S71 PT#2: Amenities and Appellations

Written Task: Congratulations, you managed to get the local taxpayer to help fund your owner's new arena, and you don't even owe them ticket discounts! Now, you're being asked for your input on two points: what should the new arena be called, and where in the city should it be built? What's the Arena district going to look like now? (150+ words)

Being a team named the Edmonton Blizzard, there was one obvious partnership that could come forth from that. In the making of the stadium talks about the name were in full swing, until a small company for royal stature presented itself, the Dairy Queen herself. Talking about how it could be a very lucrative deal to name the new stadium as a joint venture. The name 'Dairy Queen Blizzard' was chosen for the new stadium and dairy queen got first right to set up in the food courts.

The district around the area will also have enough Dairy Queens to supply the high demand for their Blizzard ice creams. The square infront of the stadium will be in the shape of a crown to symbolize the Dairy Queen royal status as well.

Downtown seems like a great area for the stadium. So that is where the Blizzard will stay as they have no reason to leave such a great location.

For Nibbles he has never really cared about inside amenities at the stadium. Growing up he has always loved the outside and that is where he spends nearly all his time when he is not on the ice! So he is happy with the inside amenities as long as the fans are happy but for everything outside he demands lots of trees. You see before the games he loves to get his warmups in by climbing and jumping from tree to tree. So it is a must that the stadium lot has a ton of trees that are very close to each other. He also likes it to have a fence around it to keep dogs out so that he is not constantly being barked at and bothered by those loud animals. Also a pool is a wonderful thing because it is nice to be able to jump in and relax from time to time. I know it is crazy to think a squirrel likes to swim.

Yannick Svoboda has always been a very reserved character his whole career, not being one to really bask in the spotlight. After his explosive start to the season causing him to rise to fame, his mentality has changed entirely. That is why he has decided on naming the new stadium after none other than himself: the Yannick Svoboda Centre.

The new arena was built in the center of town so everyone will see it at all times. There are massive lights on the arena shining in the sky where they can be seen from all corners of LA. The whole arena district is designed in a way that puts the rink in the middle, with all roads leading directly to it. A huge advertising budget ensures that even if someone does not see all the signs, they will still hear about the rink everywhere they go. Lastly, a giant statue of Svoboda has been erected right in front of the entrance of the stadium.

Philippe Eko Eel has some rather particular requirements at his home stadium, most of them due to the fact that he is an eel and therefore requires different stuff than, say, a regular Guy. He requires there to be a fairly large aquarium with enough space to move around, and in particular a bunch of coral and underwater natural features to provide ample crevices into and out of which he can slip and maneuver. As an eel he loves to go round and round and stay hidden from e.g., press conference duties by hiding in a hole in a rock in his aquarium. He also requires some underwater friends like fish ("friends" i guess (he eats them)) to hang out with and populate the aquarium and replicate a full natural underwater ecosystem down there for him. He loves spending time on the ice and hanging out with his human friends like bingo was his nameo @goldenglutes and pablo powerplay @Jepox and angus lead pipe @micool132 but an eel's gotta eel!

The facilities of a professional team are so important when recruiting players to teams, and that is why we are so lucky in Seattle. We have incredible facilities. The gym is state of the art, featuring every machine anyone could ever want, and has the most important thing any gym needs and that is an incredible sound system. The music is always popping in the Argo gym and rumor has it you can hear it all the way in Vancouver. On the completely opposite side of things, food is also so important and any hockey facility needs to stay stocked with hot dogs, the most important food any athlete could want. The key to any good hot dog though is the bun, and the grilled and pressed buns that are served in Seattle are the best in the world. Hard to complain when you have great music and great hot dogs, doesn’t get much better than that!

