Option 1:

The person on the other end of the line hangs up, and Harland sits there a minute with his thoughts before hanging up his own phone. … my grandma’s cat…. The opposing goalie’s cousin’s dog…. Why the hell do I care about the opposing goalie’s cousin’s dog. My grandma doesn’t even have a cat, I’m playing to win this hockey game. It was probably just a prank anyway. Then it hits Harland, this could be his edge. When he sees the opposing team come into the rink, he flags down the goalie with two coffees in hand. He offers one to the goalie and says “You got that call too. Huh? Yeah, it sounds pretty serious, we should probably do what he says. I tell you what, I won’t backcheck all night, and once you get 5 goals, make sure to let in a couple of squeakers. Then, when you see me on the ice in OT, let me rip one five-hole, I’ll make it look natural.” The goalie retorts with “Wasn’t YOUR team supposed to lose in OT??” “No, no” Harland corrects him. “He said specifically that your team was supposed to lose in OT. Besides, this is Vegas, you’re the favorites and the house needs to make their cut. It was probably a bookie that called in the first place.” The goalie reluctantly agrees. It was a dirty trick by Harland Sanders, but it’s the first pre-season game, the goalie will get over it.

The phone clicks and Chappell stands there stunned as she blinks, wondering who could've gotten her number, still confused about what she had heard.

Processing everything, she considers her options.

A threat of death made to both a dog, and her grandmother's cat?

With confusion, she remains silent, climbing onto the ice.

Looking across the ice at the goalie for the opposing team, she sees the man smirk and roll his eyes at Chappell, nodding.

It was okay.

Resolving herself to her decision, she nods, the game starting as they play.

Chappell fights valiantly across the ice, until eventually she scores the final game-winning shot, sending the puck flying clear past the goalie as the buzzer sounds, and the teams make their way off the ice.

Making her way to the opposing team's box, she leans over to the goalie.

"So you got a phone call too?"

The man smirks, and nods.

"Yeah, I did. I guess the person calling should've done their research. I don't have a dog."

Chappell chuckles as well, rolling her eyes.

"My grandmother's been dead for three years. Her cat went to a new owner anyway."

Exchanging a good laugh, both players congratulate each other on a good game, and Chappell heads home to rest.

Technically as an s82 draftee I am protected, however I am so ferevently devoted to the patroites that I need to earn one of teh protected slots for that added security. As such I have taken to sleeping in the gym so that I can literally be the first one in the gym and the last one out without having to resort to actually working out or generally breaking a sweat. Instead I just pay someone to do duolingo for me so that I can boast about being in the top 1 % in the world on the app. I can speak french, but am too lazy to actually be bothered to improve on the app, but I feel that my projected devotion to learning French might reflect well on me in managements eyes. BBeyond that I have been acting extra needy in the locker room, demanding praise for basic things like tying my shoes or wearing my skates on the right feet. ALl of these acts combined to ensure that I am on a protected slot, otherwise ill probably demand a trade

Isn't this just the plot of Taken? Pretty sure this is shot-for-shot the plot of Taken. Regardless though I have a grand scheme to play along with the phone terrorist and still win the game. I'm gonna sneak into the opposing teams locker room before the game and swap all their jerseys with my team's jerseys (just assume that im on a team just roll with it) so that way the phone terrorist gets the teams swapped around. That way we actually have full control over the game and can win the game 6-5 in OT but he thinks that we actually lost. It's a grand game of switcheroo, a grand scheme you see. This does leave the minor wrinkle of having to actually win the game 6-5 in OT which does require scoring 6 goals but I think as long as we believe in the heart of the cards and pray to the sim gods we can do it #worldstar

FOOLS! Mwhahahahahaha, the time for vengeance was at hand and I could wipe my hands of this. You see, I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you.

What the hell am I talking about? Well I recieved a message that my Grandmother's cat was taken and the catnappers were holding it ransom, something about scoring in OT, certain score, I don't give a fuck. Also they had the other teams pet gold fish...I once again don't care. These idiots made a terrible mistake in their plans and it was just the opportunity I needed to get sweet, sweet revenge!

I hated that cat. My first day visiting Grandma with that hell beast it pissed in my shoes! Came over to me puring just to bite my ankle. Climbed onto my shoulder and swiped my neck with it's claw. It tried to bite my nose, it tripped me twice, and I swear if farted on my lap before running off. Worst part Granny said, "aww isn't it sweet, it likes you."

Now I don't know for sure but I swear between sweat, blood, and hair the thing made a voodoo doll and tried to curse me, and sacrificed it to a demon. How else do you explain winning a scoring title to be out preformed by a GOALIE!!

