S63 mPT #1: Small Talk

Holiday was good, got to actually see my family this year since we stayed apart last year because the vaccine hadn't dropped yet and my mom is high risk.

the holidays were very good to me, i am a huge procrastinator with taking vacation so i had a ton to use so i worked half weeks the entire month (or less with actual holidays) so that was very fun

I think in league it was pretty nice offseason as finally we managed to win the gold medal in IIHF after so many seasons of not even making it to playoffs so that was perfect topping to cup win on SHL.

Holidays were fine, snowed a lot. Worked WAY too much and hurt my back but i have since recovered.
Also worked on how i feel about this site and am happy to say i have found my spark again.

The holidays were pretty tame on my side of the rink, just a small family gathering. As for sim related, it was a good offseason as I broke the 2000 tpe barrier, and recovered from a texas cup hangover.

Holidays were alright! Managed to avoid the COVID so far, which was impressive given the fact we did a fair bit of traveling and saws some family over the holidays. It was nice to see everyone.

Personally, my holidays went really well. My girlfriend bought me Red Wing Iron Rangers, so I guess I owe her an engagement ring now. Please, don't tell her that. She doesn't check on my nerdy hockey stuff that much. New Years was good, too. It was the first time that dog didn't completely lose his shit over all the fireworks and we were very proud of him. She and I have still managed to avoid COVID through this whole thing, which is fucking crazy to me. We're triple vaxxed but I still don't want to potentially deal with the lasting effects of having had it. Offseason was fine, but classes started yesterday so back to being busy all the time. I love Carolina.

This off-season I had to find myself a new team because I was 50 tpe over the 1K tpe contract tier which meant SFP could no longer afford me. While I'm happy in Montreal, being in this position made me realize how stupid these tiers are and how poorly the rules around them are being enforced. It's so dumb for the league to force players to only update to a certain amount because they know exactly what tpe they have to fit under once regression hits so their team can fit them under the salary cap, it literally rewards players for being semi-active/inactive and harms players for being active, I was nearly forced to retire my player early due to this. I've been one of the best fantasy members in the league the last 10 seasons, but if I had just never won a single fantasy I would've had WAY more options in free agency. Not updating on purpose so you regress to the perfect amount is a form of salary cap circumvention especially when players are doing it with the intent of re-signing. Same with the retiring and unretiring to fit under a salary cap tier which I considered to give myself more options in FA, I'm surprised this is still even allowed. To me, it makes much more sense to let players play UNDER a contract tier without having to retire/unretire if they're just not allowed to unbank any TPE over that tier all season while keeping their banked tpe for the next seasons regression and its also much more fair to everyone. If I retired/unretired I effectively would've been forced myself to end my career after this season. Besides that, my off-season was great.

Holidays were good, Christmas was fun to hang out with family and I got to see some out of town friends coming home for the holidays as well, so that was a nice addition.

Holidays are always nice. I did not get the covid fortunately but I know many who did. Sad times. Excited for SHL to be back tho.

Offseason into holidays have always been tough, obviously having to change travel plans meant that I stayed more local and spent the time with my relatives up north for a good two weeks. It was really nice to see them, good to be away and in a new environment.

As a player, Rafa's offseason was rather good - productive, though wishing that he took part more in the team during the off season but overall couldn't complain about how well he had been progressing.

Got covid for Thanksgiving, so I managed to get out of the family stuff. That was a plus. The kid got a ton of stuff for Christmas, so it (still) looks like we robbed a Target. I also think my kid's Christmas funded Cars 4.

The holiday isn't over, at least for me. I'm on vacation right now, in a very long way that gives me a lot of spare time. It wasn't lucky to catch the virus, and it was a good thing. Nice time with family and friends. But there was also a lack of activity on this page, because for a moment everything was quite stillborn here. But all right.

Holidays this year were great. Of course COVID made things a bit tough as I didn't get to see everyone I wanted but it was overall a very relaxing time. Unfortunately we need to extend the holidays throughout the new year and give everyone more time off - but that's a discussion for another time.