Smurfunkel Dothe is someone who loves visiting different arenas around the Simulation Hockey League and the Simulation Junior Hockey League due to his fandom before turning professional. To him, a good arena is one that has many different amenities and events for fans to make them want to come back and see the team in action. He was always a fan of arenas with huge team shops with signed memorabilia and smaller items that fans on a money constraint can also purchase to remember their visit to see the team. Smurfunkel Dothe is someone who is big into his fitness. Growing up he used whatever he could around him to lift and work out including furniture around his home. He isn't somebody who needs very fancy equipment but the one thing he needs the team to have is a deadlift platform. As for the film room, he wants it to be somewhere comfortable to encourage other people to use it as much as possible to help the team be successful.

Levin is not the most eccentric of players, and he knows that the Great Falls Grizzlies owners aren't exactly swimming in money. His wishes for the in-arena facilities are fairly simple, all things considered. He would want a solid workout room, with fairly recently furnished stations and multiple options for weights, cardio and flexibility workouts. He would also want to make sure a sauna is installed - they had one next door to the arena back in Pratteln, and he always felt like it helped his body recover tremendously well after a workout session. He would also lobby for a refresh of the video room - the one they have right now looks more like a theatre room from the 90's, with brown leather seats that barely have any cushioning left, than somewhere you can truly put your mind in the game and review the upcoming match-ups. Knowing his father is an IT enthusiast, he would probably ask for his help on which equipment and/or software to purchase for the video room.

there are about three things taht i think i need in a stadium and the forge do not have any of them avialable for teh players and i hate it. the first is a boxng ring. you want a tough team? you need to have them be able to take a punch and there is no better way to practice that than havignthe boys fight it out on a daily basis in the ring. the second thing that we need to have is a hotdog stand in the locke room. nothing smells better than some fresh hotdog water and that is what really gets the boys going prior to a game and a practice. also this is free calories for the players and nothing says good calories like choped up random pig parts in a bun with other sauces added. the third thing is an ice cream stand. for the same reason as the hotdog stand but this is for long games for some extra sugar, and to have some fun with the boys after games in celebration.

If Tom Pedersen is going to recommend a name and a place for a stadium in Calgary it would be called The Dragon’s lair. Or just the lair for short. It would be placed in Calgary between the TELUS Spark science Centre and the Calgary Zoo. Then all parking spots from both can be used and all other transportation to those also. And the Zoo could have a Dragon display in addition to all other animals. On match days there would be a special price for you my calgarian friend were you would get access to everything for a slightly higher price than you normally would pay to visit all these places. And there would also be a show where you can see food disguised as the other team's mascots being given to live animals of different kinds. Who wouldn’t love to see a renegade tossed into the lemur cage? Or pull the bottom plug on an argonaut boat in the penguin pool. And it could be filled with fish made to look like Seattle hockey players. It would be a dream place to visit.

The arena name I think should be simple and goes well with the theme of the team. I think we should go with the dragon arena. Or something that has to do with the specific animal that represents the team best I do believe. The location if we had to move close to red deer would make some sense because it is close to Calgary I think that I order to move you would want to move not far away from where you were originally. I think I would be cool. Or if not that move to the outskirts maybe of Calgary or maybe something downtown from the original arena I think that is what we should do and hopefully it would be okay with the shl and hopefully it won't change or make it so that we don't keep the name I like it and can't wait for when everyone sees what would happen then.

The Philadelphia Forge of the simulation hockey League are an elite sports team and like all elite sports teams they require the very best state of the art facilities to make sure they constantly perform at the top of their game. Amongst other things Red Kirkby would expect to see at the very least a full service gym with free weights, lifting cages and the various pieces of cardio equipment. As well as this he would expect to see proper rest and recovery facilities including ice baths, massage rooms, recovery pool, a sauna and a steam room. Playing every few days requires proper recovery after all. Finally they would need to be having a full service analysis suite where the coaches can pin point key moments for both the forge and the opposition and play it back to the players with graphical prompts for easier digestion. It's a good thing the forge are consistently one of the best teams in the league and already have access to all of these things.