Needless to say I wasn't taking any chances with the opportunity to finish this thing off. I scored a hat trick of own goals and slashed my own team in the face 4 times to ensure we lost 5 - 2 in regulation.

Bye, bye kitty and good luck in the afterlife.

Can't figure out why the other team's goalie was crying those guys won.

Its the preseason! We're not talking about the regular season, preseason. holeh is throwing this pretend game all day long to save the cat. You think I caer what money they have bet on the game? People who bet preseason games are the biggest degenerates and will do anything to hit a bet. Heck this is probably the last leg of the 10th preseason parlay they've made and they are desperate. We listen closely what this lunatic has to say and we follow every word to the letter. Heck we even ask them more questions. Would you like any own goals? Would you like us to pull the goalie or something strange? This now becomes our plan rather than there plan. We'll start to coach them and help them hash out all the details. At the end of the day if Grandma gets her cat back then we did our job and no one got hurt but the casinos (we assume).

Special Training - When Hamilton drafted the relatively unheard of Rawbie Gardner, they had no idea of the added expenses they would have to the clubs 'Training and Rehabilitation budget' Every Canadian knows the cold dulls pain, it's why we're so tough and the colder you get the less you feel. Rawbie's been at the 'this isn't so bad stage' a feeliing akin to when you wade into a cold ocean to the waist.  And this treatment is exactly what he needs to take him to the next level.

Louis Belanger was sitting down alone in the locker room. Slowly putting on his shoulder pads, he sees a small black earpiece behind him. He decided to put it in his ear to listen. There is a voice. The voice tells him what Puoli said in his PT, Louis knows that he must save his grandmother's dog and that he has no other choice, he must lose 6-5 in OT. He knows he can't take any risk.He fakes to go to the washroom to go see the opposing goalie. He gives him a wink and they both know what to do. Once on the ice, Louis gives everything he has to make sure the game ends 6-5 in OT. With 10 minutes left, after scoring 4 goals, Louis puts a puck in his net to make it 5-5 and force the OT. In overtime, unfortunately, @HillsHaveHats makes an error and puts the puck in his own net, therefore being responsible for Louis grandmother's dog death.

After hanging up the call I immediately run the number through a reverse phone number look up.....Im gonna get this son of a bitch. No one messes with Gam Gams animals. Learning the identity of the caller sends my player into a tail spin, it brings up the information for his old highschool hockey coach. Of course this all makes sense hes the only one who would know where my Gam Gam lives. I send two texts after this one to the opposing teams goalie and one to my coach. After some convincing they are both on board to take this guy down. Coach coordinates getting the police involved while the goalie and I make a suprise visit to my old coach. We confront him at his job asking him how he could do this to us. He yaps and yaps about how he always deserved to go to the league not a bunch of washed up kids. He walks through his whole plan and how he managed to steal the animals and where they are now. Once hes done the goalie gives the signal and swat comes pouring into the office buidling. They had been listening the whole time as he confessed to his crimes. They gave him 10 life sentences for animal cruelty.

Well firstly when it comes to pets/animals, you can never be too careful if it’s a prank or not, so I would take this threat seriously. Secondly, it’s a preseason game, so who cares? I would 100% abide by this scoreline for the sake of the pets. I did not have a pet growing up, but now that I do have one, I would do anything for them. The bond between a pet and a human is incredible and I would definitely do what I can to ensure the animals are safe because I know those would – or could – lose them would be devastated.

Now the thing is we’re also speaking about a pre-season game. Do the games really matter, especially if it’s 6-5 OT? This is a time when teams get to experiment with their lineups and don’t really care too much about the overall scoreline and moreso about how the team plays together to get ready for the regular season.

As a rookie Marsh was still toiling in the J for the impassioned speech but heard about it and was inspired to not let teammates down as a rookie. The Forge have a great group and hate to lose any of my teammates but it is a business. The focus for Marsh in the off-season was proving he belongs and worth a protected spot to remain in Philadelphia.

As far as training goes it's off ice in the mornings focused on both conditioning and strength training with a break for yoga before lunch (flexibility the best injury prevention) after that it's on ice training in the afternoon. Monday and Wednesday solely dedicated skating and edgework, with Tuesday and Thursday focused more on skills. Friday and Saturday for scrimmage vs College players and other pros home for the summer. Sunday is a rest day where gets to enjoy the summer and get some golf in while refocusing on the upcoming task at hand. Bringing a cup back to Philly.
