One of Marek's distinct quirks as a player is that his eyesight isnt naturally good. In fact he struggles a bit with some colors, but hes spent his whole career trying to downplay that a bit. Hes not blind, he can still read and react well, and hes not colorblind, either - but he does still struggle. Something the equipment manager for the Forge has been helping Marek with is acquiring his signature dark gray tape. Historically, black tape has been used on the stick blades and one of the reasons is because its easier for shooters to hide the puck on their blade and makes reading shots a bit harder for the goalies. Conversely, white is also a popular choice among players for the exact opposite reason, presenting a clear picture to teammates of where the puck lies or presenting a target for passes. Marek uses gray. In theory, he likes what black offers as an offensive player, but he also appreciates white, which would be ideal in terms of his eyesight and contrast issues. He's settled on a darker gray hued tape that he began using during a cup run with the SMJHL Detroit Falcons. After winning hte ship and receiving a Witsel nomination, he has never gone back and has stuck with the gray. Its not hard for the team to come by necessarily, but it also wasnt something they kept in stock prior to Marek's arrival.

Squidwardo Tentacles has earned enough throughout his career in the SMJHL and SHL that he isn't actively looking for sponsorships anymore. He goes with the flow and handles talks with brands individually, making sure that they match his core values and brand image. For example he doesn't accept sponsorships from sketchy crypto trading websites, sponsored online casinos or sketchy wattpad authors. His main sponsors are brands that he used a lot of before being sponsored, like Warrior for his equipment and Sherwood for his stick. Squidwardo works really hard in the offseason and one of his favourite sponsors is Tyr, his shoe sponsor provides him with shoes for everything athletic. He has shoes for weightlifting, running, and everyday use.  The amount of random cash grab sponsors that reach out to Squidwardo is insane, he is seemingly turning down a couple sponsors after each game. They always offer an unreal amount of money for him to approve their product and put his name on it, some even want him to wear his Seattle jersey in the advertisements but he turns them down when he identifies them as just a cash grab. Most of the sponsors don't understand that even if they sponsor him that he is not allowed to wear his Seattle jersey due to them being their own entity and they would have to seek permission from the club in order to put the jersey in the ad.

If there is one thing that McLovin enjoys more than hockey its money. Why you might ask? Well for starters while money can't buy happiness, it sure as shit can delay depression. Does the product matter? Nope. Is it hockey related? Who cares, athletes have promoted random crap for generations, why change now? Do they have to enjoy the company or the product? Absolutely not, hell, they may never use it. Since when has integrity been a cornerstone of advertising? So whatever the product and whatever the use, he's hawking that product on an off the ice. Because at the end of the day, the window is short, the pay in the SHL is mediocre and he needs to retire early and have enough in the coffers to never work a soul less, happiness sucking, life draining dead end 8-4 job, not that I'm talking from experience or anything.

Sad Ketchup from the Chicago Syndicate of the Simulation Hockey League is not really known to have many sponsorships but he does have a few. Sad Ketchup is not one to go to companies to ask for sponsorship deals although he had a few ideas of ones he would want to have. He does not seek them as he is more of a low key guy who doesn't want to be out there and would rather it come to him. Sad Ketchup also did not really want to work with hockey ones as that is boring. He was approached by Heinz for a ketchup sponsorship due to his name, as well as him talking about Ketchup Pasta, so Kraft with Kraft Dinner came calling about a sponsorship deal. These interesting deals with weird companies interest Ketchup because they are unique and funny, kind of like him. It made a lot of sense to Sad Ketchup to take those deals and work with those companies, he is always willing to listen to a good deal.

In terms of securing sponsors, there isn’t a lot Ju-gong wouldn’t consider as long as its not anything that isn’t morally gray or a bad lifestyle choice. While things like Cigarettes or Gambling sponsors would be passed up without a second though, most anything else from restaurants, to sporting gear, to local shops and marts are all perfectly acceptable. Generally so far, the places that seem most keen on securing his services are any local Korean or Asian foods or goods store in Quebec. In both Quebec City and in Montreal he has endorsed local Korean BBQ chains as a natural endorser. He even has it in contract to show up and eat a “free” meal once a month so that fans will see the young goalie going there on his own. Back in South Korea he has a few small deals with hockey advertisers and places in his hometown, but nothing compared to what gets offered and paid in Canada.

