Good trade for both teams. Cheers

Surprised by this move for Vancouver. One can make the argument the 20th selection will garner a player near the equivalency of the 5th selection in this draft. Clearly Vancouver has identified a specific player they desire. All that remains to be seen if the 20th selection will be worth the difference.

Sometimes you need to risk the possible thing for the sure thing.

Of course, I am simply questioning the value of securing the sure thing. The trade makes logical sense for both teams, but based on pure value; I thoroughly believe St. Louis wins the trade currently.

I think STL did win trade value wise, of course. But in the end, I like it a lot for both teams.

I concur, by no means am I chastising Vancouver; they clearly have identified a specific member, they believe will trump the value of both selections they surrendered. I personally value depth over star-power, so I presuppose it stems from a differentiation in draft philosophy.

Well you also have to factor in the pieces returning to Vancouver. They have plenty of great players already on the team as send downs, now they are adding big key pieces to win them back to back cups.

I'm just doing this for the sake of debating now  Cheers

In this draft 20th could become better than 5th. So much boom or bust potential here.

“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. ... There are neither beginnings nor endings to the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.”

I wasn't surprised, but acknowledged the same thought process.

VAN must feel they wont get their guy at #5 so they move up to #3 for a much better opportunity. It is a very deep draft however so it'll be interesting how this deal works out when the top 20 selections are complete.

The top 12 selections look damn good, hard to tell where it really starts to drop off.

This makes things very interesting as it seems both teams already have players in mind. I'd love to see each teams draft boards post draft
