Written Task: When contract talks come around, who does your player rely on for help? Is it an agent? A parent? A mentor? Nobody? Who do you talk to when it comes time for you to sit down and try to get the best deal for yourself? How long have you known them? Where did you meet them? Why do you trust them? If you don't involve anyone else in these conversations, why not? (150+ words)
Tom Pedersen does all contract negotiating by himself. He will talk to his family about what they do think about location in the future, but salary and years on the contract is totally up to Tom Pedersen himself. He is a very loyal person and tends to stick around on team friendly contracts as long as he is a respected part of the team. He also likes to sign multi year contracts. Long contracts give safety and less chance for uprooting. When negotiating for his latest contract, Tom Pedersen, tried to get a release clause in, but it never got accepted. The release clause would be activated if Tom Pedersen’s current team got any butt ugly colours other than natural ice colour in their rink. He still shivers in awkwardness when talking about the rinks of the Whalers or the Mutes. As Tom Pedersen is in his final year he is looking forward to starting negotiating his new contract.