Now that I am inthe big time of the SHL it is time for me to cash in big on my name and fame.  My family has been in the business for a long time, so I always try to stick with what I know and what I know is the Ocean and anything that lives in it.  Right now my biggest endorsement is for Fish Oil pills.  The company thinks I would be a great spokeperson because of my name, McFISHman of course and because of the energy I show on the ice.  Even when exhausted with back-to-backs 5 times in a month, I still keep plugging away.  Do I believe that these little fish tablets give you more energy and health over other things you might you.  Heck NO, but I am sure it couldn't hurt you so I am all over this product. Never let a little doubt get in the way of a good endorcement.  I would never endorse something I thought was bacd for my fan base, but that leaves me a lot of leeway and items to work with.  I m going to be rich my friends and you can help.

Boots was never one to get brand new equipment when he was learning to play. It was always hand me downs from other families and usually the equipment was already well worn but this was fine with Boots becuase it meant he still had something that he could use to play the game that he loved. As Boots progressed in his career, he has of course moved away from hand me downs and has brand new equipment provided by the team as well as sponsorships. But Boots doesn't love the feel of brand new equipment except for gloves. You can't beat a fresh pair of mitts. Boots will often get a trainer or someone else with the same size skate as Boots to either swap our their worn pair for the brand new ones or get them to wear his skates for a while to break them in so he can use the pair that now has some relaxed feel to it. He's worked with companies before in trying to get a more worn feel on a brand new pair of skates but it's not the same.

Option 1

Ylib isn't really the type of player to actively look for sponsorships. He knows that his primary job is to focus his efforts being the best player he can be on the ice and fostering a safe and positive environment for him and his teammates to thrive in off the ice as well. The majority of companies that approach first for sponsorships aren't even selling products worth buying anyways. A good product will eventually speak for itself and gain a reputation via word of mouth that doesn't require celebrities to push it. On an extremely rare case however, if multiple people on the team are on board for the same sponsorship, Ylib might join in if he believes in the strength of the product and to spend time bonding as a team on the set of the shoot. It's much easier to take a brand deal once in a while if he's not the only person representing it.

Tom Pedersen isn’t the type to chase every sponsorship deal that comes his way. He’s selective, preferring to work with brands that align with his values and his Norwegian roots. Tom believes that a sponsorship should be about more than just money. It is about representing something he genuinely cares about. That’s why he often leans towards partnerships with Norwegian companies that highlight his heritage. 

He’s collaborated with outdoor gear brands like magasinet.no, known for their quality jackets and hiking equipment, as they resonate with Tom’s love for the outdoors. He has also done deals with TINE, the iconic Norwegian dairy company, promoting their protein-packed snacks, perfect for athletes. He did however stop collaborating with them when they signed a deal with Martin Ødegård. Tom hates the Arse with a passion. 

Tom avoids anything too gimmicky or that doesn’t sit well with his image, so you won’t see him endorsing sugary drinks or colon cleansing. For Tom, it’s all about maintaining authenticity and representing the best of Norwegian culture and lifestyle on and off the ice.

Alexandros is not a sponsorship seeker; money is not something that has ever mattered too much to him and his contract in the SHL has made more money than he will ever need already and he still has several seasons in him. That being said and something I am sure is not uncommon, he is not opposed to taking sponsorships is offered but he is one that has heavy criteria to accept a sponsor. As previously stated, he is not in it for the money so he is sure quite a few will offer for the nice cheap sponsor value as he’s not looking for much in return but with this comes the requirement from him that the sponsor is doing good and has no bad intentions behind their product or service. Of course, a few of the out there small-time companies that could just use a boost would not be off his radar either, he considers helping small businesses a good cause. And no hockey sponsors are not the only ones he would accept.
