas has been firing on all cylinders this season. They are the highest scoring SHL team while also being the team to give up the least amount of goals as well. That is a formula proven to be extremely successful. The Renegades, while still relying on their top players (Kaarlo Kekkonen, Andreas Kvalheim, Josef Kubinec, Alexander Wachter), have also been getting a lot of production out of their up and coming S53 players. Edward Williams, Eric Hudson, and Burlok Sulfurgold have already matched or is very close to matching their point production from the season prior. SLATT Potts is another player that is producing well. If you are on Texas then congratulations because you all are killing it. Definitely the biggest story so far to me. -185 Words

The biggest storylines in the SHL this season so far is probably the great lakes playoff race and how one of the teams their will be missing playoffs despite likely being top 5 in the league in points. Another interesting storyline is the Texas Renegades success which while not surprising could set a record breaking season points wise. The atlantics also interesting with Tampa Bay and Baltimore improving giving Manhattan a bit more trouble than usual. The Northwest has the interesting Minnesota, Seattle, Winnipeg playoff race with Minnesota in control so far which most probably wouldn't have expected and for the last division is it the Southwest not sure has along with Texas dominating the intense race between New Orleans and San Francisco for possible lowest point team to make the playoffs. Lot's of interesting stories in the SHL so far this season and i'm sure a lot more will be coming as the season comes to a close

If there's one topic that would be worth writing a big article about, it's the situation of the Great Lakes division. There's been a very solid fight between the Hamilton Steelhawks, the Buffalo Stampede, the Chicago Syndicate and last but not least the Toronto North Stars. This division was also very tight last season, and Toronto missed out on the playoffs while they probably deserved it more than some other teams. But this season, it's even worse than last season. All four teams are very very very strong. Toronto proved that they could compete with the other 4 by starting off the season with a very strong start. Currently, Chicago misses the playoffs. But this story isn't over. It will be only until all 66 games are played that we will know who will miss the playoffs, and there's a good chance that all four teams in the division end with over 90 points, but one of them HAS to miss playoffs regardless, unfortunately.

If you are paying attention at all this season and don't see the train that is Toronto then I don't know what you have been doing all season. This is a team that has been talked about as a rebuilding team for the better part of the last 5 seasons. Not for a lack of trying, but a brutal in division schedule and taking a slow, methodical, home grown talent approach. Making the right moves at the right time. Not jumping the gun on the rebuild. This is a team built to contend for the better part of another decade. Do I think they can keep it up for the rest of the season? The answer is hell yes. This team is built to contend and we have the type of guys that will make other teams sweat at night. We are built for this. Other teams are making moves, shifting lines, trying to find that edge and we have been waiting for this moment. Stung by the losing bug no more!
