For this I went back to watch the final game for the SMJHL Playoff Finals series, game 5 between the Anaheim Outlaws and the Anchorage Armada. I couldn't seem to find a stat for the time of possession during this game (I'm super unfamiliar with hockey, so I don't know if this is something usually tracked), but it definitely seemed to be a major contributor to Anchorage being able to take control of the game and finish off the series. Though Anchorage had a 3-1 lead in the series, it seemed like Anaheim was going to run away with this game after their performance in the first period. Despite massive Anchorage's lead in shots on goal (with 12 in the first period), Anaheim made more out of their few opportunities, scoring their second goal to go up 2-1 at the end of the first period on just their 5th shot on goal. While Anchorage kept racking up shots on goal throughout the second period, Anaheim retained that same lead going into the third period. Anchorage turned on the afterburners in the 3rd period though, as Anaheim suffered death by a thousand cuts. In rapid succession, Anchorage found the back of the net with four goals in the third period, thanks to a 36-20 lead in shots on goal. It barely seemed like Anaheim ever even took possession of the puck in the third period as Anchorage kept them on their heels and toppled them over to win the Four Star Cup
