Why Detroit Falcons is not all to blame for it losing
#1

I believe As a player of Detroit us losing hasn’t been entirely the team fault or organization. We had a game where we won and it was taken away from us because the simulation had to be reset. We also had where we couldn’t update the line. For example we had a d man take the faceoffs. Know Yes we could play better but this organization is in the rebuilding fase and after this season we should be better than ever. As an Detroit rookie I am proud to play for this organization. But I just want to let everyone know about the behind the scenes broken simulation. I want to say I written this article to bring awareness and hopefully change and speaking up about this is the best thing I can do.

Sim issues are tough, happens to all of us at some point!

I do want to assure you (and everybody) that at this point, both SHL HO and J HO are aware of the issues with some teams uploading lines, and I hope there is a solution found soon!

D-men sometimes do end up taking faceoffs - it doesn't happen a LOT, but it definitely happens sometimes, even if there's no sim errors and everything is running as expected.

I don't think anybody is thinking anything negative about Detroit or Detroit's players because of this - we have a few teams in the J who've had issues uploading lines this and last season, but that definitely would never reflect negatively on your team or anybody on it, so don't worry about that! Rebuilds are hard, but speaking from experience, it makes it that much sweeter when you come out on the other side and start to see the results of all that work Smile

Hey there, thanks for the article! I just want to publicly state that we've been bringing in as much outside help as possible to address the line submission issues, and have been working on it since the issue was first raised to our attention. It's something that's admittedly a fault of the engine we use and is another limitation we unfortunately have to work with. But, we've also got stopgap measures in place to make things easier on the teams while we try to resolve the overall problem. As for the resim concern, yes on the first day of the season we had an issue with multiple games being simmed ahead of schedule. Ultimately when we reviewed the information, we looked at how long resimming for the correct results of 11 games would take compared to resimming the day as a whole. While in the past we've held that games properly simmed should stand barring any outrageous filework or oversight issues, in this case the work it would've taken to replicate 11 games worth of results would've taken a disproportionate and frankly absurd amount of time. I'm not exaggerating when I say it took us 28 tries to get one game result resimmed properly (4/19/21, DET vs COL needed a DET OTW) and it took about 30 minutes of rushed resims. Multiply that by 11 games and we're looking at about 6 hours of resimming potentially. I understand it sucks to have a game won taken away, and nothing I say will change the amount of games in that W column, but I hope you can understand and sympathize with the position we and our Simmers were in. Thank you again for your article, I hope this addresses some of your concerns, and if you want to talk more my DMs are always open!
